    By far the best ballpark in the country, and I say this as a -totally not biased- Cardinals fan.

      Fan bias completely accepted! Thanks for watching! We hope you enjoyed!

      Yes indeed! Busch Stadium 3 is so nice and it’s because of the panoramic backdrop of the downtown and Gateway Arch. They did it right!

    I live right across the river in Granite City IL. Been a Cardinals fan since the day I was born. I try to go to as many games as possible. I love Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village. GO CARDINALS!

    Every time I attend a game at this venue, I ALWAYS get a ticket behind home plate up to the 1st base side! Best views you’ll ever see!

    We're going to opening day this year for the first time. I'm so pumped to finally see the Clydesdales march around the field in person!

    • @americanballparkroadtrip
      @americanballparkroadtrip  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have fun! We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed our visit! If you have time, take a detour down to Warm Springs Farm in Cooper County, Missouri. That's where the Clydesdales are bred and initially trained.

    Native St. Louisan here. I’ve been to all 3 Busch Stadiums (the first one, built in the early 1900’s was called Sportsman’s Park until Anheuser-Busch bought the team and stadium in 1954).
    Busch 2 was built in 1966, and was a circular, concrete cookie cutter right next to where the current Busch 3 stands. Busch 2 got incredibly hot in the summer, especially during the years it had AstroTurf. It was originally a grass field, but the hot summers and the Cardinal NFL Football team playing in August tore up the field, so they converted to artificial turf in the ‘70’s. In the last 9-10 years of its existence, they went back to grass, which helped a bit, but the tall enclosed design still held the heat.
    The current stadium, Busch 3, has an open, single deck outfield which provides more airflow and helps on those sultry days. Plus it gives a great view of the Gateway Arch, the Courthouse, and other downtown buildings.
    Busch 3 is not as scenic as Oracle Park in SF, or PNC in Pittsburgh. It’s not as iconic as Fenway or Wrigley. And it doesn’t have a lot of trendy bells and whistles. But its sight lines are great, there’s lots of things to do outside the stadium, and it’s just a solid, serviceable great place to enjoy a baseball game.

      It's amazing that you have been able to see each home of Cardinals baseball and have such vivid and fond recollections. Thank you so much for sharing them here! Every ballpark is special in its own way to the city and the fans and this incarnation of Busch Stadium is a perfect example of that!

    Im born and raised from St. Louis, MO and I had the opportunity to see the original Busch Stadium 2 before this one was built. On top of that I was able to work in this one from 2006-2008 got to see every home game and the players jogging in the park before games in normal clothes. It was truly amazing watching it being built and being able to experience the world series in 06. Best Ballpark and Fans! I live in Atlanta, Ga now and I MISS STL BASEBALL!

    My favorite place to be! I was lucky enough to be there for the last home game last season (2022) and see Waino and Yadis last game together as well as Alberts last home run at Busch. It was incredible!

      Amazing experience! Thanks for sharing it here and watching the episode! We felt lucky to get the tickets we did for the particular game we filmed and it turned out to be perfect day in every way except for Cincinnati taking the win.

    I see a lot of buildings near the ballpark. Is there any parking structures or spaces so people can park?

    • @OldRustySteele
      @OldRustySteele ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there are 2 parking garages which are 1 block away. Also several surface lots just south of the stadium.

    • @OldRustySteele
      @OldRustySteele ปีที่แล้ว

      You can see one of the 2 multi-story parking garages at 3:55. It’s the white building above the green and blue canopies.

    The metrolink is how crime spreads in St.Clair County

      We appreciate your input and commenting but this is a channel and video exclusively for baseball and ballpark travel content. We utilized imagery of the metro link system in this episode to show the accessibility to Busch Stadium from outlying areas.
