    I would have to agree with your review. I had the 2021 fuel ex 7 for almost 7 months now and it was my first full suspension bike. My riding has progressed a lot since I bought it and I have ridden all sorts of black trails on it. So far, I haven't encountered a trail that I wasn't able to hit on this bike. I'm sure there are other bikes that can tame the gnar better in terms of the suspension feel but I haven't had any issues tackling anything within my area with this bike and my speed through the rough stuff has improved drastically as well. I love to ride technical steep downhills with this bike. I have upgraded the brakes however. Riding flow trails is excellent as well and the rear end is playful. This is an excellent first full sus bike.

    Just bought this bike unseen here in Michigan, delivery date is Apr 5th. I love the components on the 8 but the colors were not my favorite. Found a bike shop that has the 7 coming in and I paid it in full but started second guessing myself BUT not any More and the radioactive Red it's awesome. Came from a 2018 State 7 and love it but getting older (68) wanted to get something a tad forgiving. Great INFORMATION

I know on Trek's website it says it comes with the Shimano brakes from the factory, but I've also seen other videos of this bike and it has the Sram Guide brakes. Personally, I'm a Sram guy, and I would prefer to have the Sram brakes. Does it depend on where you live or the availability?

    How capable are these fuel Ex’s? I’m deciding between a Fuel Ex 7 and a Remedy 7 (same price). Their weights are very similar on paper, but is the remedy much harder to pedal? I do some quite aggressive trails (blacks and stuff) and also a little bit of road and tamer trails. Which one do you is for me as my only bike?

    • @jointz999
      @jointz999 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Harry, I am in the same situation as you. I tried to get the Remedy but only the Fuel Ex7 was in stock and got that and here's why. I don't do exclusively black trails, do about half single black, half blue/red and rarely double black. A mix of sanctioned trails and natural trails. I figured I'd get the Fuel and hit all those trails and see how it fares, as I was advised by guys who ride the area that the Fuel would handle the lot provided the skill level was on par. Could always upgrade to a 150mm front fork and into the Enduro bike territory and still maintain Trek warranty so felt the Fuel Ex7 was the better bet. That said, I could absolutely be justifying it simply because the Fuel was all that was available!
