Christy, congrats on publishing the Selkie story!!! And thank you for posting this Wednesday. Watching your new video is something I always look forward to on Wednesdays and Sundays. Lots of love :) xx
Yay! I am happy to hear the name of my hometown. Honestly, as an Istanbul-born, I didn't know much about Byzantium and Kostantinopolis too. Ghost Empire is a very detailed and well-narrated book. When I travelled to Rome and walked on the streets, I perceived very familiar emotions as I did in Istanbul. These two cities are like brother and sister. Do you like to watch K-dramas? I suggest "It is ok not to be ok". I'm impressed by the illustrations, animation and narration of fairy tales through all the episodes.
An average book consist of 300 pages. If you read 10 pages per day, It will take 1 month to finish a single book. I don't just read a book, just by reading, I visualize those lines...it takes a lot of concentration, Sometimes I can't concentrate more than 2.5 min... Although I read book after my dinner, in the process sometimes I can't even read 5 pages per night. Currently I'm reading 12 Rules for life, by Jordan B Peterson. This book is very tough to read & grasp but surely one of the best & everyone should read it. So my suggestion is don't just buy book or go crazy like a shopping, buy any book, and finish it....If you closely look at my book and just keep it on the table, you'll notice the little gaps in between pages which evident that those pages were open for quite sometimes. Read book, don't just collect it & keep it as it is.... finish every Pages. I suggest to read non fiction books & classic books.
This is the second time I watched this 💖💖💖 I already know all of the recommendations but I just want to listen your soothing voice again when I do my chores 💜💜💜 sending a LOT of love to you from a small TH-camr 🌱🌱🌱
we have such similar taste! currently reading why we sleep, then planning to get a hardcopy of room of one’s own. I love books with beautiful proses/immersive reads. What do you think of John Steinbeck?
I loved Why We Sleep! True, he makes a lot of claims without citations but it isn't an academic text so that's kinda expected. I've read books from the great scientist/ authors of sleep: Dement, Kryger, and also lesser knowns: Wallace Mendelson, Pat McNamara, Stephen LaBerge, and their books are the same, except for the academic publications. I liked that book enough to buy 3 copies and give them away. It's a great bridge into an important subject that anyone can understand and absolutely applies to everyone. A hard recommend from me.
Just subscribed to your channel 👍🏻😊 I hope this doesnt sound strange but when i saw ur picture in the thumbnail I just KNEW you had an accent lol I love hearing u talk
Just published a book recently after a diagnosis of ADHD and Autism it felt like all of the windows opened in my head and fresh air and sunshine finally entered. It's called AuDHD and Me: Growing up Distracted. Part Memoir, part up to date research and some stories of other individuals going through their journey with a diagnosis.
I still have to finish why we sleep, should really useduse my old kindle more. Wish It had light so I could read at night though. What lipstick do you wear? I adore that colour
Awesome list! Added a lot to my wish list for my birthday 🥰 Just FYI, “Sapiens” isn’t well received in the archeologist world cause it’s not very accurate. That’s according to my archeologist cousin, who’s been specializing in early human history (I forgot the technical term) for 10 years. I wanted to read it & I asked her about it, and she basically said, “don’t even look at that book, I’ll give you some other recommendations.”
Your voice is what I want to hear during these times. You're like a friend I've been missing so much and finally saw each other again and ended up telling me about her favorite books! Love love love your channel to bits!!! Makes the rainy days much much better, just in bed and watching your videos and reading your recommendations 😍 Much love from the Philippines 🥰🥰🥰
Well i never liked Murakami, so i clicked despite the thumbnail... But i liked the video & have read most... But the problem ( w/ hard NF) is I always cogitate about better language that certain NF authors like Pink n all could write in....
My 4 year old joined me in watching this video and she decided that you are Wonder Woman 😂

Fifth time watching 💖💖💖 yesterday I bought the Murakami book about running & why we sleep. When I finish reading this I will buy Sapiens.

I looove Educated. I read it so quickly, but it was so intense. Unfollow is also a really interesting book with similar themes.
I still have to finish why we sleep, should really useduse my old kindle more. Wish It had light so I could read at night though.
