Not going to lie, as a guy that love strong female characters, it’s sad to know how amazing a female character like Sakura is written in side novels, only to be illustrated as damsels in distress for male characters to shine in the main plot.
Sure sakura is strong, she is a god compared to normal shinobi but she is nothing compared to juubi madara or momshiki. Thats why naruto and sasuke always save her.

And the whole notion that she couldn’t fight because she was a medic is nothing but smoke, considering lady tsunade was already taking care of everyone in the village.

Tsunade is sakura's master of course tsunade going to be better until sakura surpasses her which she does. Plus sakura killed sasori and she damaged kaguya. Plus konohamru killing the pain did absolutly nothing cause he revived and that was the one kind of useful thing he did until boruto. Also sakura isnt that big of a main character kishimoto desided to focus on naruto and saskue instead and gave sakura a back seat

Sakura came from nothing, a regular civilian family where even her parents thought she didn’t deserve to be a Jonin. Yet, became the best medical ninja and strongest kunoichi in the series. Even creating 2 jutsus only she can use. My girl came a long way. She’s the definition of hard work and dedication.
A lot the characters in not come from powerful bloodline and still is powerful she's not special

People still overlook the fact that, when Sakura fought Shin, Sakura was still supposed to be in the hospital. She literally passed out from exhaustion. That should tell you how nerfed Sakura was in that fight. She was advised to stay in bed, but she sprinted to where Naruto and kids were from Konoha, landed a punch so fast that caught Shin offguard, and soloed Shin until Sasuke came. If Sakura was in normal to perfect condition, Shin would've died from the first punch or easily overwhelmed Shin in his hideout.
On top of that Sakura was "rusty" as she didn't go out on missions to often and wasn't training regularly. Yet she was still a badass
The best thing about sakura is her potential. She had so many things to develop, so many things to show and problems to solve (issues with parents and family which narusasu had nothing to do with for understandable reasons, uchi naru sakura as her 2nd personality (really interesting inner conflict between disciplined and hot-tempered sakuras), genjutsu training with Kurenai for example, earth and water jutsus, creating her own one, usinf a slug sage mode or something like that, caring about being a shinobi but not about your appearance, loving the person who treats you well, representing the idea of hard-working and loving yourself).
With naruto sakura definitely was herself (he was too; with hinata naruto is dumb and way calm) and, without a shadow of a doubt, he was a good couple for her.
She had a lot of things to study. Sakura could not just copy tsunade but become somebody like Orochimaru who knows a lot and can do a lot. Being the smartest among kakashi students haruno could have been the brain of team 7. Shikamaru would have been a great teacher of strategy for her. She could have befriended Lee with Hinata and neji, asked them to teach her taijutsu that also would have improved their relationship. So many interesting fights were not shown with her (itachi - genjutsu type, kabuto - medical ninja, sasuke - 5 kage sammit arc, konan - a talented woman vs a hard-working girl). Her friendship with Ino had an opportunity to make them soulmates just like naruto and sasuke, represented a sisterhood in this story. The relationship with uchiha would have been interesting too: she could have moved from an obsessive girl not able to tell him off to a lady being herself with her comrade and ready to punch this boy to bring him to life if he starts freezing up like the mc sometimes. Not only naruto but she also could have helped him change for the better and been that person who forgave him but stayed his good friend and believed in him, saw the light in sasuke.
My question: was it that difficult to write? Well, what am I talking about? Even her trainings and parents weren't shown in the manga, let alone something else. Sakura obviously is the biggest wasted potential of kishimoto

If she wasn’t nerfed she would have probably defeated shin before they came. And shin is semi madara LVL
In defense of og Sakura. She comes from a nonshinobi family who's parents constantly criticized her for trying to be a Shinobi. She fought to a draw with the heir of one of the three Shinobi houses meant to directly serve the hokage. She is amazing at chakra control beating even sulky boy with familicide kink older brother. Her healing jutsu saved members of the konoha 11 during the gara teacher ark. And she was only 12.

Ive always said this: the fact that she comes from no special clan, combined with the lack of kekkei genkai, it’s a given that she’d be average - useless in her early stages. She had no one to teach her and no prevalent nin history in her family! She is first a foremost a medical nin, and if we would start scaling “strength” based on TECHNICALITIES and not destructiveness, Sakura would easily be on top.
She is gifted with medical talents
Yeah just like Minato and jiraiya and Kabuto and also third raikage and might guy and rock Lee and others that came from no clan. And don't forget she's the student of a legendary Ninja so yeah not many people get that type of teacher or opportunity
@@lamar9616 Wrong, everyone you mentioned had someone to teach them from they were young. They all had someone to personally invest in them since they were about 10. Sakura is unparalleled in obtaining strength without intrinsic factors (i.e. tailed beasts, kekkei genkai or clan techniques) IN the shortest amount of time. She could easily 1v1 anyone you mentioned if they were both at 17-18 years old. (Save Lee, he’d have to enter to eighth gate to stand a chance against her). And again, if we should scale “strength” in terms of knowledge and technique, Sakura still surpasses them. She is first and FOREMOST a medical nin.

Light novel Sakura sounds like the Sakura we should have gotten in the main series but didn’t. Maybe she wouldn’t be such a meme if we had actually seen her do all of this stuff outside of side material that almost nobody’s heard about.

To be fair the anime adapts alot of it's material from light novels but refused to animate Sakura's one for some reason. You can blame the Studio Pierrot higher ups for not getting to see Sakura unleashed

I’ve always said that if Sakura would learn the 8 gates she would be unstoppable. She has enough chakra control to perfectly master the gates pretty quickly, and with the byakuya seal can negate most of the negative side effects of using the gates, potentially even the 8th gate.

Her character could’ve done more, but Kishimoto kept her on the sidelines healing. She did what she was supposed to do, in his eyes.

Sakura had potential, like the sasori fight, all her time healing people. She needed some bigger moments, maybe an elemental attack to rival Naruto and Sasuke.
Cause you can tell the power gap clearly in the war.

Sakura is a support character with offensive capabilities. But we all know that most of the time supports are neglected and connotate as weak even though supports are the backbone of a team. In order to have the best team you need to have a good support. This applies even in games such as MOBA and MMORPG.
Can confirm as arguably one of the best clerics in my level-bracket for a really crappy mmorpg’s server. Without me the party died instantly, and boy did they whine So Much when I eventually got too much agro that I died and had to catch up (because what’s keeping a player or two back to guard the healer? Nooo they just whine for heals and revives. Can’t be bothered to, y’know, actually Teamwork.)
…like I can either heal or try and chip away at what’s attacking me very, very slowly. I literally only have two attack skills guys, so I put my stats in constitution, wisdom, and dexterity. Strength really didn’t do shit since it’s legit just a basic attack and Yay A Skill’s Cooled Down.
Which Sakura didn’t have that problem. She had frikking Tsunade to train her to hold her own in combat situations. (Honestly imo? Sakura became interesting, while Naruto end especially Sasuke got super irritating. Okay We Get It you want them to basically be gods. But they’re not fun to watch anymore-it’s like watching the Writing Version of two red faced and snotty nosed kindergarteners trying to One-Up their rival with increasingly ludicrous “well I HAVE invincibility underwear!”/“well I HAVE laser eyes so strong it beats it!”/“Nuh-UH!!”

Think specifically when I Noped Out was the whole “my grandaughter’s in charge?! Is the village okay??” line intended as a joke. Like NAH. You do NOT diss Tsunade when she cleaned up Every Hokage’s Mess save Minato since Minato was already trying to make up for the Second’s Mess in the middle of a war. Arguably she’s the BEST hokage. Minato might’ve came close instead if he’d had the chance to live long enough vs, y’know, murdered in a kyubi attack. Funny how Obito causing the attack isn’t ever blamed on Minato but fans&canon try blaming Pain on Tsunade (when Pain was Jiriya’s Problem that Tsunade once again had to clean up, got KO’d, survived, then finish cleaning up + cleaning up Danzo’s Bullshit))

For real, Sakura is one of the most hard-working character in the show but people decide to ignore that. She doesn't come from a clan and didn't receive a good master from the get go. "But what about Minato and Jiraiya tho? " you would say. First, we don't know if they come from a clan or not, even if they don't, Jiraiya was the direct student of the third Hokage and got personally trained by the toads from a young age. Minato was a very talented shinobi who was Jiraiya's direct student. Their situations are not the same. Kakashi, her personal teacher didn't learn her anything useful, she had to beg Tsunade in order to learn true jutsus and look at how far she went in 3 years.
Katsuyu is MASSIVE! Like even larger than you described 😂 Katsuyu is so big that one person does not have the required chakra to summon it, which is why during the war it took both Tsunde and Sakura using their byakugou seal to summon only ONE-TENTH of Katsuyu's actual body!?! LIKE WHAT?? HOW BIG IS SHE???

I mean just do the math, they summoned 1/10 and it was around 50 metres, 50 × 10 = 500 metres, which is half the size of hagoromos susanoo, the ten tails and hashiramas 1000 hands thing so it really isn't that big

The problem is that they have never given her two or three big fights that highlights her strengths. I am talking about everything you mentioned in this video. She needs that epic moment, like to defined her family or something that puts it all together.
She did punch ninja god in the back of the head so hard that it broke her horn in the front and made her brain bleed out her nose, eventhough kaguya had a byakugan and definitely saw it coming. I feel like that's a very underrated feat.

It's the same concept has dropping a coin from a high-rise. People love to bring in that "feat" and put her on kaguya level or saying she speed blitzed her. It'd be different if she jumped from the ground and then popped in above her and punched her but let's be real, it ain't happening. take naruto and/or Sasuke out of the equation and you really think Sakura is going toe to toe with her or doing the same amount of damage trying to punch her face on solid ground? Sakura minutes prior was shitting her pants when kaguya floated past her towards naruto and Sasuke.

Naruto, the series, just screws over its own beginning aesop in every way and it drives me up the wall. "Hey, Naruto, it doesn't matter that you're an orphan who doesn't have a cool prestigious bloodline, if you work hard, you'll do well!" to "Hey, Naruto, you're basically god due to your bloodline."
If Naruto was actually about the virtues of hard work paying off, Sakura and Rock Lee would have been the main characters.

Sakura rescues naruto's from Zabuza’s assassination attack
2 - She protects his unconscious body in the forest of death from 4 sound ninjas
3 - She heals him from near death after he goes four tails mode vs Orochimaru
4 - She heals him from the poison on the kunai sasuke's holding.
5 - She heals his injuries and replenishes Naruto’s chakra multiple times during the shinobi war like four times.
6- She keeps Naruto alive long enough for Obito to put some bijuu back into Naruto after Madara steals the nine tails from him, which would have killed him instantly without her.
7-also she does rescue's sasuke which allows them to team up and prevents Naruto’s inevitable death
8- Punching Kaguya over the head prevented her from escaping their last-ditch plan, allowing them to win and rescuing them from any counter attack she had planned.
9 - She prevents him from bleeding to death by healing his arm (and also likely restores some of his very depleted chakra) after his fight with Sasuke
10 - During The Last, she spends three days refilling his chakra from almost absolute zero, both saving him and allowing him to save the world.
11 - When Shin got the drop on Naruto and Sasuke who were rusty and distracted, she dropped in and nearly killed Shin with one punch, rescuing both of them.

Sakura is literally my favorite character and I openly stan her all the time and always go on about how she’s actually become a pretty amazing character. She not only grew great ability wise, but her as a person has grew as well. She went from hating Naruto to slowly respecting him and even considering him probably more of a best friend than Ino ever was or could be again. I also always appreciate that she WANTED to become stronger and even pushed herself to some pretty amazing points of her growth and then some. She is determined, resilient, and smart, and has a very kind heart in Boruto. She’s literally the best female anime character that I know and a great role model in certain accepts. She is literally the embodiment of overachieving in a good way and I love that.
sadly, sakura overall was mediocre written. I get that you love her but in the show she got a bad treatment, mostly her nonsensical love towards sasuke that never ceased and got stronger for no reason.

Sakura truly had it rough because she was a main character that got treated like a glorified side one. She was average, not special in any way, lacked the resources like chakra to perform at the same level as most ninjas, yet got bodied by writing and those around her taking all the attention.
Sakura hardly got trained at all before the time skip because naruto was getting training from jiraiya and sasuke was being the favorite child for kakashi who btw didnt teach sakura ANYTHING like literally. Kakashi before the 3rd round of the chunin exams focused entirely on sasuke. He didnt give sakura any direction to improve herself, teach her any basic jutsu or genjutsu (like he said shed be good at), or even send her to anybody to get some special training. He completely abandonded her growth for sasuke and naruto. Sakura didnt really know her strengths at all and only until just before shippuden comes around that she finally gets trained. But this only happened because SHE took the initiative not kakashi or tsunade. Sakura had to make the move because nobody else pointed her in the right direction.Her strength before the 3rd round was completely stagnated because of how shitty of a sensei kakashi was to her. He never made time for her personally and only trained her when it also involved naruto and sasuke. Sakura could have been so much greater if her growth wasnt totally stunted by those in charge of helping her grow completely ignoring her existence and playing favorites. She would have been WAY better off with might guy because while he played favorites with rock lee (and that was understandable rock lee really needed it anyway) he still made plenty of time for neji and tenten both as a team and 1 on 1 training.

Then Kishimoto would have had to put actual work into genjutsu and we all know that wasn't happening unless you put it in a sharingan first.
If you ask me making Sakura the monstrosity powerfully and medically ninja that she is is the perfect choice. Nobody can come even close to her in terms of chackra control.. not even close, period. Yes she would have been amazing at genjutsu too but I get the feeling it would have been a little underwhelming while the Sharingan's level genjutsus existed in the world.. Could be wrong tough. Anyways I love Sakura just the way she is. A ridiculous powerhouse with insane capabilities control.. had she had any hidden talents or Kekke Genkai of her own she would have been limitless. She reminds me a little of Yoruichi from Bleach in a way. In terms of strenght at least.

Sakura as a medical-nin has served her role well, it’s just a plus that she can also fight really well because of her superhuman strength and extensive knowledge of medical ninjutsu that she learned from Tsunade. Also the mere fact that Sakura is not a descendant from any of the great clans of Konoha, it’s really a huge achievement for her to reach kage-level strength compared to Naruto and Sasuke who both came from impressive, almost royal bloodlines.
I mean, both Sasuke and Naruto come from royal bloodlines because the Uzumaki decends from Senju bloodline so yeah you get the point

At this point, what we really need is a proper anime adaptation of her novel, as close to the source material as possible, as well as references to those feats in Boruto so that they don't get marked as filler. She's only 'weak' because she's from civilian origins and on a team with reincarnations. Compared to those two, everyone else is basically useless too.
But i do wish we'd get more with either her fuinjutsu or something just to help her be more than Tsunade 2.0.

Sakura was not gifted with any of that, as she came from an ordinary civilian family. However, she trained with Tsunade and made her way up to the top of being the strongest kunoichi in her generation. She also had many accomplishments such as opening hospitals all around the nation's and orphanages; Sakura is the head of the medical department. This is why she is so underrated and overhated. Besides tht, Sakura may not be as strong as Naruto or Sasuke, but in comparison to the other characters in the show, she's really op.
Honestly, I know she gets a bad rep. But I've always appreciated her, ever since her tag team with Chiyo against Sasori fight. The series at times just doesn't give her slack, because everyone keeps comparing her to her more obviously offensive and flashy comrades (Naruto and Sasuke)

I've always had a theory about Sakura having a secret bloodline in the form of Inner Sakura. Who while played for laughs, was confirmed to be real. I've seen it as the source of her intellect and control. A secondary mind to take in information. To help her control. To break Genjutsu for her. Like an internal shadow clone that over time merged into her. Obviously never confirmed in any way but I think it's a fun theory and explains all her skills so well.

I think for me strong and powerful are two different thing. Sakura is the strongest even between Naruto and Sasuke. They are more powerful because of their heritage. I look at it like this. Also remember Naruto and sasuke would be dead without her. Sakura has always been my favorite character in the Naruto series, even in the beginning. She didn't come from a strong clan or was born with an innate jitsu. She had to rise from nothing and nothing was ever just handed to her. Yet she never gave up.
FINALLY. Someone who gets it!! I have always been a fan of Sakura, and her growth over the years. People who continue to insist she is Trash are people who just refuse to admit she could end Naruto and Sasuke at this point if she so chose to be serious in a fight with them. There is absolutely no way she could beat naruto or sasuke (not caught up on boruto, i know they get nerfed). Its hard to have this conversation because people seem to either think she solos the verse or loses to Konohamaru.
She was poorly written in the manga and show. She had some feats and did things in the background, but was completely overshadowed by naruto and sasuke leading people to continue calling her useless even into shippuden.
In shippuden, she goes from chuunin level to kage+ by the end. Unfortunately, naruto and sasuke end up kage+++ because of ass-pull powerups. I wish it were different, but she isnt comparable to them in terms of combat ability.

I have mad respect for Sakura. She didn’t come from a prestigious ninja family or have a source of unlimited chakra from birth. All she had were brains and determination. Sasuke and Naruto didn’t have to prove they were worthy of Orochimaru and Jiriya’s teachings, they just got it because they are an Uchiha/Jinjuriki. Sakura worked so hard and grew so much over the course of the show. She is the shining example of how hard work and diligence pay off, I just wish more people would see that.

I was in the Boruto subreddit the other day and saw a vs battle post between Adult Sakura and Pain arc sage mode Naruto. At this point, Sakura could literally walk up to Sasuke and restore his rinnegan, slap a byakugo seal on Naruto then proceed to solo Code and her own and people will still dunk on her.

I never realized how hard to summon Katsuyu was, I always assumed anyone with a contract with her could summon at least a tiny part of her. Random Shinobi in contract summons 5cm long Katsuyu is something I assumed possible. I guess I just took for granted how much she appeaars throughout the series being the only slug we ever see summoned compared to the numerous dogs, snakes, & frogs we see.
Well we know from the covers there are other Slugs out there but it could be to fully utilize Katsuyu specifically might be incredibly hard like how Gamabunta doesn't come for just anyone. I suspect Katsuyu is one of the slugs who is linked to Slug Sage mode (since we know not all Sage creatures can use Sage mode) and that whoever can use the seal can use an aspect of Slug sage mode.
I need to reread Sakura hiden novel, I've read it once on internet somewhere and I think I miss a lot of information, all I remember is that she broke her enemy 9 tales cloak by constantly punching and healing the same spot over and over again until the cloak could not regenerate anymore, and end it with a finisher blow.

Sakura truly has grown from her og Naruto early Shippuden self respect to her and her growth but I have a question on the genjutsu thing is she able to resist mangekyo genjutsu and by mangekyo I mean the two most powerful ones being tsukuyomi and kotoamatsukami I can maybe see her break out tsukuyomi if the split second timing doesn't get her or if not I'm sure she could recover from it with time but kotoamatsukami would she be able to notice that she's even under any genjutsu
I doubt she could break out of koto.. Certain sharingan genjutsus techniques are pretty much hax that don't even use chakra to control people they literally have jedi mind tricks.

It all goes back to what Iruka said Sakura was only smart but didn’t have strength and as og naruto goes on she learns and accepts that after naruto who always saved her got both stronger and smarter so she spends the 2 years training and gets stronger and then continues to for the rest of her life so I feel like what iruka said to her in chunin exams stuck with her for a long time it’s called character development lol its just not the best as kishimoto wasn’t good at writing females

I am so happy I stumbled upon this channel. I watched Naruto before One Piece and never got involved with any TH-camrs or really the Naruto community at large in general like I have with One Piece. This channel is the reason I am picking Boruto back up and more than likely the light novels as well. Thank you for the Sakura hype! I never really thought about how badass she actually is haha
