Luai has gone under the radar for having one of the best years. Carried without Nathan for a lot of the season, had an outstanding Origin series and played awesome in the GF. Losers will still find a way to hate and bring him down.

Let's just appreciate what a dog of a team Penrith are, win or lose they absolutely try and break you mentally and physically, then emotionally.
We are honestly witnessing history before our eyes but everyone keeps coming up with reasons why they aren't the best.
The coaching staff are absolute chess masters
Ivan is on another level he's the ultimate strategist
Also the biggest point of the game everyone is missing. Munster knocks on and Fisher Harris just stares at him, not pat on the head or abuse to ruffle him up, big fish new if he gets under munsters skin Munster uses that as fuel and goes on a tear, fish just looked at him stoned cold emotionless and that won the game.

Haters will always hate mate. That's just the way it is. I've been guilty of it myself at times over the years so I get it. We're absolutely witnessing greatness here. Being a Panthers fan just makes it easier to admire it. The fact that we beat such a dominant Melbourne team just solidifies the greatness of what they've done. If we'd had lost this GF the haters would harp on that we weren't that good because we couldn't knock of the best team of the last 20 years in a GF. Well we did, and the haters can't. So f*** em!! 😉

Ivan screwed up by including May in the centres in which he wasn't a centre at all in that 2020 gf. I reckon he listened to his son too much as May was his best mate, you know how that bullshit ends. There was some uncharacteristic plays by the Panthers in that gf which left me gob smacked by ht. If they would have simply stuck to their normal game plan similar to during the year, this would have been the Panthers 5th in a row. But hey, 4 in a row?, yea we'll take it.

@youchwb6005 Agree, I think Tyrone was below average and I am glad to see both out of the club. Both of them off the feild just seem to be total losers that bring the rest down. The way Taylan blew up his career at the start of this season was baffling. Crackin boys!
L1/Day1 here and love what you guys are doing and how this whole thing has evolved since you kicked off fresh.
Just wanted to float something which is probably more in the realm of Rando's space (when it comes to certain stats) or whoever does the Netflix doco for Panthers dynasty. But would love to see some off season stuff from content creators that really takes a deep look or discussion on the past few years for these penrith boys and how the league has evolved and shaped not only with them but from them. Notable things that really shape what has happened with these boys are 1. A hatred for Luai not only for his game tactics but how so many 6's were more highly touted than him especially when it came to origin selections and how for numerous reasons hes silenced critics taking the 7 jumper in 24, leaving to play in 7. Being in Cleary's shadow more so due to game plan/game management and staying left and right side of the ruck respectively almost up until 2023 finals.2. The injuries that were prominent during this era edwards foot 2021*? GF, Laui shoulder 23 GF, Cleary MCL in the first minutes of 23 GF, Cleary Sublux ongoing and reinjury r24, 2024 leading into GF where all media and even yourself Scope said "we hoped he'd get injured" or words to that effect whereby I feel maybe you more-so meant hoped it would play a factor in the GF competion. 3. how many feel the Origin legacy is what separates Cleary from other greats but also perhaps how regular Cleary kicking tactics were not implemented under fittler. (Eg kicking for repeat sets pre-short drop-out era) rumours were that fittler didnt like this style of play which was key to panthers try line pressure and dominance jn 21/22. 4. How adapting Yeo's run/v/pass game has made them less predictable and whether we think this is due to the general publics hatred of dominant panther selection esp 7,9,6 in 2021/22 origins or just an adaptation to staying fresh in panthers game plans. 5. How the Winger hits irrespective of the first person to do it have changed the way the game is played and how it considers rest periods for front rowers. This appeared to be far more prominent with panthers, and to be fair tall or short winger argument aside the best team ive seen to do it in recent memory was a combo or Sualii, and Manu, Toupu with an early 24 game and the metres gained. And how this game plan of kick return metres and momentum offer advantages to teams especially in correspondence with repeat arguments by fans about flashy fullbacks being better than Dyl and Teddy because they dont necessarily employ a kicking game and other parts that Drinky, Walsh and Ponga do. (Noting that all teams rely on talent where they have deficiencies and not all 7's and 1's are created equal in team environments. This can possibly also be observed with which teams have Dally M medalists and which dont due to roster management and talent/skill balance in squads. 6. How Mitch Kenny was not regarded highly as he did not possess deception like Api did in a dual hooker season and at times was predictable with attempts in deception and quickly grew to be one of the most reliable in the competition. A hooker than hits like a truck and plays 80 minutes in an era or at the cusp of an era where a 9/14 rotation is praised and deemed necessary following success with Grant/Smith and Melbourne and Grant/Hunt in origin. And is now only just overshadowed by extremely good performances by men such as Reece Robson in recent origin years. How Mitch has not tried to mimic too many recent styles and allowed subtle deception and quickly grew early ball to the correct recipient to dictate his part in a bigger picture. 7. How one of the most calm and measured coaches we have seen will make a decision and not always publicise his reasons but look to seek the greater good. Ivan loses Webster coach of the year 2023??, a tenacious Ciraldo whom is the most sought after NRL asset in 22 and quickly followed by a strike backrower at his peak in Bill Kikau known for charge downs, agression, tip ons, grubbers, lifting low balls off the ground and all round flare for a big fella, and a centre who dreamed to be a 6, leaving what people expected to be a gaping hole in panthers left edge. And still Ivan and his team encourage, and carry a team to a further two victories over teams people could argue were their greatest adversaries. Bunnies were without Latrell due to suspension, and Broncos and Storm had all their fast, flashy and strike weapons in full effect. This could go on for some time. But I hope that in this golden era of our game that some truly in depth discussion talks of the game as a whole and how its being influenced, but also how some of these team efforts have been achieved. Sorry for the chapters boys! Keen for some more content. Theres levels to this stuff!

Penrith supporter here. I agree with Justin on the no try. If it had been given a try by Klein I think the bunker would have supported him and based on what I saw during the game it would have been hard to disagree. Surely there needs to be a system where the bunker can in real time provide the broadcasters with the footage on which they base their decision, surely that can't be that hard to do? So proud of my team. Willie is right in that you can't compare era's so I'll just look at the numbers which tell us that Penrith are statistically the best team we've seen for the last 60 odd years. I'm happy with that. Regardless of how the game was played in that era, we should never ever see that Dragons run of 11 premierships in as many years as the best the game has ever seen. Cleary is up the there with Bennett and Bellamy IMO, because while those 2 have admittedly done things that Cleary hasn't, neither of them has got close to what running up 4 in a row, and to be fair are unlikely ever to do so. Thanks for the content this year gents, stellar work by you both. No one talks about footy quite the way that Willie does :) Bring on next year!!

Hey Lads, love the poddy and tuning in every week
I have a thought for you. Do you think Panthers losing a couple of players each year could be a blessing in disguise. i know losing Api, kiks, critta and so on would be difficult to replace. but bring in new players who are hungry to win, While keeping some players to drive the culture and standards of the club.
I know they would rather keep those players as long as they can, but its something to think about.
    Keep up the amazing work!!

If the greatest halfback discussion looks busy with the likes of Johns and Thurston and Cronk, the greatest Lock role is looking pretty easy to asign to Yeo hands down. Definitely a future immortal.

It's like they all feel & read the game, then communicate on what each player is feeling & reading, then they pull out the tools they've practiced to get over whatever defense presents.

Hey boys, thanks for the content all season, particularly the engagement in the comments. Two things; firstly, couldn’t agree more with Scope about the fact that Melbourne couldn’t have done much more, they were too gassed by trying to stay with Penrith. It was evident by the 3-4 times that Melbourne made half a break down the left edge and Munster wanted to play off of it fast and they panned to the wide shot to see the whole Storm line 15-20 metres back which meant Munster either had to swing it all the way back or tuck it in and run. Secondly, interested to know your thoughts about the NSW coaching position and people like Gus saying a club coach could do it like Ivan or Belly. Something that I am surprised hasn’t been mentioned is that a factor stopping this is also the fact that it may mean that the coach overlooks players in their club team that are in contention e.g. Ivan leaving out Luai for the Blues and what that could do for relationships in club land. Can’t remember it being an issue in the past and could be because their used to be “selectors” when there were club coaches, but I think it is something that could cause issues in the modern game where it doesn’t take much to start fractures in a club. Sorry for the long one boys, appreciate it

Clubs should be allowed to increase their salary cap by at least 50k for each GF won, enough to add just a minuscule more to current players but not enough to compete with a serious offer from another team. Or even more leeway with 3P sponsorships or what have you. Maybe even have NRL pay for admin staff fees or membership fees. Penrith should be rewarded basically, they've lost too many stars, too many development players, too many coaches, and probably even admin staff as well. 4 out of 5 GFs IN A ROW (not spread out but IN A ROW) should be properly compensated.

I wouldn’t be too mad if Bizza left. A bunch of those players have achieved a lot at Penrith but I feel like starting fresh at a new club, taking on more of a leadership role and then improving it (like crittas done) would look better on the resume than staying at the top squad and continuing to win. Interesting side note - despite the attrition the Panthers have had over the past 5 years, 7 of their players have started in the same position for all 5 GFs (Edwards, To'o, Luai, Cleary, Fisher-Harris, Martin and Yeo). Honourable mention to Leota who started at prop for the last 4, but was on the bench in 2020.

Wins 2012 and 2017with a stacked team and a weakened comp. 2020 with smith. 2024 another minor premiership with no gf win.
