I love the contrast over how they speak with big and important words but are also so slow and forgetful in their speech, like they're dumb as rocks but someone gave them a thesaurus.
They are basically prehistoric sea cockroaches having a conversation while doing the equivalent of walking around a kitchen looking for food. The speech pattern avoids vagueness while using a few distinct words as possible. Words only become stretched out with multiple meanings if the words are being used to describe a wide variety of ideas. The Trilobytes have tiny brains that can only form certain limited thoughts, so their "words" don't get stretched out and still only have narrow, non-overlapping meanings. Someone with a Ph.D. is translating their thoughts into language and choosing the most precise word for every idea. There should be no synonyms, though the overlap between "edible material" and "snack" might be allowable given how food-oriented they would be. Some anthropomorphic ideas did creep into script though. The Trilobytes shouldn't be trying to teach each other lessons or pointing with legs. Corp should have smelled his buddy's last meal on him and followed a scent trail to it. He should be saying "You are poorly nourished. I should not follow you." Corp's buddy should have smelled Corp with his antenna and then decided to follow him because he is better nourished. Leadership isn't determined because they remember interacting with each other in the past. Also, even if they have good eyes, their eyes are pointed upwards and not forward. Having flat bodies close to the ground, they don't have the correct perspective to see off into the distance anyway. They should locate food by scent or feel and only very rarely by sight. The "flying ones" are more properly translated as "non-threatening shadows." The Trilobytes should also react to any threateningly-shaped shadows passing overhead just like cockroaches would today (though their efforts to run away might be comical because they are so slow unlike modern cockroaches). Edit: also the term "invertebrate" should be replaced by "worm." Proper vertebrates like we know them today weren't yet a thing in the Cambrian.

I do not have anything against politics, but things online with the political are out of control. Besides, I am just expressing how delightful this animation is.

The one crab that gets -SPOILERS- sounds like Bateman from American Psycho. A 'Crab Bateman', if you will, but can actually have something akin to a friendship.
I just realized that the reason Corb was getting so annoyed with the Opabinia was that he had misophonia to the sound of chewing like a lot of people do.
