    Noisey Films is proud to present 'Start Anew? : On The Campaign Trail With Beady Eye.'
    Over the past couple of months, Noisey has had exclusive access to one of the most iconic figures in British music as he tries to step out of the shadows of Oasis with the release of Beady Eye's second album 'Be.' Will the discerning choices of Dave Sitek on production and Trevor Jackson on design allow them to become an artistic endeavor in their own right?
    From rehearsals and interviews to instores and playbacks, Noisey documents the story of our kid as he and his band attempt to prove that they are more than the sum of their parts and that this record will take them in a new direction. In Liam's own words "I wouldn't put it out if I was nervous. I hope people like it. If they don't they can go fuck themselves."

    Liam Gallagher is such a genuine human being. He cares so much about his fans, letting them hug him and kiss him, and take pictures and shit. What a guy, and their new record is fucking quality.

      Be honest, the record wasn’t so good lol Some nice moments on there though. Liam’s voice was never the same after the first BE album, he went extra nasal and has never returned to his old singing technique

    That guy from back in day Manchester when he told that story man it broke my heart seriously. Most people would not even talk to people they used to fuck around with and get high with before they get signed or whatever,but Liam actually signed the picture for him so he could earn extra for the fucking paintings. That fucking touched my heart and made me cry. Liam has always been true to himself and if you really look he is a really kind soul deep down.

    Its a shame they broke up. Liam Gallagher, the greatest front man in the past 25 years, Gem Archer and Jay Mehler both proven themselves as great guitarists same with Andy Bell on the bass. Fair enough their song writing ability isn't amazing, yet on the BE album there wasn't a song that suggested they was bad at writing. I think the market for rock music like this that takes strong inspiration from previous rock music throughout the decades is always going to struggle in today's music industry. Maybe 10 or 20 years ago Beady Eye would of been one of the biggest bands in Britain. It also doesn't help that everybody is a oasis fan, meaning that the oasis fans who's first choice of music isn't rock (Maybe techno, rap, pop etc) will see Beady Eye just to see Liam Gallagher to hope he plays a oasis song or two and not let Beady Eye be Beady Eye

  • @Allenda100
    @Allenda100 11 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    I just love that whether Oasis, Beady Eye or High Flying Birds, they keep at it. Liam is humble enough to say he has to learn how to write songs in many of his interviews. Noel may not say much, but his videos show he is not the front man "rock star" that Liam is, and Noel states he was happy being the guy on the side playng guitar. So being apart is teaching both that neither had easy shoes to fill in Oasis. Perhaps after learning that they need each other, they can mend the riff and get back together. And if not, may both find their own way to be successful at doing what they love without the other. :)

      If it wasn't Liam's project and a new young band released these songs on bandcamp you and your eyebrows would have no interest. The music alone would not elevate these tunes to a wider audience. If anything, Beady Eye are hugely overrated due to chaps like yourself who buy their elan in the High Street/Mall. It's why youth culture has stagnated for the past 20 years. Nothing is grass roots, DIY, fuck the man attitude, anymore. Millennials need their hands held and walked to the spot marked 'this is cooool!' where they are spoon fed tepid diarrhea from the arse of hasbeens.

    Is it only me who preferred Beady Eye to HFB? It's actually Noel who has stuck to the same old tired formula and his voice on record is not as strong as Liam. BE is a little masterpiece which surprises. It's the biggest boldest jump either of them have taken away from the Oasis sound. Liam's songs on the last Oasis album were also stronger yet people worship Noel more because he wrote some decent songs 20 years ago (admittedly they are classics) but it's 20 years ago. Move on. Beady Eye shouldn't have stopped.

    How Liam got pissed because Noel wouldn't go along with the pretty green thing, and started throwing shit and swinging guitars.
    The guy is volatile. He threatened to stab sacha baron cohen in the eye, when he was drunk.
    He looked like he was getting pissed when the other guys in the band were talking during an interview.

I'm glad Liam got some good song writers to back him up. It's funny too to see these hardcore fans, god love em.

    Honestly, I heard "Flick of the Finger" and immediately was brought back to Elliott Smith's "Figure 8" album... which presented to me an album/song that was not based on ROCK guitar and all those horrible 90's solo's (which had their place, respectively) but rather an album that was based on Soul, feeling, and a little bit of elbow grease.... I understand that Noel fans bitch about Liam, but Liam was a very important aspect of Oasis, and I feel that this new direction is something that could be much bigger than expected. Good Luck, guys.

    Beady Eye released an excellent new album (BE) and that film is a good guide for the album and the world of Beady Eye.

    I think the idea of the rock star is at this time more important than ever.People need a idea that they can almost,in a way live vicariously through.Liam Gallagher seems like the last ray of hope in those regards.Beady eye has put together a amazing album, a album that I think in years to come has the possibility of being a classic,In the eyes of some at least.Let's hope that that happens.

    The issue with Beady Eye was that they were always going to compared to Oasis, Oasis were a group that saturated the British media so much that anything that followed was never going to reach the same heights cause no matter how good the tunes were, everyone is always subconsciously thinking "It's cool but it's not Oasis".

    Happy b' day Liam!!!
    William John Paul "Liam" Gallagher (nacido el 21 de septiembre de 1972), Es un cantante y compositor inglès, conocido por haber sido vocalista de Oasis y vocalista de su actual banda Beady Eye. Es famoso por su actitud. A pesar de las diferentes opiniones, Liam fue una de los líderes del movimiento britpop en los años 90, y continúa hasta el día de hoy siendo uno de los personajes característicos y más reconocibles de la música británica.

    Fun doc. I'm eager to hear the band play live when they come to the US. Liam reminds me of a rapper in that he takes himself too seriously. He is a pop star after all - no matter what kind of a hard-ass attitude he cops.

      Doesn't matter that anyone splits... it's the end product...which we have yet to see... 'cause Oasis is NOT Liam's 'end product.' He might not get along with his bro... but he's not your bro, so just listen to the music... 'tis all.

    • @sionlewis827
      @sionlewis827 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +treid100182 What's your point? 'but he's not your bro, so just listen to the music''. What on earth are you on about? I replied to a comment that read, ''great album... we want more''. I pointed out the obvious fact that Beady Eye are no longer, so don't expect any new material any time soon, if ever. As for Oasis, that ship has sailed in my opinion and as long as Liam refuses to grow up, there's not a chance that Noel will go back. He has no need to neither.

      There was no big announcement or anything like that. He (Liam) tweeted, ''Beady Eye are no more'' and that was it. Gem Archer and Andy Bell have since both said that they didn't think Liam's heart was in it any more. Shame really, thought both albums were very good, a lot better than most of us thought they would be, if we're all honest.

    He seems to have just been generally nicer since the demise of Oasis - and it seems like he actually cares about giving good vocals again; unlike the live performances in the late days of Oasis when he sounded shit and nothing like his earlier brillance. He's coming back to form.

    I said this on another youtube clip; I wish people would stop asking Liam about Oasis. Except for the Stone Roses why does everyone (it seems) is always asking about 'brit pop'. This is beady eye and from the clips I've heard of this new album, it sounds really good.

      It's the way UK bands roll now. Break up, do solo stuff and then reunite 10+ yrs down the road for the pension fund. Only a mug would believe they are finished for good. They know what they are doing. Maximising the £$
      You will see them on stage as Oasis again i guarantee it. Will probably headline Glastonbury soon enough too.

    I really think beady eye ended because of Liam's cheating on his wife in 2010 with that New York journalist. He not only cheated but he knocked her up and has another kid to support. Gem and Andys wives are ood friends with Liams ex wife zNicole. I think gem and andys wives couldnt stand being around kiam after what he did. Also Gem fell and cracked his skull and that really slowed beady eye to. halt with touring.

    Liam's the real deal, everyone goes on about Noel being the talented brother, maybe so but Liam is the straightforward brother, no bullshit, no lies, honest & the one who actually cares about his fans. Why do you think the rest of the band stayed by him & not Noel?
    Noel screwed too many people over in pursuit of his own needs.
