3s are the meta and you have to adapt to the meta in every sport but when 1 team 3s aren’t falling and the others are that leads to uncompetitive games. Most games if your down 20 plus going into the 4th the starting 5 are done.
A key problem is the NBA playoffs are too long and too many teams qualify, especially now with the play-in tournament. NFL and MLB playoffs last 4-5 weeks, while NBA playoffs is a solid 9 weeks with 20 teams in it for cripes sake. The NBA ratings are in the crapper because they've done it to themselves.
NBA didn’t really hit until they had storylines and larger than life characters. I think the overexposure of stars through social media affects their allure. I don’t think this can be stopped, so marketing of the league likely needs to change. What worked in the 80s and 90s doesn’t hit the same way now.
Correct again, James. If the teams and players don't care if they're winning the game or not. How can they expect fans to care? Only thing that can bring back the NBA is cutting the number of games down by at least a third. It increases the importance of the single game and makes the teams play for it harder. And that's what people wanna see. Best athletes in the world, getting after it with everything they have. Just like the NFL.
I simply think the answer to make the games matter is to have less regular season games. I would argue maybe 58 regular season games. The players are resting. Sometimes less is more, as more ratings would be generated. I agree with the all star game approach of having 1v1s or 3v3s.
You nailed it. We are in a New-Era, have to make the games mean something gotta introduce some type of build up now. They have to change the game so it could be more interesting not just in the end of the season.
I’d say watch Wembanyama. Hyper competitive with league changing capability. Plus a competitor like CP3 to sharpening his skills? San Antonio will mean something to the league before long.
Despite all the 3pt shooting in this era only 2 teams in this era are in the top 10 in scoring. Teams from the 70 - 90s have scored more pts than teams of today. Today basket ball is like being with a fast woman, no romance just toss it up until her time is up. There are only so many way you can shoot a 3. The last time I watched a NBA game the Warriors were Champions, David West was on the team. My nephew wife asked me what I thought of Curry I couldn't respond because I wasn't familiar with him only West because he played with the Hornets but I liked Klay Thompson's game he reminded me of a Scottie Pippen who could guard anybody. Looking at Curry and Thompson it looked like Chicago's offense only 3pts style. But it got boring, LBJ never entered a slam dunk contest I mean he should the way he travels during a game he might win.
We’re comparing apples to oranges with NBA MLB baseball has seen like a 35% increase in attendance idk the TV numbers but it’s nowhere near as bad as here
I honestly think the NBA plays too many games. Half the games are missing the star players because they rest them to prevent injury. NBA only gets fun during the playoffs.
People don’t even play 2k no more😂😂😂

I haven't been a big fan of the nba since 1998
Love to hear it
About time. Football is the superior sport. 😂💯

Im going to disagree as the Jordan era had record viewership and no political agendas.

Bring back cocaine and steroids and we gone see some freak athletes like we used to in the 90’s😂

1V1 tournament wouldn't work because of the egos you stated... Just wouldn't play in it if it meant they might get embarrassed
Physicality got taken out of the game and players are more hurt than ever. Best athletes in the world….😂
