Yes, it is remastered from original master. Just compare this to blu-ray, which is sourced from optical track. And no, it didn't sound any better than this. There are no better sources as you are thinking. Just be glad that at least some separated music tracks from old czechoslovak movies exist and don't bitch about nonsenses, apparently you have no clue, what exist in archives.

Czechoslovak movies lacked releases of standalone soundtracks and original material from filming is almost impossible to find...
Slight “hiss” during the quiet parts, but the phenomenal music makes up for it. I have it on vinyl. Sounds fantastic.
