This car puts a smile on my face just thinking about driving it ❤️. I’m very lucky living in Australia where I don’t have to worry about salted roads and rust.
Just started on my 2017 RF ,no lift but maybe 10 hours into it now, hard on my back but still very rewarding seeing results,we both extending the life of the car
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm in 2 minds using P&P. Heard good and bad stories. When I research they have a monopoly on the market - not much competition to choose from.
CVR in East Kilbride seems to be another option but didn’t here back from my enquiry so went with P & P. Seems ok so far, the 12 month checkup will be the real test I guess.
I had a test drive in NC 2.0 i sport tech and already fall in love. I want to buy one of them next year. I hope so I will be able to find a car from person like you tbh 😆
Man I hate how certain model MX-5's get that HUGE electronics box behind the rear view mirror. It's so unnecessary and blocks an already small windscreen. Is there a way to remove those things?
You did that 7 years after the car purchase. If this was done recently. How much of rust had already been built up? and is it okay to even consider this for car of this age?
I checked the underside of my car a few weeks ago and it was in excellent condition, mostly because it has never seen rain, (as far as i know). It is 3 years old TODAY 9th April and i had it booked in at Mazda for the 3 year service and MOT and guess what?.......it's pi**ing down with rain. It is what it is unfortunately and time will tell if i have a three year head start over a daily use car.
Ours started to deteriorate at 5 years old. 7 now and this year it was time to do something. Car has done 10k, mainly dry, miles only. You’re doing the right thing keeping an eye on it though 👍
Strange though I was servicing my Toyota the other day, similar age, many more miles, zero rust underneath. Mazda do need to up their game in this day and age. Great the cars are lightweight but is it actually because they skimp on things rather than great engineering??
Anybody thinking of doing this; don't. I am currently taking P&P to court for the absolutely awful treatment. They do just enough to get some pictures and then cover up the rust. Have since found multiple others with even worse experiences than me. Please do not bring your car here if you care for it at all.
Waste of time! It's all under the underseal.git to remove the old stuff before anything. Metal needs protection, not the old underseal.good products, not the best application
Happier now the car has some decent protection. Anyone else planning the same?

We do envy your weather, particularly right now, but not the spiders, you can keep them 😉
That looks like a really good job.
Took a while and cost a bit but hopefully that’s taken care of things now 🤞
Thanks for the video! Just got my new MX5 sprayed for the winter to protect against rust and salt. Never thought of this until watched your video
Wise decision. Means you can just use and enjoy your new car without worrying, ideal👍 You’ll love it 👌 Happy motoring

Fair play doing it yourself 👏 They definitely need it. Good job to get done and dusted 👍
@@midlifemotors5050 still i think the price you paid is great value 👌

We had an NC 2.0 SportTech before this one. Great car, better steering feel than the nd imo. Just check for rust and you can’t go wrong 👍

Looks much better
Agreed. Fingers crossed it lasts 🤞

Decent
Seems ok 🤞

Great stuff. Straight pipe next?
Correct, exhaust next 😀
Just goes to show doesn’t it can’t even trust new cars! But good to see the cars unfortunate rusty dna still lives on 😢

It’s really bad that Mazda doesn’t take rust protection seriously. I’m put off from buying one.
It’s not good, you’re right. Protect early and you’ll be fine but it is a cost you do need to budget for.

Time will tell
This rust protection is a waste, it needs a garage and wash your car regularly thats all
