Hello everyone. I'm Dmitry. I helped Olga (Yury Fedin's daughter, she is now continuing to develop Fedin's throw technique) with translation of this video. Please note that I'm not a professional translator/voice over narrator, so there can be some issues with translation and etc. If you have some feedback regarding translation (misunderstood something for example or there are some terminology issues) please write right here in comments section, and I'll try to help. As for Yury Fedin, I had the honor to know him personally (unfortunately not so long) and he was literally the great man and axamplar in everything for me. I’ve been practicing this technique for a while and it’s more difficult than it looks. All in the feeling of the wrist. I’m very grateful for this video!
How is you practice progressing now? I normally do the push/slide technique but really want to learn the skanf technique.. I think I'm getting the "pull" feel but I'm having a hard time moving out past one meter at the moment.
@@enviticus I do fine from up to about 20 feet away. After that I have a difficult time getting enough force to be competent. I can even throw behind the back, but only at short distances. Only advice I can give is to start at a short distance and then progressively take a step back and throw until you aren’t confident. At that point take a step forward and practice your pulling technique until you feel confident to move back.
I've been throwing no spin the traditional way, and I found it way easier to do in the Skanf method,it simply transforms your arm into a complete new tool for propulsioning blades and any other object, also, the blade always sticks in the target
Damn, this is so complicated... and yet I see no one in the no-spin knife-throwing community throwing like him. So there is actually something to it and I'm happy his family and friends are eventually translating his vids. I would have gone and studied under Master Fedin a couple of years ago but the tuition fees were ridiculous. Hope his daughter offers tuition at some point.

I like this long ass video. I’ve tried to watch it a few times but 1.5x is the key. The ADHD is too strong otherwise.
I ve read a lot of reviews of Fedin saying it sounds like jumbo mumbi or whatever but what he says about angular momentum and reducing radius is provable in physics. The physiology science of tendon strength and elasticity is probably the more offensive part to western viewers but it sounds like the guy Pavel who introduced the kettlebell to the US way back when. Soviet sport /athletic science was just more advance than western contemporary science imho.
