    Do you have any idea how many videos I had to watch before I found yours? Life saver!

    Thank you for the laugh, and for getting past the bolts being removed!!! I gave up at that point and looked on youtube!! haha Now I know what to do!

    Oh fun, thanks! I saw this in another video before and apparently you don’t need to loosen those two bottom ones just the top two. You just have to pop the unit out with your palm while holding. Which you did without realizing it! Lol 😂

      That's the fun of the How Hard Could It Be? series figuring stuff out in roundabout ways for humor and maybe a little information along the way!

      I beat my hand so hard it was super red and hurting. I did it his way on driver side and it was easy. Passenger side took ton of beating even after I took out all 4 bolts. Next time, I will pay a shop to do it.

    Thanks man... ngl getting that to pop out was the only thing that was tricky

    You should just put a little that oil of the new contact and touch the bulb only with a paper towel or with a glove on. Nice job!

    Thanks for the video! The plastic cover thingy was way harder to remove than I imagine. Not sure if it's because I live in a cold city or else, but I had to try different methods to pop this thing off. After that, it was easy. Thanks again! Cheers from Ontario

      The cold definitely does make things harder. I'm originally from Maine! But it does always seem that when I try to do a simple thing such as popping those plastic covers off, it gives me more trouble than most other folks! Glad I'm not the only one :)

      What did you use? Mine is still stuck in there! Am about to take it to the dealer. Actually wound up making a crack mark in the unit! Argggg!

  • @DMgalaxyexplorer
    @DMgalaxyexplorer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    thanks. the unit slides out horizontally after the bolts are taken out. thanks again

    Just did mine on a 13, removing that taillight housing is a pain. Code came on after initial startup but drove around for a solid 5 minutes and no code.

      Sweet! And yeah, I’m not sure specifically how I got it off but it came off. And I’m glad your code went away!

    Always use dielectric compounds when assembling new bulbs in used sockets.

    What tool to use and size

    • @TheParkingLotMechanic
      @TheParkingLotMechanic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used a flathead screw driver to pry off the bolt covers and the bolts were 8mm hex bolts that I took off with a simple ratchet.

    Bro, test it before you even put it back in the housing, nevermind all those screws. That's gonna bite you one day.

    • @TheParkingLotMechanic
      @TheParkingLotMechanic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For something as trivial as a bulb, it doesn’t bother me if I have to get back in there. Other stuff I test more thoroughly but mostly off camera.

      Thank you, Scott! Yes, please watch the linked video for more educational purposes. I like to film more for entertainment and if you learn something along the way, it's a bonus but not always the result. I'm learning along the way and that the the goal of the series; see how much trouble I can get myself into by not knowing the little details of simple maintenance on my cars!
