Owner of the Camaro LT1 states the car is "FBO, Heads & Cam on a base map e85 tune." A few others have told me it's on built 416 stroker kit and owner won't admit it!

I have been racing for 33 years and have owned both of those cars modified. Trust me thats no stock LT1 engine. Has to be built to run with a single turbo MKIV. Still a very good evenly matched race.
Yeah but you have to keep in consideration that that single turbo car is making 600 hp and that Camaro makes about the same power with those mods. And is also a 10 speed I believe they are crazy fast
I mean not really… a fairly basic H/C, manifold, e85 gen 6 camaro is going to be around 550. Putting a tiny bit more effort into aggressive h/c and high ram and your into the high 500’s low 600’s…
I know a couple 6th gens making in the low 600hp with h/c setups

@@midnight347 that’s just it , it’s all in the setup. Most people buy off the shelf parts that are more tame because people still want to be able to drive their cars to cars & coffee events(heck I’ve been guilty of this) this is about 98% of builds, a lot of decisions are made more on the drivability factor then most things. When a person is willing to actually do away with this you can get some very expensive heads( fed, or gpi) deck the hell out of them and then go really big custom grind cam but for best results a llsr cam ( takes more work on maintenance but more power) exhaust dumps bid throttle body and intake then put in a decent size stall. Damn thing will sound like a popcorn machine and everyone and their mother will swear it’s stroked . It just amazes me how many clueless sheep there really are on the internet.

It seems EVERYTHING is “bolt ons” now too. I’ve seen a LT1 around here full NA but the car is a monster. His “bolt ons” are: all the regulars, then he said taller high compression pistons, cam, ported, polished and milled heads, stroker kit larger injectors and full pump. Fully striped down car. Probably weighs high 2k lbs. Compression is through the roof and still NA. He told me he has to run e100 or VPMS109 as least.

A stroker is NOT bolt ons. Quite frankly heads and cam isn't bolt ons either. Bolt on means like cold air, tbody, intake manifold, headers, exhaust, gears etc. Even a stall if you're auto. Heads cam isn't bolt ons and a stroker sure as hell ain't bolt ons.
Impressive to see that Supra row gears against a 10 speed car. Throw a ZF8 speed in that Supra and you would have never seen the Camaro again, even with him jumping on 2.

Yea I’d say it’s not a 416 stroker if it was it would have had an much more aggressive jump than it had,It’s just that 6.2 FBO is Mated to a 10R80 which is putting in that work behind that power it makes good stuff though on that LT1 10R80 💪🏽

It’s been like that for a long time. 20-30 years ago, we had naturally aspirated engines making 350+hp/liter and were capped at that level too so it’s not like that was all they could do.

My main point is that we’ve had the technology and knowledge for quite some time now.
Ferrari Tipo 056-2008, a naturally aspirated 2.4l (146ci) V8 that was making 800hp and that was limited due to class, it could’ve easily made more without any limiters or restrictions.
Limited output was a little more than 330-340hp/liter.
As the name suggests, that’s from 2008, look at their older engines and other teams engines
Definitely built. I have an 6th gen and the factory motor has a different sound at higher rpm shifts. Even with heads/cam it would sound familiar enough but this has same sound as a stroker motor in a ctsv i heard the other day
Heads and cam will make a huge difference in how it sounds also e85 does too you can give it more timing and thus more power thus its going to sound more aggressive.

Great race for comparison...NA V8 with bolt ons and tune weighing maybe 3600lbs vs. Turbo V6 with bolt ons and tune weighing the same with driver and passenger. Also 10spd auto vs. 6spd manual. Great fun friendly runs.

@@terrancebulong4573 there are a lot of variables to it if you are n/a you can be in to the 600’s all day no worries. But going boosted for lt1’s and ls comes down to tuning and several of factors. I’ve seen them live over 750whp for thousands of miles same with ls but then I’ve also seen them blow just over 600whp. Fi can be a toss up sometimes for them

That Camaro is definitely not just bolt ons, might not be stroker though. Could be built, maybe tuned on some race fuel with higher compression, or just some nitrous. Hard to say.

Power never has been everything. Only noobs think that. Power to weight, gearing, power curve, aero are all factors. Traction or lack thereof Isa big factor and driver is as well especially when you're talking about a manual trans. The difference between average and great driver is alot.

The Supra was pulling. Just those gear ratios. What’s his diff? Is it the NA 4.27 ratio or the 3.76. If it was a t-56 trans probably be a different race or if the V160 with either the 3.13 or the 3.26.

That Camaro is built, says he just had bolt ons. Don’t know how you can say that a cam is just a bolt on. If you’re going to put a cam in, there’s a lot of other things to the internals you would do. I guess it’s definitely stroked.

LT1 with a Hi Ram H/C 416 set-up will run deep deep 5s and over 700 whp with compression. That car is not a 416.
Just because an engine is stroked doesn't mean it's high compression and making a ton more power.. The white c7 stingray that raced this supra was a 416 with stock compression. And this statement is not me claiming the camaro has a 416 but just replying to your comment.
@AutoGlory The I know all three cars that you're talking about. The C7, the other 416 white LT1 that raced the infinite performance car, and this one which is a completely different car and set-up. My point, if this car had a 416 set-up in it, it wouldn't be stock Compression and guaranteed it would not be a 6 second 60-130 car.
I’m disagreeing with this. A few have run deep 5s, most run 6s. For me this beast moves like a 416. Maybe not the quickest 416 in the road but still. I don’t think the owner is being fully upfront about this. Or else it wouldn’t be hanging with this Supra.

If I somehow get more money than expected, I will skip that and get the G87 M2. As much I would like the M240i, I know the G87 M2 would always be in the back of my mind. Hopefully I get hired at Disney, Framestore, DNEG, or any of the large companies. I will start applying for jobs again soon. Great runs🔥 LT1 took it , but definitely had a slight jump on run 3. And based on the runs I don’t think it was a 416. I think with a 416 the gap would be bigger. And what’s the actual Supra time? Because 6s could be 6.9 or 6.1.

For your satisfaction and piece of mind, i obviously didn't write built Stroker in the title. I stated in the video/ description what I was told because this happens often where I'm told what a car has and later on I find out the truth as do a lot of racers do later on too. Maybe you are telling me the truth, but i dont know for a fact because of other things. I can't prove 100% your car is built or stroked and that's why I didn't claim that in the video or title. I let the viewers decide.
BUT I do find it strange how this same supra raced a white c7 stingray who admits to having a built 416 Stroker and making 600 whp on a somewhat of a mild or conservative tune and got walked bad by this supra.

A.G I gotta put my 2 cents in here on this one . First not all builds are equal when it comes to strokers. I see a lot of bad builds especially if the engine is built by companies like Texas speed, then there is a huge difference in who tuned them. One thing I can say for a fact is I’ve seen several h/c/i Camaros in the 5’s to 130 when done right. It’s rare but there are some well built cars out there. I think that c7 ran like dog s***, and we have to take into account this guy’s weight. He is lighter then that c7 especially when you start figuring in rotational mass. You know when people like grip and others down there see a car that is just built better then they start making claims with no knowledge of the truth. Just like grip did with the red c6 z06 and everytime he loses to a car. It’s possible the guy could be stroke then again it’s very possible he’s telling the truth and other are just doing what people been doing in racing for a long time.
That Camaro is a 416 stroker. It raced a heads cam fbo 10r80 5.0 on m5 blend for $5k. 😮💨

I went 6.41 60-130 in my 6th gen with a 6spd . Heads cam car from gpi stock cubes . He should be in the 5s easy with a stroker build .
That’s gnarly, Chevy really has the beefiest n/a manual cars. Waiting on arh headers for my c5z but hoping to make around 430whp small cam bolt ons. No clue what 60-130 it’ll run but im assuming a 9 at the least possibly 8s

definitely not a stock cam nor stroke. the LT1s are potent engines but it’s clear this one’s had the block opened up or he wouldn’t have been able to hang with you like that, jump or not.
I bet that supra runs high 6s which is a long ways from low 6s 60-130. Need to be more specific about his 60-130 time and we could tell more. Mid 6s 60-130 would be movin tf out for a heads cam bolt on lt1 even with the auto. It may very well be a high compression stroker.
There’s a guy that’s always on this channel and can I be franks with a sbe 6th gen that runs in the 5’s literally the same exact setup as this guy with weight reduction and suspension but he’s an 8speed he’s car is dialed in by pray and if you are on the pray forums there are others who are low 5’s same setups for the most part. There’s a reason why 5th gen and 6th gen’s have been 8’s n/a sbe with the engine that belongs in the car. There are 9’s Camaro’s and vettes all n/a that regularly guys own out there , they just aren’t very common due to what it’s like driving them on the streets for the most part.
