    Great information here guys.
    Top prerequisites to learning PDR:
    1- Patience
    2-Overall Good Physical health
    3-More Patience
    4-Lots of time and dedication to practice , then practice some more.
    5-Did I mention Patience?

      I must add that it is not a recession proof profession at all. These days most people will wait on dents to get fixed till things go back to normal.

      Ha ha, yes patience will definitely be tested when learning PDR. Practising is of course the best way to improve and patience is essential to continually take on the next dent and the next challenge and then improve on those skills and continue to push yourself and learn more :) Thanks Javani

    Thanks, Tom, it is a skill learning curve but a passion for PDR takes the edge off the curve. Feed yourself and keep a roof over your head for starters is good too!

      100% I've tried a lot of different occupations and PDR is the only one that continues to challenge and inspire me everyday!

    Good tips... it is a well-paid profession, for those who know how to execute and give good and real budgets ...
    In addition to being a quicker service (even with PATIENCE) it keeps the original painting and is still environmentally friendly (profession nowadays with a future, free of tons of waste, pollution from conventional paintings) ...

      Thanks for your comments. yes the environmentally friendly aspects of PDR is often overlooked so taking in to account the bodyshop alternative with, fillers, primers, paints, lacquers, sanding discs, masking paper, tape etc etc let alone the chemicals and fumes PDR is the green alternative, usually cheaper and always better (when done correctly of course) :)

    Very good video
    I'm thinking of trying PDR because i always wanted to do something skill based and patience requiring work.
    Do you think it's a good plan to try to get some tools first and try it out myself on some body parts and if i like it and seems can do it pay for a training course?
    Then i can continue practicing with the new knowledge i get there even more.

    • @LearnPDROnline
      @LearnPDROnline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes PDR is skilled and will require a ton of patience, The best way is to pick up the bare essential tools so that you save your money and then ideally work on a salvage panel as opposed to your own car or a friend or relatives, this is because you will make mistakes. I put together this video which I think will help you - th-cam.com/video/3I4Xv91CDWk/w-d-xo.html

    Do u need any gcses to work at a business like this ?

    • @LearnPDROnline
      @LearnPDROnline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, you do not need any set qualifications to start however you do need training to learn how to carry out repairs and what tools and techniques you should start with. There are a number of training options available across the globe, we offer online training, all the details can be found here at www.learnpdronline.com Thanks

      @@mckenzie4646 No problem, it truly is a great career and skill to have but its not an overnight success business so does take time, done correctly it can be very rewarding! I have over 100 free videos here and there are of course hundreds more so if you have any questions just reach out and ask! :)

      @@LearnPDROnline can you work for companies instead of starting a business and still have a good salary?

    • @LearnPDROnline
      @LearnPDROnline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mckenzie4646 Yes you can definitely work for a company doing PDR you do not have to start your own business. There are pros and cons to both, on a salary basis you will always have a cap on your earning potential but the upside is that its not on you to find work and run the business side of things, depends on what you want in the long term really. I love the freedom working for myself but thats only my personal preference :)

    Once you learned PDR do you think it's pretty much recession proof anywhere you go as long as there's nice cars there?

    • @LearnPDROnline
      @LearnPDROnline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, its a good question. In my experience being 'recession proof' is more to do with the business side of any industry, knowledge, sales and marketing as well as being able to adapt to change in the market. PDR is a great skill to learn and is used worldwide so to be successful you also need a good understanding of business itself, how to reach your target audience and understanding their needs...
