So inspiring … thank you so much to those young farmers to have the strength to do that 🙏

Patagonia, single handedly leading the way with these remarkable miniature documentaries 👏

Not single handedly. That's impossible. And the power of regenag is precisely in working integrally, with many different parties.

Civic Eats is starting to do some good ones too: civileats.com/category/civil-eats-tv/. A little different to the Patagonia production style though!

Hola I have a smallholding, 1.5 acres in La Alpujarra, 1000m alt. I've been here for 20 years. When I bought the place it had been treated with herbicide, pesticide and inorganic fertiliser for more than 20 years. I have old olive, almond and walnut, 180 trees! The trees were healthy but the soil was sterile. It took me 11 years to get the soil really alive again. I use horse manure and compost. But with the drought I'm finding it hard to keep the land and old trees healthy. I irrigate in the winter now, up until 10 years ago we had good rain and much snow on the mountains. Now our acequia is dry from early July until the rain comes in maybe late Oct or Nov. Ancient olive trees are dying back on abandoned fincas close to my place. Before the drought these olive trees were fine, just from the rain. I'm very concerned about the drought, we can improve our soil, but sin lluvia, que podemos hacer?

That's what regenerative agriculture does: to bring not only the soil microbiome, but the water back (into the aquifer).
I'm not the person who can help you, as I'm learning the basics myself, but you should be able to get answers here, and also by looking at other regenerative agriculture channels.
      Good luck!

I'm a total newb at this, but trenches and ponds to collect rain water when it rains is the way to go, Panni foundation in india is doing a great job in helping water retention in Maharashtra, you could check them out to gather more info.

@@arunjoy7036 my finca is terraced, high in La Alpujarra, the real problem we face is drought. We have water storage tanks, however, whatever your system of irrigation, if the land around is not naturally irrigated, as in rain, then the local nature will not thrive. Snow fall here in la Sierra Nevada has been decreasing for many years. Rainfall lower down the mountain has been minimal, 40cm or so each year. The general environment is in decline. We can have our oases for as long as there is water in the acequia, but the wild trees are dying. I'm not a beginner, I've been in the region for 25 years and have had my finca for 21 years.

Inspired me to get back into environmental policy, and more importantly working with the land. I believe many millenials, especially because of the pandemic, will look towards nature in a different healing way and try to improve the world we have.

    • @ErikDouds

Also, it is kind of sad to see Patagonia not include an ending screen. That could really help guide people towards their environmental work instead of being suggested something completely different after watching this first film (note to whoever is running the channel).

Our nation is waking up, seeing the gaping cracks in its factory farm system. Now, people are turning to regenerative farms as ethical food source. Your video is much needed in this area: THE MORE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS, THE BETTER. If y'all want to learn more, we have a video: A PASSION FOR POULTRY | A REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE STORY . If you're interested in learning more, click on the channel icon to learn about the ethics of this new farming and our odd methods (yes, we fast our birds!) Again, a wonderful video! Cheers!

Put line of trees on the boarders it will slow down the wind and erosion.
If locals say it doesnt work it means they never wanted to try.
