Maybe it’s because of my definite bias and liking towards the Hyuga’s, Neji and Hinata being two of my favourite characters in the whole series, I really think the Byakugan is underrated and you did a really good job shedding some light on it
Neji's death peeved me the most. He could have just used the palm rotation for the wood release! They could've done a dozen other things to give us a convincing death for Neji, but Kishimoto used the laziest one
The fact hisashi hiyashi ko ao neji hinata hanabi hamura kaguya momshiki and isshiki all have byakugan tells me it's more important than people let on....think about it the cloud village tried to steal hinata as a 3.5 year old the way they tried to steal kushina the rare uzumaki as well at a young age....the byakugan clearly was powerful and sought after before the series became about mechs it just wasn't as exciting as a plot point as the sharingan...

I think part of the reason why the Byakugan always feels a bit underdeveloped compared to the Sharingan is that we for the most part only ever see it used with the gentle fist, and that really limits it. I'm not arguing that the gentle fist doesnt make sense, or that it doesnt work well with the Byakugan, because it does. The issue here is a lack of variety. Imagine like a sniper type character using long range ninjutsu, while using the byakugan to see through walls and cover their blind spots while aiming. Or imagine someone using the 8 gates with the added vision of the Byakugan to guide them. Or using something like the lighting blade, with the byakugan functioning similar to the Sharingan to give more awarness of their surroundings. There is so much amazing room for variety with a technique that adds near perfect spacial awareness, but we only really see it used with a single fighting style. I'd call that a waste.
Neji according to data books has 3 Chakra nature's. And a skill in ninjutsu that rivals sasukes till itachis death. Both hiashi and hizashi have really good Nin skills(i.e curse mark caged bird is fuinn jutsu.) Hinata has fire and lightning. They have other skills. There lack of screen time and the plot kills there popularity
I agree with you on this! A sniper type with Byakugan would be powerful. A perfect assassin would be someone with long range wind element jutsu that also has a byakugan

Loads of missed oppertunities with the Byakugan and the Hyuga's signature expert control of their Chakra points. Think about this; chakra shape manipulation is a thing. It's the whole reason the rasengan works. So why haven't we seen an expert Hyuga just use shape manipulation to perform the palms rotation without having to actually twirl his body? Then they'd get a pseudo Shinra tensei without the 5 sec delay. And imagine a 8 trigrams 64 Vaccum palm. Shit would be insane. It's criminal that the true upper limits of power and applications for the Hyuga's powers was never explored.
The biggest irony in the entire series is Naruto signature move the shadow clone jutsu can easily be seen for what it is aka a gimmick by the byakugan...too bad everyone with the byakugan aka neji kaguya momoshiki and isshiki never seem to use it when shadow clones are being used so they get tricked and beat by it every time be it from Naruto Boruto or even Kawaki...guess we know why hinata chose naruto despite him being a terrible husband father and causing her so much pain and making her worry....shadow clones in bed my girls...am I right ara ara indeed...no wonder why they had two kids

I like the dojustsu at the end of Shippuden where they make the exploding people. Obviously it's filler or just not as important. But it's still cool to see some other major clans outside of the hidden leaf. Even if they are dead

9:57 wasnt boruto like 13 when he created vanishing rasengan, compressed rasengan and his own wind style rasengan? He also created his own combo attack with speed similar to a chidori (not fully mastered ofc. i dont think that it is the same speed as sasukes for example) before even becoming a genin.
Technically he didn't "create" a jutsu since its just a variation of the rasengan, but to revolutionize such an iconic jutsu at his age was just as impressive
I personaly think the vanishing rasengan counts as a new jutsu since works at a whole other way than a normal rasengan, like windstyle rasenshuriken for example. It is made with a rasengan but the difference from a normal rasengan is so big that it is like a new jutsu while still resembling the rasengan. The other ones are near being new justu. One thing is for sure, he is as much if a genius as minato or even more than him.
Byakugan seems very beneficial early on in Naruto but later on it seems kinda pointless to me. Sharingan seems useful early on and later on and it is just more powerful in general during the mid and end parts of the Naruto series. My opinion of the byakugan doesn’t include Otsutsuki users, which even their byakugans’ don’t seem that strong compared to Sharingan and Rinnegan. The only good part about the byakugan later on in the series is that it can make good long range observations and that it has the potential to be a tenseigan (I’m not sure if the Tenseigan is specifically for Toneri though so eh.) All in all the Byakugan gets beaten by a lot of abilities during the Middle and End of Shippuden like Sage Mode, Sharingan, Rinnegan, Byakugo Seal, and other kekkei genkais’
There's some of your opinions I agree with you , I really love byakugan and it's kinda disappointed that their abilities didn't excel more like other dojutsu. Should be more powerful or at least their power excel more but byakugan surely powerful especially kaguya's byakugan who can see emotion and can see far more than any byakugan and momoshiki who can read someone future and the filler dude otsutsuki fisherman also hint that he can see future through byakugan. So I think if kishimoto will focus this time on byakugan there's possibilities that byakugan also have a hidden abilities like baryon mode that just introduced in boruto. Or at least their byakugan have also like susano but to their are lion since the only figure It shown that created through byakugan is Lion. That should at least that they can create a gigantic lion like a tailed beast like sharingan user who have susanoo but different style and color.
The real power of Byakugan users is chakra suppression and unrivalled taijutsu, (Kaguya shut down Susanoo and bijuu mode with ease using chakra fists) problem is Kishimoto shat on them like he did many other characters.
So I don’t think it’s canon but it was in the anime so I think it’s worth mentioning. I can’t remember if it was just a filler or part of the Tsukuyomi arc, but Hizashi Hyuga was reanimated, and he actually uses space time ninjutsu to kidnap and talk with Neji. Toneri, Momoshiki, and I think Urashiki as well, claim to have seen the future with their byakugan. And while I was rewatching the kaguya story arc, she does some type of jutsu that’s similar to almighty push that incapacitated her targets and sent them flying. Also don’t know if it was her byakugan or not but it also gave her the ability to mind control her son, Hamura.

Most cities aren't that big. The capacity for spying. Infiltration tracking. The fact gentla fist breaks anything made of Chakra. The eye has superior sight powers in all the areas sharingan excels. Including the abilities it uses to copy other jutsu. So ya. They also posses elements and ninjutsu even tho we don't get to see it in show. I love byackugan
there was one other ability the byakugan had where the user can focus their eyes on their target and restrict the chakra of their opponents and essentially kill them.

Basically every sight ability sharingan possess is extreme in byakugans case they can see slo motion to. Many don't think they can. But yes they can. Neji could see Lee in gates during chunin exams. Also and this may just be a oversight by author. But the sharingan uses the eye of insight also known as the piercing eye to copy. Byakugans peircing eye according to kakashi is superior. After all the reason Uchiha can copy is there eye gives them the info to see how a move is performed. The Chakra requirements i.e control etc. The byackugan sees Chakra better. Every individual point it flows through So there ability to see how jutsu are performed and the weakness of said jutsu is second to none in this show. Hyuga also have ninjutsu skills. Neji was neck and neck with Sasuke in ninjutsu skill according to databooks till itachi died... Also gental fist is likely a yin yang release as it destroys Chakra. Hinata broke peins black rods. Which as we know are yin yang release. Also this eye is genjutsu resistant. Just like sharingan. The blind spot is no bigger than a baseball. Neji could see at a min. Of 800 meters in shippuden. Hinata by boruto can see 20 km. So ya a eye that has a 359 xray telescopic (up to 20 km) slo motion vision. That can also see the energy of there oponents... not broken at all right...lol And because it breaks Chakra it can break any ninjutsu that uses Chakra. I.e susano. Thats how kaguya broke sasukes. Basically this eye is the ultimate sensory power in anime. And I've seen some truly powerful sensor skills. I.e Galatea and Teresa in Claymore. Gyokuros enemy zero in rosario vampires manga. Byackugan is up there. There perception is so fine tune that they can damn near read the thoughts feelings and emotions of those there eyes are looking at.

Its overlooked that sasuke with the sharingan lost to lee with 1 maybe 2 gates open and lee said he was saving gate 3 to beat neji. So the byakugan must have similar increaed perception reaction ability as the sharingan.
Let's not forget that the Byakugan can also be golden coloured, or light blue, its color can seemingly vary depending on the user's eye color... That's very nice if you ask me... it adds a little more of personalization.
What about protecting 8 trigrams 64 palms Also I really hope himawari get some of her grandparents abilities like the adamintine chains/ sealing abilities of the uzamaki or the flying raijin because then maybe we could see 8 trigrams 256 palms in action .
People forget neji hisashi and hinata were fighting for days and fought neji dad so they were tired as was naruto after using all his clones and rasen shuriken..the fact was the ten tails uses nature sage chakra and wood style is op....neji never had a chance...hinata was noble but neji realized both her and naruto would die if she got hit and he was the key to winning the war so he had to take the hit....

Id actually take byakugan if we're talking real life everyday usage because peeps with the rinnigan aren't summoning meteors all day in everyday life, but having almost 360 degree vision being able to see for miles and seeing through stuff sounds fun

Ehhh. He could just learn sage mode. That basically gives you a byakugan. Like you can sense people all around you over a decent area. It's that good naruto could stright off fight invisible madaras.
You forgot to mention that theh Byakugan similar to the Rinnegan usually manifests as their permanent eyes meaning unlike the Sharingan you know the person has it even before they use them with I believe the only exception being Himawari who's act more like Sharingan in that they manifest from her regular eyes only when activated

To be fair, the byakugan shits all over the sharingan and and rinnegan. Neither can come close to giving xray vision in 360*, with one user able to see AT LEAST 10km. And they were not one of the most powerful of the clan. Not to mention the more detailed Chakra view could probably allow you to copy justu as well, as that's how the sharingan copying works. Except the sharingan let's you do it easily, where you would have to train for that. After all if you can see their Chakra, and their seals, you could copy the Chakra movements, theoretically at least. And with enough training, you could use the movement of others muscles to see where they are going. The sharingan may do this without training, but it's doable with the byakugan. There are many creative uses.
Finally someone else notices that byackugan can copy. I've been saying that for years. I've left several comments on hear about that. Also due to its superior vision. It could proly copy better. Finally someone noticed. And it wouldn't actually require to much A base byackugan has better vision than a 3 tomoe sharingan
@@r.a.panimefan2109 I agree. Everyone sees all the stuff the Sharingan gives the user for mostly free, aside from trauma, but the byakugan has so many creative uses. It really sucks that everyone never really thinks about just what the byakugan could be used for with some critical thinking.
Agreed. Don't forget that being able to see chakra would give them a better understanding on how chakra works, allowing for complex chakra control and the ability alter or create ninjutsu. Plus senjutsu would be easier to learn.

Yes, I don't think we know how old Minato was when he created the Rasengan, so I always assumed that it was Kakashi, at at most 12 years old, was the youngest jutsu creator.

Being honest as a Neji fan I know they could have executed his death much better. I know they used it as bridge too form the naruto hinata relationship. Based off the fact he knew 3 chakra natures, how much his byakugan had evolved, and his prowess as a prodigy, I think it would have been more meaningful if they let him fight wit gai and lee vs madara using that time frame for naruto somehow slipping in and he risk his live to save him in that situation after showing the extent of his skills as a jonin, with his reasoning for saving naruto being he knows hinata loves him, and he could have said something to this affect still encouraging that future relationship. if they were gonna kill him, still think boruto being trained by neji would''ve been amazing, and as much as i like konohomaru neji as the squad leader would have felt more suitable for team 7 of the next gen. Plus unlike when shikamary became junin we didn't get to see neji really lead a team
Going to be honest didnt read all of the text but in my head canon, the Hyuga are forbidden from using any techniques other than byakugan based ones, granted that is just head canon but it is why i think Neji never used his chakra natures
@@psio123 That could make sense, but hinata made the water needles so I think they could he could have made some techniques based off it. Like one of his chakra natures for example i believe was earth so he could have maybe used it in combination with the trigrams palms a technique where when they step in range it activates a justsu that would trap their feet so they can't avoid the attack. The other nature was fire so he could have made fire needles or maybe he could have combined that with the gale palm adding the fire to make it add to the damage and create a cover for the intial purpose of the gale palm making it look like a basic fire justu. Another concept is maybe he condense chakra of fire nature to a very small point at the finger and with a direct hit it pours the chakra into the body spreading it thru the points finally flames bursting out thru each charka point of the body. I feel they really could have had him expand on the justu of the hyuga clan as well as them making one of his purposes to show the clan that they should be united instead of a higher lower branch system, or maybe instead gains permission to create and find new methods to enhance the justus of the hyuga. of course this all just what i wish could've happened but your likely correct with your assumption as to why he didnt use those chakra natures.

Momoshiki demonstrated the ability to see others fates with his. I think it is the most slept on eye ability that frankly is the best eye ability. Born with it. You don’t sprout special chakra that has the possibility of insanity with it. Yes sharingan can predict movement and all but byakugan can see fate and thoughts and memories it’s got to be just as effective at prediction. The only thing it truely lacks is the copy ability and a freaking avatar like tailed beast mode or susanoo. That can be overcame with summons and other things though. Then the tensigan. I would have loved for boruto instead to have a byakugan that he ended up having to develop into that. But it would have been way to over powered I think. It would make a cool video though.

Honestly Byakugan was always my favorite of the three Gojutsu, I don't even know why i can fully admit the sharingan looks a bit cooler (Rinnegan is kinda eh 50/50 on it). I always felt kinda cheated the fact Sharingans keep getting more and more abilities but Byakugans where practically forgotten about. Hell most of it's "abilieis" are really just abilities that where created to work with it. Personally i feel it could have been Waaay stronger and had many more interesting abilities. However baring that! The abilities it does have are not explored enough or used well in further arcs. (Also fun aside i made YEARS! ago like before the time-skip an OC character that was a Hyuuga that used bokutō to extend the range of his strikes, and was trying to develop a new form of "gentle fist". Because i wanted to explore more options of what the Byakugan and related fighting style could do).
An interesting "manga only" ability of the byakugan used by Kaguya, was extending the range of genjutsu. The anime had her open a portal to a moon, because earth moon wasn't made yet (kaguya is earths moon, or at the center of it) to cast infinite tsukuyomi. In the manga, anyone caught within the range of her byakugan, which is watch over entire nations, which she cast the genjutsu fell under it. The byakugan could easily be advantageous to any jutsu type be it taijutsu, ninjutsu, or genjutsu
I love how people don't realize hinata had wind lightning and even fire release as a hyuga and hamura descendant and that's why boruto knows lightning style...her clans logo is a red semi cloud in a yellow circle which was on the side arm of her hoodie uniform as a 12 year old kid..it actually makes sense...boruto even shouts hamura when using fire release from the scientific ninja tool vs momoshiki...ironic isn't it....people don't seem to realize this...hinata created the twin lion fists using lightning and wind releases at the same time...the way naruto created the rasen shuriken...because we never see hyuga use fire style we never realized they created fire style not the uchihas who use it all the time...ironically....

I feel like at least in the anime, neji could have lived that but chose not to. Didnt he sacrifice himself to make up for his wrong doing on how he treated Hinata? A lot of these aren’t actually Byakugan abilities as opposed to abilities that are are executed to their fullest potential due to the Byakugan. Kind of like how Gojo can utilize Limitless to its full potential due to the Six Eyes.
N.c. hammer. I subscribed to you cuase of your theories. I really wished u would have debunked some of the byackugan misconceptions. Floating around. The plot does the hyuga very dirty. This eye can also track high-speed objects. It's evident and clear as daylight in neji vs kidomaru. Neji was able to see Lee in 5th gate like kakashi could. It has the ability to see fine details too Without those things seeing 360 degrees wouldn't have helped neji much against kidomaru. Quite simply Naruto should have never beaten neji. There was no way Naruto was any faster than weightless Lee in that fight. And Lee flat stated the gates were required for neji. It sad people don't realize this. The byackugan is superior to the sharingan in every category were eyesight is involved. In jutsu perception all the way to basic reaction. Also I personally think gental fist is using yin yang release. After all it destroys Chakra made substances. Hinata destroyed the black rods which we know was almost indestructible. I argued with a friend about the discrepancy with the piercing eye and how byackugan by the logic presented should have copying capabilities. All the info is there I think many people simple don't like it cuase it lowers sharingans uniqueness. Also if u notice after all the konoha 12 intros. And orochimaru and hokage etc. They suddenly show itachi. Because it was easier to write that and that's why kakashi was weaker. Than to have actual more skill involved. This also started that trend of everything a Uchiha is in trouble. Boom power up 💥
I always disliked how the Byakugan never got any play.
And then when they do give it the spotlight they make achieving that power up almost impossible overall and literally impossible for any of the main cast to get it unless boruto actually becomes an otsutsuki

I think the Byakugan is capable of so much more than we have seen, it's just the focus is on Sharingan and Rinnegan the whole series
The fact hisashi hiyashi ko ao neji hinata hanabi hamura kaguya momshiki and isshiki all have byakugan tells me it's more important than people let on....think about it the cloud village tried to steal hinata as a 3.5 year old the way they tried to steal kushina the rare uzumaki as well at a young age....the byakugan clearly was powerful and sought after before the series became about mechs it just wasn't as exciting as a plot point as the sharingan...

I think part of the reason why the Byakugan always feels a bit underdeveloped compared to the Sharingan is that we for the most part only ever see it used with the gentle fist, and that really limits it. I'm not arguing that the gentle fist doesnt make sense, or that it doesnt work well with the Byakugan, because it does. The issue here is a lack of variety.
Imagine like a sniper type character using long range ninjutsu, while using the byakugan to see through walls and cover their blind spots while aiming. Or imagine someone using the 8 gates with the added vision of the Byakugan to guide them. Or using something like the lighting blade, with the byakugan functioning similar to the Sharingan to give more awarness of their surroundings.
There is so much amazing room for variety with a technique that adds near perfect spacial awareness, but we only really see it used with a single fighting style. I'd call that a waste.
Neji according to data books has 3 Chakra nature's. And a skill in ninjutsu that rivals sasukes till itachis death.
Both hiashi and hizashi have really good Nin skills(i.e curse mark caged bird is fuinn jutsu.)
Hinata has fire and lightning.
They have other skills. There lack of screen time and the plot kills there popularity

Loads of missed oppertunities with the Byakugan and the Hyuga's signature expert control of their Chakra points.
Think about this; chakra shape manipulation is a thing. It's the whole reason the rasengan works. So why haven't we seen an expert Hyuga just use shape manipulation to perform the palms rotation without having to actually twirl his body? Then they'd get a pseudo Shinra tensei without the 5 sec delay.
And imagine a 8 trigrams 64 Vaccum palm. Shit would be insane.
It's criminal that the true upper limits of power and applications for the Hyuga's powers was never explored.

9:57 wasnt boruto like 13 when he created vanishing rasengan, compressed rasengan and his own wind style rasengan? He also created his own combo attack with speed similar to a chidori (not fully mastered ofc. i dont think that it is the same speed as sasukes for example) before even becoming a genin.

Technically he didn't "create" a jutsu since its just a variation of the rasengan, but to revolutionize such an iconic jutsu at his age was just as impressive
I personaly think the vanishing rasengan counts as a new jutsu since works at a whole other way than a normal rasengan, like windstyle rasenshuriken for example. It is made with a rasengan but the difference from a normal rasengan is so big that it is like a new jutsu while still resembling the rasengan. The other ones are near being new justu. One thing is for sure, he is as much if a genius as minato or even more than him.

Byakugan seems very beneficial early on in Naruto but later on it seems kinda pointless to me. Sharingan seems useful early on and later on and it is just more powerful in general during the mid and end parts of the Naruto series. My opinion of the byakugan doesn’t include Otsutsuki users, which even their byakugans’ don’t seem that strong compared to Sharingan and Rinnegan. The only good part about the byakugan later on in the series is that it can make good long range observations and that it has the potential to be a tenseigan (I’m not sure if the Tenseigan is specifically for Toneri though so eh.) All in all the Byakugan gets beaten by a lot of abilities during the Middle and End of Shippuden like Sage Mode, Sharingan, Rinnegan, Byakugo Seal, and other kekkei genkais’
There's some of your opinions I agree with you , I really love byakugan and it's kinda disappointed that their abilities didn't excel more like other dojutsu. Should be more powerful or at least their power excel more but byakugan surely powerful especially kaguya's byakugan who can see emotion and can see far more than any byakugan and momoshiki who can read someone future and the filler dude otsutsuki fisherman also hint that he can see future through byakugan.
So I think if kishimoto will focus this time on byakugan there's possibilities that byakugan also have a hidden abilities like baryon mode that just introduced in boruto.
Or at least their byakugan have also like susano but to their are lion since the only figure It shown that created through byakugan is Lion. That should at least that they can create a gigantic lion like a tailed beast like sharingan user who have susanoo but different style and color.
The real power of Byakugan users is chakra suppression and unrivalled taijutsu, (Kaguya shut down Susanoo and bijuu mode with ease using chakra fists) problem is Kishimoto shat on them like he did many other characters.
So I don’t think it’s canon but it was in the anime so I think it’s worth mentioning. I can’t remember if it was just a filler or part of the Tsukuyomi arc, but Hizashi Hyuga was reanimated, and he actually uses space time ninjutsu to kidnap and talk with Neji. Toneri, Momoshiki, and I think Urashiki as well, claim to have seen the future with their byakugan. And while I was rewatching the kaguya story arc, she does some type of jutsu that’s similar to almighty push that incapacitated her targets and sent them flying. Also don’t know if it was her byakugan or not but it also gave her the ability to mind control her son, Hamura.
Her push move is what the hyuga turned into air palm strikes...

You forgot to mention that theh Byakugan similar to the Rinnegan usually manifests as their permanent eyes meaning unlike the Sharingan you know the person has it even before they use them with I believe the only exception being Himawari who's act more like Sharingan in that they manifest from her regular eyes only when activated

To be fair, the byakugan shits all over the sharingan and and rinnegan. Neither can come close to giving xray vision in 360*, with one user able to see AT LEAST 10km. And they were not one of the most powerful of the clan.
Not to mention the more detailed Chakra view could probably allow you to copy justu as well, as that's how the sharingan copying works. Except the sharingan let's you do it easily, where you would have to train for that. After all if you can see their Chakra, and their seals, you could copy the Chakra movements, theoretically at least.
And with enough training, you could use the movement of others muscles to see where they are going. The sharingan may do this without training, but it's doable with the byakugan. There are many creative uses.
Finally someone else notices that byackugan can copy. I've been saying that for years. I've left several comments on hear about that.

Agreed. Don't forget that being able to see chakra would give them a better understanding on how chakra works, allowing for complex chakra control and the ability alter or create ninjutsu. Plus senjutsu would be easier to learn.

Being honest as a Neji fan I know they could have executed his death much better. I know they used it as bridge too form the naruto hinata relationship. Based off the fact he knew 3 chakra natures, how much his byakugan had evolved, and his prowess as a prodigy, I think it would have been more meaningful if they let him fight wit gai and lee vs madara using that time frame for naruto somehow slipping in and he risk his live to save him in that situation after showing the extent of his skills as a jonin, with his reasoning for saving naruto being he knows hinata loves him, and he could have said something to this affect still encouraging that future relationship. if they were gonna kill him, still think boruto being trained by neji would''ve been amazing, and as much as i like konohomaru neji as the squad leader would have felt more suitable for team 7 of the next gen. Plus unlike when shikamary became junin we didn't get to see neji really lead a team
Going to be honest didnt read all of the text but in my head canon, the Hyuga are forbidden from using any techniques other than byakugan based ones, granted that is just head canon but it is why i think Neji never used his chakra natures
@@psio123 That could make sense, but hinata made the water needles so I think they could he could have made some techniques based off it. Like one of his chakra natures for example i believe was earth so he could have maybe used it in combination with the trigrams palms a technique where when they step in range it activates a justsu that would trap their feet so they can't avoid the attack. The other nature was fire so he could have made fire needles or maybe he could have combined that with the gale palm adding the fire to make it add to the damage and create a cover for the intial purpose of the gale palm making it look like a basic fire justu. Another concept is maybe he condense chakra of fire nature to a very small point at the finger and with a direct hit it pours the chakra into the body spreading it thru the points finally flames bursting out thru each charka point of the body. I feel they really could have had him expand on the justu of the hyuga clan as well as them making one of his purposes to show the clan that they should be united instead of a higher lower branch system, or maybe instead gains permission to create and find new methods to enhance the justus of the hyuga. of course this all just what i wish could've happened but your likely correct with your assumption as to why he didnt use those chakra natures.

It's just a shame to have a character that had so much potential and who they low key hyped up just for him to die to a branch. I know having him interact wit boruto alone would have been interesting nonetheless seeing how his personality may differ in comparison to his norm kinda like borutos and himawaris grandpa. Definitely a missed opportunity, plus i rocked wit the hyuga clan so wished they flushed it out more.

Momoshiki demonstrated the ability to see others fates with his. I think it is the most slept on eye ability that frankly is the best eye ability. Born with it. You don’t sprout special chakra that has the possibility of insanity with it. Yes sharingan can predict movement and all but byakugan can see fate and thoughts and memories it’s got to be just as effective at prediction. The only thing it truely lacks is the copy ability and a freaking avatar like tailed beast mode or susanoo. That can be overcame with summons and other things though. Then the tensigan. I would have loved for boruto instead to have a byakugan that he ended up having to develop into that. But it would have been way to over powered I think. It would make a cool video though.

Honestly Byakugan was always my favorite of the three Gojutsu, I don't even know why i can fully admit the sharingan looks a bit cooler (Rinnegan is kinda eh 50/50 on it).
I always felt kinda cheated the fact Sharingans keep getting more and more abilities but Byakugans where practically forgotten about. Hell most of it's "abilieis" are really just abilities that where created to work with it.
Personally i feel it could have been Waaay stronger and had many more interesting abilities. However baring that! The abilities it does have are not explored enough or used well in further arcs.
(Also fun aside i made YEARS! ago like before the time-skip an OC character that was a Hyuuga that used bokutō to extend the range of his strikes, and was trying to develop a new form of "gentle fist". Because i wanted to explore more options of what the Byakugan and related fighting style could do).
An interesting "manga only" ability of the byakugan used by Kaguya, was extending the range of genjutsu. The anime had her open a portal to a moon, because earth moon wasn't made yet (kaguya is earths moon, or at the center of it) to cast infinite tsukuyomi. In the manga, anyone caught within the range of her byakugan, which is watch over entire nations, which she cast the genjutsu fell under it. The byakugan could easily be advantageous to any jutsu type be it taijutsu, ninjutsu, or genjutsu

Sharingan can distinguish what color chakra you have which means they can tell what element jutsu you use on top of predicting hand signs.

I argued with a friend about the discrepancy with the piercing eye and how byackugan by the logic presented should have copying capabilities.
All the info is there I think many people simple don't like it cuase it lowers sharingans uniqueness.
And frankly I don't know if the author realizes what he wrote
But if the byackugan is that strong.
It would make a whole lot of sense to not show it in shippuden.
Also if u notice after all the konoha 12 intros. And orochimaru and hokage etc.
They suddenly show itachi.
