The B3 by far in this demonstration is the superior sounding instrument to my ears, this demo reminds me of back in 1979/80 or so when my band mates said “we’re not going to help you move your Hammond B3 on its dollies .. or your Leslie anymore” Korg had just come out with its single manual CX3 so I was forced to keep the B3 at home and use the CX3, it worked .. but it was always a disappointment to play versus my B3. Around 86’ I married and moved and had to store my B3 at a friends due to our tiny house and that ‘friend’ sold my B3 and moved out of the country :( I’ve always missed it ever since. I too bought this iPad app but so far am not real tickled .. it has inspired me though to start shopping for another Hammond, this time I’m thinking a C3 and 122 like my childhood hero’s played .. I don’t know .. maybe it’s just a late midlife crisis. Just ordered a Moog expression pedal for the app .. maybe that’ll help. Thank you very much for the kind response. Of course nothing beats the real deal, and I got it when I was 16. At that time it WAS considered portable and I schlepped it into 4 different countries and up and down the US East Coast. No player on earth could detect any perceivable latency with that response.
TheIvoryman this is version 1.0......it’s this good now, it can only get better. I have had some issues with settings not being retained, but that is a minor concern. Jake have you tried running a different App and switching back and forth with Garage Band? Just wondering if Garage Band just won’t run in the background with any other App displayed on the screen. I have also heard that this initial release of B-3X is rather CPU hungry. When I play live, I often use other modules simultaneously that often have layers and splits going on with one keyboard while I might be playing organ on my other keyboard at the same time. Have never had any issues with Galileo organ. But, I certainly would prefer to have B-3X if my iPad could handle that. I have an iPad Pro.

Anyway, my main reason for using this is simple: in essence I now have a 2 lb. Hammond without any compromise. Hope this helps.
I wonder what the B3-X would sound like in comparison through those two Leslie 122's? I bet with some careful programing you could fool most if not all ears in blind tests carefully matching drawbars, EQ, and level. But then you'd have to still carry that 8 foot tower of speakers to your gigs. :-)

This is IK's B3X. I downloaded it about 25 minutes before I shot this video, that's how impressed I am with it. Compared to my B it's thisclose to the real deal. The speaker placement was less than ideal since the camera is placed next to my Leslie stack, but it holds up in my opinion. Since then they've made updates and having the ability to split one keyboard is golden. I had VB3 back in the day. But this is my goto under any condition (unless the house has a real tone wheel, then yes. I'll always want to move air and smell the tubes burning....)
