Thanks for the video - it was extremely helpful!! Here's my story on the replacement - I got a Dorman aftermarket lens assembly from Partsgeek. Hey, a part's a part, right? Nope. I simply pried the old part out with my fingers and it broke apart in my hands (this video gave me the confidence to do it- I didn't want to scratch the metal around the light). I then used a little screwdriver to press down the old clips and the inner part of the assembly came out. This is just a terrible design by Ford. I hooked up the new light and tried to push it in. This had taken me about 2 minutes to do. But, the new assembly would NOT click in tightly. I kept screwing around with it and ended up carefully taking the new light out. The clips came off the light, it was just a mess. I ended up VERY VERY carefully taking 2 of the 3 clips off the old light and was able to replace the end clips on the new light with the clips from the old light. Then, the light clicked in like it was supposed to and worked fine. My advice is (1) get a light from Ford (it pains me to say this) and (2) if you do try to use an aftermarket light, you may have to replace the clips like I did. It's tricky, take your time and be gentle. There is an "up" and a "down". I later carefully measured the 2 clips and the Dorman clips were about 1/4 inch shorter than the Ford clips, so there was no way that the new light would fit correctly. A refund or return is worthless, I had committed and would have had a huge hole in the car. But, thanks for the good video and I hope my comments help!

Okay so I try'd it going through the indoor panel. I had no luck pushing on the clips and nudhing the unit out of its place. I try'd this videos method and it worked. The weird part of this method is the bottom lip of the actual LENS of the unit catches on the top part of the read window. That is what causes it to break. Once the lens has fully detached from the back plastic part it comes out easy.

Hi, thanks for taking the lead for me, i followed your video step by step, as you did, i broke the face of the old light, i used a table knife and managed to remove the reminder of the light, then replaced with the new unit. worked perfect.
