    Gracias por compartir vuestra experiencia. Me encanta porque hasta ahora es el primer canal en España que encuentro que practica este tipo de agricultura regenerativa. Nosotros también vivimos en el campo, en un olivar y la falta de agua siempre es un problema. Saludos desde Almería

    Well, for someone who doesn't know what they are doing, you are both have the right instincts. Marvelous bit of Wall building. The house looks like a real homestead. Love your swales. Can't wait to see if your neighborhood will catch on to what you are doing. I thought looking at the cows in the previous video that there must have been Charolais in the Herd. Wow, your place is grandiose.

    • @ProjectGranjaCaimito
      @ProjectGranjaCaimito  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. It's a "work in progress"...
      The cows are a mix of different breeds which is common here. Charolais is part of the mix.

    Oh, wow, absolutely amazing, I do love merino (- sheep) 🤩, the wool is just wonderful, you're living a dream of mine. Could you please tell us a bit about the costs and how you financed it all? Will you be able to make a living of the farm?

    • @ProjectGranjaCaimito
      @ProjectGranjaCaimito  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome! First, we need to restore the soil so that it can sustain anything. This is a long-term investment and eventually I'm pretty sure we can make a living of the farm. For the time being it is a money sink.

    La verdad que es difícil leer y ver el vídeo a la vez, hay que ir parando las imágenes, pero está bien esté proyecto, lleváis poco con el canal, espero que os valla bien.
    ¿habéis barajado las ventajas e inconvenientes de construir una casa de madera en estas latitudes? En verano, mucha calor y enjuto, en invierno, mucho frío y humedad.
    Buen, espero el proyecto valla dando sus frutos...

    • @ProjectGranjaCaimito
      @ProjectGranjaCaimito  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Si. Subtitulos a veces no son facil. Lo siento. Tantas idiomas que hay aqui en Europa :-)
      Con la madera no hay problema. La estructura es de madera pero en las paredes hay 15 cm de lana de roca y en el techo 25 cm. Casa de madera no significa que no tiene aislante sino lo contrario. Madera es el material preferido en muchas partes humedas del mundo.

    • @josebullero
      @josebullero 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ProjectGranjaCaimito ya entiendo por el idioma, menos mal que esta subtitulado👍...
      Lo de la madera, no es el problema la humedad, es el contraste de tanda húmeda y frío en invierno y tan seco y tanta calor en verano...
      Pero si te va bien es está latitud la casa de madera, me alegro...

    • @ProjectGranjaCaimito
      @ProjectGranjaCaimito  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      La madera (pino) de la estructura no esta expuesta al sol ni a la lluvia. Las paredes consisten de varias capas de diferente materiales. Hay una capa de algo que parece papel pero es una membrana que protege de viento y de humedad. Afuera hay contrachapado y adentro tenemos placas de yeso.
      De adorno tenemos tablones de pino expuesto al sol. Estan cogiendo patina pero no se pudren porque se adaptan. Tampoco se han rajado y estan en el sur de la casita.

    What an adventure and what an experience. The Building Regulations allowed you to build without approval?????.

    • @ProjectGranjaCaimito
      @ProjectGranjaCaimito  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In general you are always allowed to build things related to the agricultural activity. Would be silly to make people drive 100km for a screwdriver or a shovel ;-)
      Or think about caring for animals. Can't do that by visiting once a week either.

      @@ProjectGranjaCaimito I'll be doing something similar (on a smaller scale maybe) in a few years from now. I'm finishing up a bus conversion which will be my home for the next few years. The plan is to travel to Spain and Portugal with the bus to see where i like to buy property. As of now i'm thinking near El Chorro near Mallorca because i love rock climbing too.

    • @ProjectGranjaCaimito
      @ProjectGranjaCaimito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @ProjectGranjaCaimito
      @ProjectGranjaCaimito  ปีที่แล้ว

      Spain is very diverse. While in the North it rains a lot more the South is pretty dry and under threat of desertification. Then the mountains - there are many - are again totally different.
      And: there is the "empty Spain" in the center where hardly anyone lives. Read about that part. Most of Spain lives either in the center (Madrid) or along the coasts.

    How much did the wooden house and yurt cost?

    • @ProjectGranjaCaimito
      @ProjectGranjaCaimito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The yurt is from www.tipis.es and was something around 4000 EUR. It's an import from Mongolia. For the house we bought material step by step and never bothered to sum it up. But it's not expensive. Keep in mind that's still a "work in progress" as it's kind of a testing place as well. Once you are homesteading you have to learn about all kinds of things that "city folks" take for granted :-)

    How old are those rock walls is all I'm asking

    • @ProjectGranjaCaimito
      @ProjectGranjaCaimito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have no idea :-) It's a tradition here in this region. People have collected all the stones from between the trees and instead of building fences they put up these stone walls. I would think mostly to keep pigs inside an area. But many are now damaged. They were built without mortar and today nobody wants to do that type of labor I guess. We don't have a lot of them here but instead build a lot of new electrified fences.
