Or if he only saw you at a certain level, then you would never ascend past that level. Take Punk. He had excelled past all expectations, but when it came time to give Punk the main event of Wrestlemania or put Punk on the same level as Vince’s favorites, the old man refused to do it because he didn’t want to see Punk on that same level of stardom even though he clearly was, and would you look at that? Vince was wrong. Punk has continued to grow until he’s reached megastar status. Not gonna lie, when the shield was first on the main roster, I did think Ambrose was the leader of the group and was gonna be a big star when he eventually left the shield. He was the one in the middle cutting promos a lot. He did have some success at first eventually winning the WWE championship, but that seems like it was his peak. Then later he got injured, came back then left the company. I also thought Seth was gonna get lost in the shuffle on the roster after the Shield, but he did good for himself. Fast forward to 1971 and negotiations were actually far enough along to announce an October 4th boxing exhibition at the Houston Astrodome: "The Greatest vs The Biggest". Depending on who told the rest of the story - the match fell apart because the Los Angeles Lakers intervened or Wilt wanted a larger share of the purse or Wilt wanted all taxes paid on his cut. I saw some people say Rollins "cooked", he was shit by comparison, Punk owned him
Facts
What did Punk say that "owned" Seth? Seth was tiers above lol.
@@aviwegexa9031 It's not what he said, it's how comes across. Seth acted like a pompous, petty, bitter, cheap dickhead. He was patently unlikable at every turn. if you thin THAT makes him look good, I seriously question the quality of your character.
I disagree Seth Rollins told Facts and the truth and Buried CM Punk on the Mic and CM Punk knows it deep down
@ReverseSkeleton Seth systematically brought up all of Punk's shortcomings and destroyed him using that. Literally everything Seth said was facts and can be proven. Punk was spouting nonsense. It doesn't matter how Punk was saying something, fact is he was lying. He can sound as convincing as he possibly can but he is still lying.
That was a good Rollins promo but Punk still cooked him. 1 guy is a real person talking & the other is a gimmick pandering.
Hopefully these two have a match on a PLE as well. Raw match should be a barn burner.
We've all been waiting to hear this!!
It's crazy the fact that AEW threw a bunch of matches on PPV and on Dynamite, but people are talking about two guys verbally destroying each other on the mic...
The diference of level is clear as day!
It would be great if yall could add your genuine reactions to these moments live… simply some audio or something I know those love reactions are gold
Nobody does an ad like Jim and Brian lmao
The way he deadpanned you know I’m a Covid survivor had me rolling omg
Jim veering off topic to trash the plumber will never not be funny. 😂
I love it that whenever Jim talks abut either rollins or Roman, Moxley gets roasted. 😂❤
I been anticipating Jim review to the promos of the year so far.
Technically it was 2024. Even with that, still promo of the year.
Always has to be that 1 guy
"WELL TECHNICALLY " SHUT UP !! We know what he's talking about
@jtp72 technically not everyone
@@jtp72 lol what? You can’t say the promo of 2025 so far is something that happened in 2024. That’s impossible.
@CulEdz another know it all !! WE GET WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ,, WE DONT NEED SOME
NITWIT IN THE COMMENTS CORRECTING EVERYONE ON SOMETHING OBVIOUS ( ACTUALLY ITS A NEW YEAR ) NO SHIT WE GET IT OK
Even though he got a pop from it....that Vince line from Punk was kind of fabricated because he also had a problem with Triple H
Triple H was also probably not making the final decisions cuz Vince was the last and final word??…Maybe that’s why Punk had an issue at the time
@@KPSavant even back then, he may not have liked Paul, but he still knew that all of the things Paul seconded were created by Vince. What was “happening” to the business was Vince’s fault, not Paul’s.
Wouldn’t be surprised if HHH was told at the time to go sell Punk on Vince’s ideas and couldn’t be like “I know this sucks but…”
But the main problem was Vince. The buck stopped with the old man. If he liked you, he pushed you to the moon. If he didn’t like you, you would be buried.
He was more open with pushing people when WCW kept him honest, but once WCW died, Vince let his ego run wild, to the detriment of the product. We are much better off without Vince McMahon.
@@Jeff_Pryce To be fair Vince had no choice but to push him but yeah he did push him as second top star to Cena and then third top star to Rock when he came back even though Punk was WWE champion
After the entire omnibus for commercials and I still can't get enough 😂😂
Does anyone even know what Jack Perry is doing right now?? Literally haven’t seen anything relatively newsworthy since he was lit on fire 😂what has he done?
I think he was in New Japan's New Year's Show.
Just lost a match to Yota Tsuji in the Tokyo dome yesterday.
He's losing in New Japan to a dead crowd, now that the DoucheBucks are holding his hand.
Well mone have 4 belts and the bucks are the new njpw tag champs 😂😂
@@phillymcgilly9816 I was sure his Mantaur gimmick would be his breakthrough into Mainstream.
Hell yes! I have been waiting to hear Jim's thoughts on this exchange.
I really liked how they didn't have a huge fist fight as the show went off. That gets used way to much nowadays and the face-off was way better because it added to the intensity. Serious Seth is awesome on the mic!
I love how you still put Seth "Franklin" Rollins in the title 😂
There was a pipeline from being drafted to Smackown without an ongoing feud to getting released because you were only used to do a job one every few weeks. Hopefully extending the show will fix that
Everyone said Punk destroyed Seth but Seth gave Punk some good jabs on the mic
It’s easy to insult someone punk said truth what Seth said was nothing but feelings none of what he said was true except for him not having kids that was it
@@ericship8383 what about him joining the competition and leaving WWE?? All of those are true 🤷🏾♂️ Seth did really well, you’re literally ignoring his whole promo
@@captaincozy4523Cornette fans just parrot their Punk takes and ignore anything the person next to Punk does. It’s really weird. Rollins did a good job.
“He did a good job with a couple of jabs, if you ignore the haymaker, the baseball bat, the chair, the knuckledusters and bottles thrown in his face”
I had to watch this segment too, Jim! CM Punk! CM Punk! CM Punk!
I can guarantee Dave Meltzer will rate this match ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
“3 ¾ stars not enough flips, not enough Canadian destroyers.”
@@UncomfortableShoesNot enough piledrivers, headbutts, chop fest😂
🤣
@ 😂 “neither guy is Japanese. Pathetic.”
@@AXWforever Wrestlers stumbling around like drunken idiots while giving each others headbutts is one of the most stupid pictures this business has ever produced.
No he won’t as it’s got Punk in it, and not Osprey or Omega in the Tokyo Dome
This is like two of my favorite guys going at it and I love it
One of the absolute BEST PROMOS in modern day wrestling....man always that Punk is involve is always like that, the man knows how to make thing believable, and every time Seth is with Punk is always he gave his best....I'm absolutely hype for tonight Raw.
Thank you Adam Page, Young Bucks and Jack Perry for making this possible.
Jim and Brian won’t review Raw but these two clowns will gladly review clown show AEW events in their entirety 😂
I was just thinking this..They shit on AEW for view’s and attendance and lack of story and misuse of there talent etc and compare how WWE is better and the area’s that WWE does better in but won’t review WWE? There not much for them to shit on so it’s not as much fun for them? There’s time’s I like to hear Jim’s thought’s and opinion’s as I do with other veteran’s in the wrestling industry but other time’s I feel they both are stuck on the old time’s of wrestling and don’t get the concept of time’s change and whether thing’s are the way they were before or not there still doing something right at-least WWE anyway’s..being wrestling is hotter then what it’s been in year’s
I hope it's intentional, because Seth came out of this as even more of Punk's little brother that was so sad and angry that he left for a decade but deep inside misses him so much lmao
My favorite version of Seth outside the Shield was the Authority version of Seth (2014-2015)
Can’t wait for this match. Both guys did well
I feel like the conflict they went for in this promo was the company guy almost representing that past era in Seth against the that sucked we’re done with it from now on era in Punk.
Finally!!
Now I am just waiting for Punk and Reigns showdown next..pure gold
Im just waiting for the video touching on Edge calling himself COPE.
Rollins was sent to Plumber status by Punk. I see both The Man and her Visionary going to All Empty Wrestling this year.
PUNK WINS! PUNK WINS!
Moxley's new nickname is dick the boozer, pumber's been retired. 😂
The hype for Raws debute on Nwtflix is just now kicking in for me how great its gonna be and im curious how the presentation is gonna look. I hope the promos dont have a Netflix sitcommy filter or feel to them, thatd make it feel weird (sorta like how Santos Escobars backstage promps feel like a spanish soap opera). Cant wait.
This was the best promo since the pipebomb
Who had 14 hair transplants ?😂
This is the best Rollins has been on the mic in years. It’s just a shame he still came out dressed like a total goof
I liked his look when he was the Monday Night Messiah and work all black.
At least Seth freaking Rollins doesn't wear pearls.
I liked the outfit
Crazy how Seth gets hate for overdressing yet your legends back in the day would do the same thing and it gets called legendary 🤣🤣😭 hypocrisy at it’s finest 🤷🏾♂️
He was literally in a tailored suit. What was goofy about it. you sound dumb
As much as people may hate Rollins' character, I love the fact that they are consistent with him. He is the "sell out" that joined the authority.
Honestly some of the stuff Punk says isn't a damning as people make it out to be. The Vince loving Seth line didn't make sense because you could apply that to Stone Cold, Taker, Rock, Roman, Charlotte etc like who cares. I thought Seth got the best line in when he bought up Punk's firing from AEW, and that's because it's way more embarrassing.
It’s actually not because Punk came back to WWE and immediately became a top guy again. Meanwhile AEW is hot garbage.
What's embarrassing about being fired from AEW given we know just what he got fired for lol
Poor Colby Liberace.
Seth was really good
Brian said that is not the service😂😂😂😂😂😂.
3:05 Dave wasn't completely wrong. DEAN AMBROSE was a star and would've continued to be one. JON MOXLEY, on the other hand...
TRAVIS IS KILLING ME 😂❤😂
I listen to this and Dutch mantell and both framed it as Punk won this even though not go through entire segment
When Brian last point out Steve Austin line. i thought he say what Seth said that Steve Austin himself said that it was worst mistake of his life. Last said nothing.
Even when Seth said Becky at home raising a kid was ignored on podcasts even though got a reaction from the fans.
No mention of the line here about when Seth said Punk join AEW how that work out big reaction by the crowd.
Punk said he not like Vince yes in the end got fired on wedding day. However he was world champion for a full calendar year. that never happens if he hated Vince. and they could not co exist. Vince would of took title off him 2 or 3 months in
3 hours of either show is too much.
The Fast Forward Hour isn't a bad idea. I think even with a star in each hour people will still be able to tell you which part was rough.
I've been waiting for this one 😂
Firing bs punk during WWE Netflix debut would make it awesome
Best in world at being a bit!@
F the AEW haters
Seth just doesn't impress me in guess its the goofy clothes and the over the topness
I’m sure since he has no idea who you are, it makes no difference
@oddishhonor I'm thinking that same thing about you
@@KeithAdams-o3b oh no, how ever will I survive !?!? The biggest issue here is you thinking you have any importance on me or the guy you just said “doesn’t impress you”
As if you’re someone of stature whose validation should be looked for? Please.
@oddishhonor of course it has importance to you because you addressed it genius, don't get mad because you mark out for him, you obviously can read so you can tell by the language it wasn't a personal letter to seth, and seeing as this is open for comment I exercise my rights, your out of your depth here because the more you comment the more it proves its importance to YOU
@@KeithAdams-o3b LOL YOU DO THINK YOU MATTER. How cute, bless your little heart.
When I saw this promo I swear to God CM punk buried Seth Rollins. The final knockout blow was when CM punk told. Seth that for 10 years they were chanting. His name in the company including his matches I was like oh my God! He destroyed him and I can't get behind Seth Rollins because he kept pandering to the fans saying that he's going to fight for everyone and show up every week like nobody cares about that. So I can't see Seth continuing being a Babyface like he's definitely got to go heel at this point.
"mostly during your TV time" what a blow.
always brilliant stuff between these two
you can't tell me their isn't some sort of truth in what both guys are saying
i think the youtube interview with rollins was even better than their raw segment. shouldve been on raw
The segment was great🔥🔥🔥🔥Punk cooked👨🍳👌
AEW has punk and way more, real heat with people there and never made any angles out of it. Wow. Talk about Butterfingers.
Say what you want about the guy, but Punk on the mic is in the GOAT conversation.
People saying "they really don't like eachother, you can tell by that promo" 🤣 LMAO that was SO obviously a work, especially the part about Punk's family. It wasn't a bad exchange, it was just totally average. Is this our new standard for heat?😂 Wow.... I'm shocked Jim's socks were knocked off by this.
Brian Last live-tweets about Dynamite every week and watches every minute of it. He even forces Jim to watch it, but he always has issues with WWE shows. The dude seems like a secret admirer of Tony Khan. 😂😂
Just because you criticise one company doesn’t mean you’re a fan of another. Come on you’re better than this.
AEW is more interesting because it's a trainwreck, WWE is mostly boring besides the stuff with the top guys
@mrsl262 what is boring there?
He hates WWE because he's a NY area fan who always wanted to be in the business but they would never give him the time of day.
@@mrsl262 WWE is as hot as they've been in decades while AEW is the same crap over and over.
Mox catching strays 😂
Punk could bring up that photo leak of Seth from years ago. Lol
True but all Seth can say back simply is that he actually got to reach an egg.
That would be AEW booking
ABC Sports.....Howard Cosell was the host of a Muhammad Ali-Wilt Chamberlain segment in March 1967 w/ special guests Angelo Dundee and Drew Bundini Brown - when it was being hinted that they would have a boxing match. Ali said Bill Russell was going to be a sparring partner and told Wilt to ".....cut off that beard, because I'm not fighting Billy Goats." Fast forward to 1971 and negotiations were actually far enough along to announce an October 4th boxing exhibition at the Houston Astrodome: "The Greatest vs The Biggest".
Depending on who told the rest of the story - the match fell apart because the Los Angeles Lakers intervened or Wilt wanted a larger share of the purse or Wilt wanted all taxes paid on his cut. According to Bob Arum, Chamberlain finally realized it wasn't some funny game when the contract was being finalized and he arrived late for the meeting; a serious Ali greeted him with an ominous “Timberrrrrrr!”.
Maybe it’s just me but I disagree with Jim about they need someone to moderate these things.
I'll say it... TK Feared for is life 😂
I just hope Jim figured out how to get his Netflix going because summertime when they were talking about the Netflix I was dying😂
I think Stacy will have it ready for him 😂😂
I'm mainly getting Netflix for this, so it better be worth bc it's my least favorite streaming service
You know AEW is going to eventually make Dynamite a 3 hour show.
Buddy got Rollins looking like mustafa Ali
