Bro or just stocked with supplies. But yeah also as an express swing... I never washed my truck we hired people to do that. You guys at brown get shafted but you know union...
Been at UPS for a year now on nights shift parking the trucks. Almost none of the drivers clean out their trucks. I always appreciate the ones that keep their truck clean.
@ I park the trucks in their correct spot as they arrive and I empty them out if the reload crew needs help. Night shift just unloads the trucks and separates the packages between outbound (stuff that is leaving the local area) and send again (stuff they needs to be redelivered the next day locally).
As a former mechanic for UPS, Hired in 87, when they used to have car washers, all the cars (package cars) trucks left the hubs looking good. How they have changed, the trucks look like crap on the road now. In those days I had touch up all Scratches too. Here’s a bit trivia, the brown paint in copyrighted, it’s called UPS Brwon.
Or is it a joke? I genuinely can't tell......... He literally said "Having a clean steering wheel is probably the most important part"............. That can not possibly be true
UPS guy. You rock, that is the way I have always taken care of my work vehicle , I operated a backhoe for 32 years and every Saturday or Sunday I took it to the self serve car wash! ( back in the day it was 25 cents for 3 minutes of wash time , I'd spend a few dollars worth of quarters) by the way, I went very early in the morning and I had the car wash owner's permission and after I was done I'd spend a few extra quarters to clean the wash stall.
I was a Metro Ground supervisor at my hub for 3 years and there were a few drivers that always had clean trucks, but I had seen someone be this thorough. Nice!
We love our UPS driver, he’s awesome. UPS drivers professionalism, and the pride they take in their trucks is unmatched. FedEx delivers to the wrong house, or the package is damaged, but UPS, they make sure it’s good
See employees like this is what every company needs this man that only takes care of the vehicle but also make sure it’s ready for the next day always thinking about customers and also clean cab helps people think straight
As a mechanic I now understand why every mt 45 has excessive battery corrosion and why they always need batteries. They are kept under those steps, there’s no seal to keep water out. $600 per battery and there are 2. If anyone’s wondering, these trucks are powered by a 6.0 Chevy v8 and a 4l80e trans with a factory shift kit installed
@@ZeldaNumber17 The batteries are $160 each according to my delivery sheet, and a little trickle of water isn't nearly as bad as the spray off the tire. I'll hose off the batteries as part of a PMI, then apply protective grease on the connections to keep them from corroding. The last UPS vehicles with a GM transmission were the garbage workhorse chassis cars, the Freightliners have an Allison. New ones have a 6.6 gas engine
Just curious if the 4L80E fixed the problems of the 4L60E? I had a 1997 truck that went through 3 transmissions and my bosses work van went through 2 of em.

He's just another millennial desperate to assert some tiny amount of control over his workday, without any true focus on the job itself. I've driven police cruisers and Greyhound buses and I praise God for the motor pool staff. They took care of everything... including fueling and cleaning. ❤
Drove a taxi years ago, and they offered free car washes to everybody! Sadly to me, I was the only one who really used it and loved the idea! Polished the dash and cleaned it to perfection! Had a great time!
Used to work Fed Ex Ground. On my off time always carried some glass cleaner and a spray bottle with water and dawn soap and a couple of microfiber towels. Occasionally would stop at a car wash and scrub spray the steps and flooring with soap and water. Can’t say I was appreciated for keeping it clean though lol
I'm glad I'm not the only one who cleans out my vehicle. I do have to switch constantly with my coworkers though, and I'll often find trash and debris from their shift. It's annoying. 😅
This is how you can tell this man has a great employer; he’s empowered to go the extra mile and care for not only his work but the environment of his coworkers and the customers; that’s what makes a billion-dollar brand. Take care of your people and they will take care of you!
I love that Sprayway brand of glass cleaner. I use it to clean the dash and console of my own car. It don’t leave any residue and makes the what should be shiny bright
As a detailer I do recommend sprayway glass cleaner for an overall solid choice, and using a cost effective and widely available all purpose cleaner like TuffStuff for plastic/vinyl and entryways. Water is not ideal for the interor 😛
these guys really are a different breed. My UPS guy is like the best. He’s consistent in his timing every day, super nice and always treats each package with care
HA! I run trash transfer. I haul about 25 ton of garbage 2-4 trips to the landfill every day. Honestly most of the dirt in my truck is just powdered wood and actual clay. But we gotta walk the top of the loads to tarp, so yeah, I'm knee deep in your garbage. Bathroom cleaner is what I use to wipe stuff down with. Same here, except I was a swing driver at Pepsi. I hated when drivers left trash and food in their trucks. I also hated cigarette smoke.
