It saddens me that so few people seem to grasp the absolutely mind boggling implication of the concept of the technium. Yes. Kelly rambles, and stutters, and speaks in a chaotic manner. But the idea that what we see as technology is a force of nature or rather an expression of nature being pulled toward ever increasing complexity through evolutionary processes just like the biological world because both are in essence nothing more than information, an expression of the same thing that seeks to evolve. It is an idea that is both scary and amazing. We ARE heading to a singularity, but just how it will play out, and what form life will take is incalculable and unknowable. Moves sciences a bit closer to religion, and I know how many people recoiled when I typed that. Information is life, life is information, it's only a theatre/interplay of expressions.
I like the the acknowledgement of technically having a dual nature of the good and the bad but what is lacking from this discussion is how certain technologies are destructive in the natural order of things on earth. I want here more about the development of technologies that support the natural order of earth. With the way of the world and the direction it seems to be going in it does make you question the significant of spirtuality specifically in terms of energies and the natural evolution of them.
well it doesnt make sense... like off course every new product have its own PLC and a evolution process comes with time. you just cant call it evolution of human life. Mutants might be an answer

Great conference. He introduces the term Technium and defines technology as the seventh kingdom of nature.

"We are serving more and more of technology to serve itself than to us."
