Holly was such a great physical actress. The bit with the beer in the drawer. So funny. But she was also quite witty and insanely charming. 💗 "A mathematician I am not ". I use that line regularly and give Holly credit to anyone who'll listen. R.I.P Miss Woodlawn.
lol - i love that line as well. It was a favourite of a friend - Paul Lonergan who I wrote about in The Real World - www.amazon.com/Real-World-Gary-Comenas/dp/0998279366
Holly is so eccentric and glamorous! She truly has serious comedic skills. I wish I knew her personally. She seems like a hoot to be around. A person who could brighten up anybody's day.
In terms of characterisation, this is the most amazing personality I have ever seen. I am quite surprised that I have never parodied this before, for my art.
"Do you think you'll ever do Shakespeare?" and the questions the interviewer asks--OMG! He's so serious, and Holly is like "You're asking me these questions?" "A mathematician I am not!" which she answers completely honestly. I'm sure no one had asked her these questions before. Thanks for posting this amazing interview. I agree with Carmen FT in the comments--when she pulls the Bud out of the drawer and sips! OMG. . .
@@antonhaq3503 Yes it is. She was great when I moderated a panel discussion with her, Bibbe Hansen and Mary Woronov at the Hayward Gallery years ago which I wrote about in my book, The Real World. I've cited from her book on warholstars.org extensively.
Rest in peace Ms. Woodlawn. You made me laugh and I still can't take out the Trash after you immortalized it. Maybe I'm just lazy. Nope. That isn't it. So I will continue to use you as an excuse if that's alright. Now burn bright and shine down on us all like the star that you are...
OMG... such a funny interview! I wish we had access to this in 1989 when we were writing "A Low Life in High Heels." Whatever happened to the movie she's talking about? And who is the interviewer?
Fun! I've now seen her in two documentaries, both times she has really gone out of her way to say something very flattering and kind, really sick of bitchy people, she is a breathe of fresh air!
Along with Divine and Candy Darling,a drag queen I wish I'd known.Blue eye shadow, double smoking and that appealing Latina/Puerto Rican personality are a magical combination.
"Thank God they do, otherwise I'd be fighting in Vietnam." Lol

if she was growing up in this generation there’s no doubt she’d be an excellent comedian
"I already solved it.. Oh the war?" LOL!!
"A mathmetician i am not. "
In terms of characterisation, this is the most amazing personality I have ever seen. I am quite surprised that I have never parodied this before, for my art.
Hilarious! Loved how she took a quick swig from the beer in the drawer.
She brought pride to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷🇵🇷

this is one of the best interviews i have ever seen
Absolutely hilarious. It's inexplicable why Holly isn't a household name, God bless her.
Well, Lou Reed's song Walk on the Wild Side, is extremely well known - including as music in tv adverts - and much of it is about Holly.
@@gary_comenas Her book A Low Life In High Heels is a great read

R.I.P. Holly Woodlawn
"I would never have s*x with a group!"
"Even in a movie?"
"Well, if it's in the script yeah. Of course!"

NEVER FORGET YOU HOLLY WOODLAWN!!
A blip of ingenious time that will never come again. Holly Woodlawn is an icon.
0:58 "I would NEVER have sex with a group.....but if it's in the script (of a movie) yeah, of course"
the best thing on You Tube.
thanks for making my day ,Gary
this guys asking some weird questions LOL Holly is brilliant.
Word she is fr trolling him LOL
That’s the point, it’s a purposefully kitschy “interview”…
The interviewer really went right from “what is your opinion on the Vietnam war” to “is it against a man’s rights to get circumcised”
Holly, I love you so much! You will always be in my heart!
The bit with the beer in the drawer remind me Audrey Hepburn with her sohes in the fridge! 😂❤
Rest in Peace Holly Woodlawn. love, Emily
One of a kind--RIP Ms Woodlawn.
RIP an American Original
RIP Holly I will miss you 😘 My favorite Warhol superstar a true living artist & hilarious person ✌️️ #HollyWoodlawn #AndyWarhol #SuperStar #NYCLegend

I'm pretty sure I'm the only 13 year old girl who is absolutely amazed By Holly! I love her and her comedic talent is so on point.

OMG Gary this is magnificent!!! Thanks for posting it! Do you know the date? 197?
Does anyone have any context for this interview?
RIP Holly love you.
“what were you before you were an actress” “a BUM”
despite her apparently not knowing it, holly would make an increeeeeedible hamlet
things never really change, that's good.
What is this taken from? I'd like to see the rest of this film.
Holly is nuts!! love it! lol
"a mathematician i am not. uwuo"

I..FUCKING....LOVE IT.
Holly was my favorite Warhol superstar ❤🎉
What year is this?

Love it, love it, love it!
She's so funny. And cute. A lot of star quality.
why do I wanna see Gaga play her in a bio pic now lol
Oh yes, another cis woman playing a transwoman, what a great idea 😑
delightfully fascinating!

Tweaking hard - but her makeup is still fresh. Icon.
good by my friend 10/26/46--12/6/15
Bat shit crazy
Pure genius.
“What were you before you became an actress?” - “A bum!”
God she’s so cool
Okay that was weird to watch today , must have been weirder in the 70's. Or maybe people didn't give a feck.
2:47 to 3:07 is incredibly amazing!
She looks like Violet Chachki
don’t insult holly like that homie
I can't stop imagining Martin Short as Holly. Would be a spot on imitation.
THE GLORIOUS MOMENTS OF THE BLOW
3:16 🚬👸🏻
3:30-4:08 is the most genius thing I've ever seen
I think one is a joint and the other is a cigarette... plus doesn't she say "a bum?"
No drugs were used during this interview🙄.
Damn‼️
so is this her schtick, or is she actually extremely high, or both?
How could you not love him?!
gorgeous
lol!
To be or not..
