@@sabb5829Yes, it truly is. It has taken 3/4 of my life to heal from the damage. Not completely, yet, as good as it will get. My mother allowed a wealthy guy in the area where I lived as a child, to molest me for the money he gave her. It started when I was 5 years old. When there was a presentation at school about places on your body that are very private, I realized what the man was doing was wrong. I was 12. I told him, the next time that my mother took me to his house, that if he ever touched me like that again, in my private places on my body, that I would tell a police man. My mother was very angry with me, limited the food I had for breakfast & dinner for the next month. When my weight was dropping people began asking questions, so, she had to start giving me enough food. I have 4 children of my own. I can't even imagine harming even one of my sweet babies ever.
I met Demi in Culver city. I was working for samitaur constructs in 2011-12. I was a parking booth attendant and would greet all sorts of people. I remember her being so down to earth it was unreal. Wow!! So amazingly sad. I just can't imagine how her mother put her own child through all of that. It's beyond heartbreaking. Just want to give Demi a hug.
Remember this as a parent or someone else in “authority” over a child… Even “just” ONE act of mistreatment of or abusing your power over a child can send their life spiraling on a completely different trajectory and affect their thoughts and who or what they will become. And please don’t fool yourself into thinking “Oh, they won’t remember this - they are too young.” I truly remember things from when I was learning how to walk, and there are many, many others that remember too. And even if they don’t remember, they will still be affected, but not know why they are behaving or thinking a certain way. As a person in authority, cultivate SELF-CONTROL.
I do agree. I even remember myself sitting on my father’s lap with a small blanket, may be am@ 2 yrs & I peed. Then my dad called my mom & told that. I do remember how gently they changed me & didn’t scold me. They r no more but I still feel their love. I remember hundreds of stuffs while I was a v young kid.
THIS!! People don't want to face the reality that all kids no matter how young or cute, are all "mini adults" - in the sense that they'll remember, and your treatment will always have an impact onto their true adulthood.
It's interesting how money doesn't buy happiness and I may not be rich but I did grow up in a stable household and that has helped me have a great life so far.
i think it is relevant when a woman talks about the things that were done to her-because she is famous people listen to her - next we have to start watching out for each other, famous or not.

It happens more often than many people realize. Even in todays world.
Brenda B I know it’s still heart breaking though
Brenda B I’m so sorry you had to go through that
@@FreeSpirit47 I am so sorry that you went through that horror.
I met Demi in Culver city. I was working for samitaur constructs in 2011-12. I was a parking booth attendant and would greet all sorts of people. I remember her being so down to earth it was unreal. She was so kind....and I remember thinking what has she gone through in life to make her so humble for the calibre of actor she is. I never forgot that. She is truly a beautiful woman inside as well as out. Love you Demi! And may your way to Jehovah....by any means necessary!
What is there to not be humble about. The more you have, the easier to be humble.
@@la381 what... "The more you have, the easier to be humble." Just cuz you typed something doesn't make it true... The LESS you have, the easier to be humble.

My mother pimped me out to her realtor at age 14 to avoid paying the commission. I feel ya, Demi. Its a hard thing to recon with.

I admire her so much! I can’t believe what she’s overcome...she’s a treasure for sharing her story. She’s making it possible for other unloved and abused girls to see there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Fuuuuuuuuck. All my respect to her. Money and fame don’t matter when you’re hurting from a painful childhood
meh...actually I think they do make a difference...
Due to other gifts and breaks that life's poker-game bestowed on her, she triumphed...most do not.
Most end up homeless/on drugs/ in/out/in prison.
Not on the Hollywood fucken A-list..
I would submit that she has received some compensation..
I have so much respect for her. I was a victim of the catholic church as a kid. Then became a delinquent in my teens, in and out of group homes. Then in my 20's I tried to act the part of an adult, but dealt with all my insecurities and anxieties with alcohol and drugs. Anyways now at age 31 I have one year sober, and my life has already drastically improved. Again, much respect to Demi.
Have you ever come forward with your story yet? Like have you pressed charges against the man or men that abused you?
Congratulations and Thank you for sharing your story.
@@goldenbowl1046 well my dude was an alter boy in my church, plus my baby sitter. I have no doubt that what he was doing to me, was happening to him to from the priest. But anyways I found out he blew his brains out when I was 13. Plus here in Boston, who ever the clergy was back then are still basically untouchable. Friends in high places type of thing. So there would be no point. I'm just trying to move on with my life.

Childhood trauma has destroyed my entire life.

Demi is so pretty. I love her long hair. Her green dress is very hippie Bohemian. Beautiful.
It's called a Kimono. It's not even remotely hippie Bohemian but it is an essential Japanese bedtime robe! Extremely comfortable to wear when you're lounging around in yer house doing not a fucking thing productive! Yep I got my first one in 1971 on the island of Okinawa, Japan when my foster family was stationed at Kadena Air Force Base. The sadness and shock were in her eyes when she was a little girl. It was all there long before she was a teenager. Her mother didn't protect her.
I’m becoming a fan of Demi, ... an honest lady.
That is awesome! Glad you joined the club. I have been a fan of her since I first watched her in St. Elmo's Fire. Which parallels her true life in some ways.

It almost feels like a dream and so very far away from 2022. I truly wish all kids could have grown up in my old neighborhood.
What you're talking about is a delusion. You had your experience, but your neighbourhood and those parents were the same as any other neighbourhood. There were terrible things going on that you were oblivious to and you should wake up. YOU just didn't experience them, but that was rare and very lucky.

The emptiness and hurt one receives in childhood is lifelong. Few people can discard it and fill the void that is created; however, some can find a way to manage the impact and become successful. It sounds like Bruce had a personality that blended well with her and made things somewhat balanced; I suspect that the children were / are angry at her for her behavior towards him after the split.
