Thanks for the vid doc. What an absolute legend of a man. Thanks for going through all of the box empty and also with your tools in it’s really helped me out when looking at this box as I’ve been on the fence of whether to buy one or not but I think I will buy one this weekend. Enjoy your day !!
Damn I took mine back yesterday before seeing this video. My shut lines were the same but I never thought to try and push the lid across to line it up. They are providing me with a new one anyway so I collect Friday. Also bought the bottom (used but as new) and a middle box and now wondering if it’s going to be too many drawers!
Was quite disappointed with mine, nowhere near what they used to be with the lift to open drawers. Those soft close drawers have to be closed into just the right position to make the lock work, mine is very temperamental. The locks themselves are poor as well, supposed to be high security unique keys, but both of my sets open both my top and bottom units and I’m pretty sure any other key would too. One of my top drawers has half the advanced 200 piece set in it, nowhere near the drawer capacity, and it sags enough to scrape the drawer below. Minor niggle is that the lid needs a handle because there’s no way of opening it, but I’ve stuck my magnetic parts tray on to it and that works for now!
Hi Doc ,can't beat the professional range in my opinion,if you can get a trade card (they gave me one as an electrician) you get a great discount on tools among other things and the discount is still applied to sale prices ,I got my son a £200 socket set for £120 last year with sale price and discount, just a thought, regards Dave (no I don't work for them )but I'm still using some Halfords tools that I have had over 30 years.
Thanks for the info Dave. I'm a joiner buy trade so I'll try to see if I can get a trade card. I agree I have used halfords tools for years with never a problem. I even exchanged a socket last yr with no receipt.
Trust me i have this aswell as the middle and the bottom. I have replaced the top one twice so i am on my 3rd top stack just over 1 year and all the soft closes bits do is break aswell as my bottom draw what keeps opening when i lock it so they are shit
@@docsworld9707 tbh if your bix is for home use it should be fine but because i use mine at work opening and closing the box every few mins does not help
@@jordanwilcox4723 Did you just take the top box to get it replaced or do they want original packaging as iv gotten rid of the box it came in. Also are they fussy about any marks or dents if and when it needs replacing?
@@saulgoodman7495 just take the box back as it is now and show them the problem. No they are not fussed with marks or anything as i drilled and riveted stuff in my box so holes everywhere
@@jordanwilcox4723 I definitely have the same issue with the soft closing not working properly and drawers popping out when locking so now i just manually push them all in all the way and then lock it. Do they give you a replacement there and then or does it have to be sent away for inspection first?
