Her diary at the time described the things she says here as entirely false. She was very unhappy, poor soul. Watch the documentary in full if you have time. The hero of this troubling story is Jeremiah Newton, who was a loyal, loving and wholly supportive friend to Candy until her death, and forever after. Bless them both.
I would not say it was false. It was true but usually artists have, should have, a second layer underneath it....stability, joy, you know who you are, what you are..... That was all missing in her.... What was left was her wishes as thin and fragil as a flys wings.
@@GabrielNicho I think the Gore Vidal novel is a great piece of satire, but the film adaptation completely misses the mark. If it had been in the hands of a more component, stylish director, it would have been better.

For cryin' out loud! How, in what grammar class, but you other two, did he say anything wrong?!?! She is a guy playing a woman! That's all he said , besides complimenting "her" that she was beautiful. But you are the snarky, persnickety ones! You get sooo butt hurt over nothing!: Listen up! You know why Candy was a "good actress"? She was a good actress because she didn't call attention to her transgender role! She lived her life and didn't want notoriety for being "trans", but notoriety for being a good person and actress! Let that be a lesson to ya!😘drop🎤 P.S.--- how she died may be something to investigate. Did she get hormone injections? Lymphoma? Just sayin'! I am sure that her death caused those doctors some fear, or at least should have. So, maybe hormone tx has gotten better thanks to guinea pigs, like poor Candy. You need to keep an open mind when looking at these issues and stop going on just feelings. Facts and truth matter! Those are things we can't change. No matter how hard you try!
How do you mistreat a person that has passed away? For goodness sake! How long a go did she die? You just need something to blow your horn over! Stop pickin'!
her voice is so beautiful

Living a lie about your sex and pumping yourself up with fake hormones is probably the reason for his unhappiness.

Candy was a beautiful artist.
Candy is so lovely in this. Lost far to soon.
Jackie is just great, as always ❤
Candy would have helping many unfamiliar with the varied spectrums in sexuality. She was personable & engaging..
Damn so tragic that she died at the early age of 29 year only 😥
she was beautiful.
Jackie’s trippin. Candy is all glamorous
I love her 💕 ❤ ♥
Classy so pretty too
Yes it’s candy and Jackie curtis
I glad she is happy after so many years.... becuase she is famous and a great actrees.
Jackie Curtis looks really cute. A bit of a resemblance to Emma Stone.
I'd have married her. Okay, I'd have gotten arrested too, but, whatever...
Same!
She was absolutely beautiful
He gave great head🥒🥴 but didn't lose hi
Do you like p#nises ? 🤢
Candy Darling was so pretty and died young she should of played the part of Myra Breckinridge instead Raquel Welch
Myra Breckinridge has been voted one of the worst films ever made, I'm pretty sure it was a good thing she missed it =P
I’d kill to see Candy and Mae West in a scene or just interacting in general!

@@GabrielNicho It was camp and filmed exactly the way it was meant to be portrayed.
@@variousJnames And....that goes against anything I said how? I just said it's considered one of the worst movies of all time....which it is..
They both made their mark in their time. & have become trail blazers for many now. To be themselves. & to thrive.
Kudos to them both🙏.

Having to hope that someone, anybody might love you, that's an indescribable kind of loneliness
Lana wishes she could be her
Lana who and why would they wish to be a man pretending to be female?
Del Ray?
@@kevincampbell5785 yes I feel like she tries to emulate candy’s voice, maybe more so like 12 years ago
Jackie Curtis sitting next to her
In the back room she was everybody's darling! Doo doo doo take a walk on the wildside! 🎶
LOVE JACKIES HAT👲👲👲👲😂😂
How come all Warhols superstars died young?
Mostly speed or heroin. In Candy's case it was lymphoma presumed to be from carcinogenic hormones if I'm remembering correctly.
Lana del rey sounds like her ❤️
Were either of them at Stonewall
daddy's home darling
Warhol chick?
yes
Warhol chic.

Candy's ok. But Jackie in the background stole the scene!
She’s just speeding away
Jackie was brilliant!
I know we are supposed to think that she was brilliant and amazing - but has any one ever heard a more bland and mindless interview than this?
It's typical superficial shit of what a man thinks a woman wants and sounds like
Candy was a great comedienne, with perfect timing. Her reply here is clever and wry.

Jackie's face looked like it was hit by a truck compared to Candy Darling
Jackie didn't need the looks. Jackie had the brains. A phenomenal playwright.
A materialistic man .XY .
He's an amazing actor. His being able to convincingly portray a woman is quite a feat.
Why go out of your way to mistreat a deceased woman that has never done anything to you...
@@ralapeit0 I agree. There relentless with the snarky and condescending comments about Trans Women. They don't even let the deceased Rest In Peace.
That is a woman😭
