- My very first video from House Plant Apothecary.
I have been literally growing house plants my entire life and for much of that time I felt like I was the odd man out. No one else that I knew was so passionate and obsessed with growing tropical plants as me.
This past year I began to realize that there was an entire community of nerds and passionate folks like me via TH-cam!
I have been reluctant to share because I wasn't sure if I really had enough interesting things to support a channel. I have now come to a point where I realize that I have many years of experience growing a tremendous number of plants as I worked in several botany collections while I was going to college for Horticulture. I grow both common an rare plants but really appreciate vintage and antique varieties. Please welcome me by showing your support as I work to launch this channel to become an engaging community and most of all teach others what I have learn.

Hello ! I love your channel! I would love to see your light set up. I live in Ohio and don’t have a lot of light in my home so I have been very reluctant to try growing certain plants because of my lighting situation. I need some advice on providing adequate light. Very, very impressed you have the most beautiful "Pepers" I've seen well done! Would you be willing to share what fertilizers you use . Like to see your LED set-up too. I am new to indoor plants started last year always had an outdoor garden the rules really change when they are in a pot. You can tell how naive I am starting with Peperomias, it is all Summer Rayne's fault and "Steve's Leaves".

FINALLY! I have found out what my mystery Peperomia is! A Trinervis!! It’s been driving me crazy - no one knew. I asked around at a couple nurseries, posted on IG. Thank you new-to-me YT person!
Mine has been so dang droopy. I have it in a north facing window that my other peps love & I’ve only watered it twice since Feb 26 when I got it. Any advice? Thx again, great video and collection.

I think peperomia pearl is probably my favorite plant ever.
ended up with a peperomia orba pixie lime that was labeled as a fern at the store. i was skeptical that it was a fern of any kind, but it was cute so i got it and started looking it up. took forever to find out what it actually was, but i'm glad i did so i know more about what kind of care it needs. i would have otherwise have watered it when it really didn't need or want it
Watching your video makes me want to try growing peperomia again. I bought one 2 years ago but it died because I don't know how to take care of it.

I'm guessing you probably already know by now but I think your peperomia with the ruffled edges is a Peperomia caperata Harmony’s Midnight Wave.
Nice collection. My p. Rugosa is a pain, I learned it loves high humidity and does not like to dry out completely compared to my other peperomias.

Very nice collection! I'm still struggling with maintaining the Ripples, these tend to droop often.
If they wilt often repot into new soil as I have found that when they get pot bound they dry out super quick.
Ahhhh. Ok I was trying to leave mine in nursery pot. It keeps looking sad & it’s draining water super quick. I’ll repot tomorrow.

Gorgeous collection! You mentioned purchasing a few at Steve's Leaves, but where would you recommed purchasing ripple varieties such as pink lady and varigata?
There doesn't appear to be great sources online for these. Quite honestly I have found all of them locally at what I consider Big chain establishments, but if you live in an area that doesn't have these I'd suggest ordering them off Ebay as I have seen a good selection listed on there often. Wishing you good plant hunting!
Ebay would be my only online source. I personally found all of my ripple varieties from local nurseries that specialize in tropical houseplants.
