    The comments section is so scary. When people share their story, they get bashed - say that they are seeking attention, judge their past, and that some things should be kept private and not be imposed into the public. But when people remain silent on their issues, and something happens...they get bashed again - for not speaking out earlier, saying "how can people help you if you don't say anything", and that whatever happened its their choice and thus, their fault. I hope that more stories can be shared to the public, as it should be a safe environment to do so. Alcoholism, drug addiction, rape, infidelity, miscarriage, the pain of losing your children's support...having survived all that shows immense strength. I hope that others will be inspired to stay strong and not give up too. Thank you for sharing your story Demi.

    • @JessLudlam
      @JessLudlam 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      It's always a inspiring thing to see, people being completely open and real about their lives. Regardless of the judgment or backlash. Celebs have many ways of going after attention, fame, etc. So why would they choose to share their darkest moments in life for any other reason than to help others and heal within themselves? Anyone who has experienced any relatable hardships, can see the genuine heart in this. It's always very clear to most of us, that the ones who like to bring negative attention to themselves and judge others harshly are the ones who truly have unresolved issues within themselves.

    • @JessLudlam
      @JessLudlam 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@bdlimea7018 I don't think they are heroes, just a good reminder they are human and had struggles as well. Not all of them come from wealth and had everything handed to them. We all like to put on our best face and appear put together, but underneath the facade is when you really get to know someone. It's incredibly hard to come out with all you've been through, when you know how cruel people can be. It's much easier to not talk about it and continue putting on a front, but when you open up for the world to see, is truly a sign of undeniable strength.
      Who wouldn't write a book to make money? Being open and healing while making money from sharing those struggles is a win win to me. Most celebs all write books at one time or another.

We so often think that those who are celebrities with fame and fortune live the ideal life. They have it all. They have nothing to complain about. How wrong we are. Demi Moore, as I’m sure so many others, have lived a hard life and just when you would think they have every reason not to get out of their heads and fail in life, they use that pain to move on and make a difference. And maybe I'm not the most talented, or the most intelligent, or the most beautiful, but it doesn't matter" Even though this thought was interrupted, all I have to say is YES! I struggle with this (in relation to so many things). We have to believe in ourselves to accomplish even the smallest things, and to do that we must throw away the idea that we have to be "the best"! • @lucymale6349
      @lucymale6349 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      No we should not. I think what she means is that when time passes, some people become a different person. They are not longer exactly who they were 20 years ago. When Demi was young her mother was neglectful. Then, I am assuming, that when her mother had Cancer, she was no longer the same person. I have Breast Cancer, and I can tell you that I am not the same person I was before the Cancer. But, at all cost, we should stay away from Toxic people. Especially if we have given them plenty of opportunities to change, and they keep coming back to hurt us yet again.

    • @Thegooob95
      @Thegooob95 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I’ve never liked that saying at all. Imagine behaving in a way you regard as reprehensible and once you actually realize how your actions could have hurt someone you make amends to never be that person again, but you’re human so you absolutely will fail again and again. But your attempts at redemption are waved away because you showed your “true colors”. No, you showed a color we all have, some just haven’t seen it in themselves yet. All that says is to someone is “you are the result of your worst mistake (s) and there’s nothing you can do to be better. Societies who don’t forgive become societies that fail at being human. Alsoa bunch of death and murder happens at the extremes. We must respect the beauty within everyone and judge accordingly to their actions and motives. In my book, if someone wrongs me, I recognize that I’m no saint, neither are they, but if they are genuine, honest about their mistakes, and work to be a better human, I wipe the slate clean and hope they would do the same for me. We need this kind of thought in our society, the internet has made us the ultimate judge of the mask people wear, so much to the point that we all wear masks and pretend we don’t. I love humanity and I love that we can be redeemed and I wish more people saw the world that way:)

    It's apparent that for most of her life, Demi has prized her privacy. She's not one to reveal her struggles or mistakes. Which makes this book & her interviews all the more incredible--she's revealing what she actually experienced all those years she pasted on a beautiful smile & hid her fears & struggles. Hi Ms. Moore, I am 55 yrs old and just wanted to tell you that I am your biggest fan! I have been there and back as well many times. I think you are the bravest person by writing this book. I could actually write a book myself about what I have been through, but I'm not as famous as you are so it would probably be a waste of time. ha ha. I have been reading your book and there are times where i can totally relate as to how you felt when things where, "bad". like I said i have been there as well. Thank you so much for putting it all on the line your book has really helped me alot.

      That Diane Sawyer has had some serious plastic surgery done. I didn't even recognize it. I kept reading the name and thought it was wrong.

    Wish I had had someone, a grandmother, a sister, a mother, an aunt, anybody to be there with me and for me, to be a mentor, a friend, a relative, and all of the things that people who are related to each other have in each other, but I did not.

      They say no man is an island. I do have God and he gave me a good husband but a woman needs other females in her life and family too.

    I love and appreciate her willingness to share her story for those of us that can relate!! Her story IS so many of our stories. Thank you Demi ❤️ I haven’t read the book yet, but I don’t get the vibe there is going to be blame and shame in there, which I admire. You can’t heal with blame in your heart. It’s best to stay on our side of the street and share our love, strength and hope. And I feel like she did that beautifully.
