@RTPT424 but it does because you don't spoil a great rookie comeback with a dumb ass 2 point conversion after already struggling to score a redzone td..we held them to 6 points in the second half...we had all the momentum and could have easily won in overtime...but that wasn't the script
An important thing to note is that the saints had a change at D-Line Coaching this week due to Todd Grantham getting a job elsewhere and the D-Line performed the best they have in years. Sometimes it’s the chef not the Knife
@@JamesSkrmetta I noticed you held back on correcting the grammar here. Even in Mississippi, you know that you never say it that way. (I did go to school in Mississippi for the month of September 1965, before our house in Slidell was ready. It was the only time I saw a Whites-only water fountain in person. It was at my elementary school in a breezeway).
James I think you should try to look for more positive take aways from these games as opposed to saying this entire season will be pointless if the coaching staff is replaced. It goes without saying that if there is a whole new coaching staff everybody will be gone. We should approach this with the hope that rizzi stays for next year and can grow from there and what should we should look forward to going forward. Love the vids.
I think the lights were too bright for Haener. Whole family in the building, playing for his future, playing for Rizzi's future, lotta stuff that *rattled* him mentally. Last time he was starting I saw quick decision making, quick release of the ball, pocket awareness, throwing lasers, and taking shots downfield but he didn't seem to have the poise to do any of that yesterday. One of Rattler's strengths is he has that poise and we saw it in the last 2 minutes.
@ True, I selfishly would like Rizzi to remain, because I would like to see kubiak have another crack at it, a whole off-season of learning/building onto the playbook, I like the system.
I agree it can wait until later round, but we do need to work on it some. Not saying the oline is bad, but health consistency and depth we should address and look into later round addition
OT only really makes sense if this was a playoff game, since you don’t wanna lose off of one bad play call. Any other situation you’re trying to avoid injury and win the game outright.
It shows that people are stuck in the old way of football. Which doesn’t work. I even seen someone say why go for it we are not the lions. It’s like the lions have shown a great example of what going for 2pt or even the certain decision making does. Also it shows the NFL needs to start picking up on the new age of football. They need to start having real analytical teams showing the numbers during these decisions. Like I just don’t get why the NFL is moving slow
To add these so called commentators need to be taught a few things on analytics and understanding these decisions. Everybody needs to just learn together
Nice haircut. 2nd pt probability can be summarised as follows: Option A - 2 pt - Chance of converting 3 yards Option B - 1 pt conversion - Chance of conversion divided by either (depending on coin flip) stopping drive and then scoring or scoring drive. Option B has much more variables and has a less statistical chance, even though the PAT is more probable than the 2 pt Additionally tanking should be reserved solely for MMOs
Maaan you had me scared with all that Haener talk leading up to the game because you are usually spot on but when you said you wanted a receiver in this draft I knew that you Haener take was just a lapse in judgement. Receiver is absolutely the direction we need to take
Im ok for the 2 pts but hated the call. I just dont know why Miller was not in on the play to confuse the D. Why called for same play as the previous TD?
I'm not risk averse. I just know we have a 42.5% red zone offense and most of the big plays we've had against the commanders throughout the game were long throws.
In what alternate universe is the NFL 2-point conversion snapped from the 3 yard line? The simplest scenario is that there is a penalty against the offense (and that they did score the 2-point PAT) and the PAT is replayed from farther back. There could either be a pass interference call at the 3 or if there were multiple penalties that somehow had the ball placed at the 6 yard line, a defensive penalty could be enforced as half the distance penalty could get it placed at the 3 yard line as would a pass interference penalty that occurred at the 3 yard line. Mind you, this could only happen that one alternate metaverse, known as the SKRMETTA-VERSE. " This is the same SKRMETTA-VERSE where the Japanese puzzle SUDOKU is weirdly and ALWAY pronounced as a SUDUKU or "Sue DOO Koo" puzzle. I am beginning to think that DENNIS ALLEN has taken over James' TH-cam channel after a very successful plastic surgery to smooth out his skin from that of 52 year old outdoorsman to a 35-year old who has assiduously applied sunscreen to his face, so as to maintain that baby-smooth visage despite a faint but omnipresent 5 o'clock shadow. I'll take a Saints jersey with SKRMETTA #46 here's a link to Skrmetta at age 70 wearing the jersey. This is the Saint who broke NFL HOF Lance Alworth's 96 game reception streak by 11 games. I don't think it's melodramatic to say it's pretty damn rough to watch a guy's dreams die. In the moment, I wasn't sure what to do. But immediately afterward had no doubt. We almost fucking had it. I've seen far worse 2 pt. attempts. Plus, we had been rolling, and momentum is everything in football. AND the defense was softened after a good drive. You go for that shit every day, all day. Especially when it's game-winner.

That was one of the single WORST decisions that Kubiak has made as OC this year. You know how hard it is to score in the red zone. So not only do you have the short legnth of the redzone to score, you cut the width of it in half! THEN w the rollout you're basically like hey Commanders defense! Look what I'm about to do! Let me make it extremelly OBVIOUS and not do any type of trick, sneak, backflip, cartwheel, lets motion everyone to the right and if my one guy isn't open oh well we just lose!
