When I were a nipper, a million years ago, I remember going out on a boat called Bridlington Belle. It was pissing it down and the wind was up. I puked my arse up. Shortly afterwards we went for fish and chips and I had the biggest fish I've ever had to this day. Skin on too. Glorious. One of my favourite food memories.
in the early 80s I just remember the Boat Flamborian, think it took you to Flamborough head and back. Parents had a van at Brid, great times in the 80s with my new little family.
I remember the Bridlington Belle too. Back in t'day all the pubs had to close at 3pm by law and couldn't reopen until 5:30pm. However, if you took a boat trip on the Bridlington Belle they were allowed to serve alcoholic drinks after 3pm as the boat went out into 'international waters'. I spent several drunken afternoons on that boat!
Old town is where everybody starts the Boxing day pub crawl, The Board is great in winter with the fires all lit and low lighting, really spooky. The pub crawl starts on Market place and winds through old town then down Quay road ending up in the town centre.
I remember when my grandmother was in the hospital for cancer and as kids we couldn't go up and see her. She was on the third floor but she would come to the window and wave down at us while we played outside on the grass below her. Glad your mom is on the mend, blood pressure can be a tricky thing to control, my mom had the same problem. Looks like the kids had a really good time out with you and Becky. Yes, the old town there looks very inviting to go and explore. Thanks for the tour around and sharing with us.
That was great James , Seeing you and your family . Hope your mum is feeling better. Good of you to make dinner for Becks .As usual enjoyed the banter between everyone and the lovely scenery.
Have a lovely time in Bridlington with your family 💕💕 Remember your kids come first in my opinion and you can make up for lost time later. I hope your mum recovers and comes home
Congratulations James ( & Helen ) thoroughly deserved guys ,,,always great vlogs that never disappoint ,,,onwards and upwards 👍🏽hope your mums feeling better
What a lovely bunch you all are. Congrats on the 50k, it's well deserved. Wishing you, Helen and all your family all the very best. My husband and I are heading that way in July and will definitely be stopping in Brid.
the main reason for subscribing and coming back each vid is your humour and you and your wife are perfect for TH-cam.. love you both and keep doing what you are doin..
Well done James and Helen for hitting the 50K marker. Bridlington looks a nice place with plenty of history. Scarborough is a seaside town and seems a great place to keep the kids occupied. Hope your Mum is out of Hospital and recovering, thanks for the video and see you in the next one. 👍
Takes me back watching your Brid vids. I used to go every year with the family at Barnsley feast week. Used to have a knickerbocker glory from diner across from harbour. I’m 56 Barnsley born and bred but moved to Adelaide AUstralia 15 years ago. You do look very familiar so I must have seen ya round tarn as I used to go in there every weekend. Keep up the vids. They’re entertaining viewing.
Hi James. Me and my wife Liz just had a great 3 nights stopping at Sewerby nr. Bridlington at a CMC site in our 20 years old VW campervan Kevin! We spent 2 afternoons in Brid and loved it! Fish n Chips at Harbour Fisheries over looking the harbour 9/10...and next day on a recommendation by a lovely local lady, homemade steak pie in your favourite place Boyes! That pie was unbelievable... A 10! Love the channel mate. Keep doing what you do! 👍
We love Dads Army so that was so very interesting James thanks… brilliant vlog your daughter is so lovely 🙂 love seeing you with your family you’re all so great together 🥰
Hi James, hope your mum is feeling a lot better. Don’t worry about vlogs on weeks when you have your gorgeous little girl. Can't beat the IPAs, Sours, Stouts and wonderful Belgian beers. Keep up the great work, James along with Helen, and keep wearing your heart on your sleeve. Being genuine is very rare in the age of the social media circus. ❤

James you have brought back so many memories, I went to Brid as a child I have taken my children and my grandchildren. I have walked in your footsteps many times.
Good to learn your mum's fine, James. Thank you for showing the wider world 'Old Town'. I spoke to a lady in the Sweet shop who said the local council missed a trick not promoting Old Town as the area used for Dads Army. Also, very best chippy meal - North Beach fisheries. Yum. We were in Brid last week too. A visit to John Bull Rock Factory, Notrianni's ice cream parlour, across from the John Bull Rock shop (both in Brid), South Landing nature reserve and the Flamborough Head lighthouse (clean pub and a tat filled gift shop) are also highly recommended.
Why didn't I visit old Town Brid before?! Been today on back of your vid and it's amazing. The priory is fab and the Georgian collectables shop with gardens at the back with tea rooms was just fantastic. Thanks James.
This was our regular summer haunt. Staying in a super cheap hotel or B&B, a week on the sands, playing with my toy Yacht on the boating lake - Happy times 🙏🏻❤️🫶🏻
So pleased your Mum is ok having said that ive just noticed this was 4 months ago, hope shes still ok xx I have low blood pressure but if that goes slightly higher its a struggle and if it goes slightly lower, its terrible. Xx
Great vlog. Briefly stopped in Bridlington , on the sea front when on the way to Scarborough but if I had seen the old town I would have stayed a lot longer, it's beautiful!

I have a brilliant pub crawl for you when you get back to sheffield. Its down Heeley and Chesterfield road 5 or 6 pubs. The sheaf view the brothers arms then the crown the white lion and the tramshed all cloes to each other and good to hear your mum is doing ok 👍
Just noticed The Expanse hotel in the background my dad used to take us there circa 1980 I was 10 and on the back of this vlog I’m gonna book this weekend and get nostalgic. Thanks James great memories.
Great video James, Brid holds so many memories for me, childhood holidays staying in my Aunties house, days out, and many happy evenings in the Ship garden at Sewerby , I even passed my driving test in Brid, and played football there regularly in the local leagues, as a young bloke. 👍
Congratulations on the big 50k well deserved for the hard work you put in to these great vlogs. Thanks for the pub recommendations in old town will give them a visit next month when visiting

Skin on ? Not for me I'm a right wuss lol 😢
I went on a fishing trip out of Bridlington. Out of 12 of us on the boat only 2 were not as sick as a dog.

Yes, I remember going on that boat and had to lay on the seating in the bar at the bottom of the boat clutching a cartier bag to be sick in!🤮
