    I still remember one of the first multiplayer games I played on that map with the bunker complex on top of a hill ; and I got a tiger up there and it took an absolute beating for over 15 minutes and held the line before I pushed too far and got a shreck in the side from 15 meters from some sneaky Infantry; I doubt a panther could’ve done such a task.

      Yeah the Tiger is just amazing for anchoring an attack or defense I'm reading Tigers In The Mud right now and its crazy how much punishment they can take .

    Another great topic showcasing why you are the king of GOH content! I have always gravitated to the Tiger because quite frankly not only is it a boss but it just looks so damn cool and intimidating.

      Yeah somehow the Panther was cheaper and faster to produce than the Panzer 4 (which to be fair is a prewar design mostly)
      Panther's biggest fault was its transmission (and to a lesser extent its overlapping roadwheels). All in all its quite impressive that just under 6,000 panthers and an additional 425 Jagdpanther's were built in 2 and half years given the state of german manufacture. Compared to the Panzer 4 which had a 4-year head start, just under 10,000 of all types were built.

    Most games with Tiger tanks, dont consider how Tiger crews had to create their own version of "slopped" armor, by sliding/angling the Tiger to the 11 or 01 o'clock position.
    If done so, the Tiger armor values were increased a lot.

    • @SirJellyBean
      @SirJellyBean  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've been reading books about tiger tanks from the crews who served in them and this myth of angling the armour doesn't seem true tbh , most of the time if the enemy had a weapon strong enough to defeat the tigers frontal armour the slight angling of the tank would make little difference, I'm using Tiger in the mud and Panzer commander memoirs for this.

    • @k98_zock_tv47
      @k98_zock_tv47 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SirJellyBean its physics.
      Also the distances play a role here. Every tank engagement on Call to Arms is basicly melee :)
      Penetration values drop off with more distance, so bringing the Tiger to an angle was helping indeed.

    • @SirJellyBean
      @SirJellyBean  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@k98_zock_tv47 it is physics yes but think I real life combat you wouldn't be angling your tank as your pointing the front to one side given greater chance for the enemy to see the flank , all I'd say is read the memoirs and the Tiger comamnders them self's tall about how the went about combat.

    • @k98_zock_tv47
      @k98_zock_tv47 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SirJellyBean Consider, that on 1500m - 2000m you are angled slightly in any way with the Tiger, cause in combat you have 359 possibilities NOT to show your complete front. But on that distance the kinetic energy is dropped off more of some incoming (except HEAT and similar) projectiles.
      German heavy cats of that era were intended to fight on distances.
      And yes, I've spoken a lot with a former Tiger commander back in the 90s. I just speak about what I heared from him and I believe him.
      Even in the tanks manual (the famous "Tiger Fibel") such angling action is told to do for the crew, if I remember correctly.

      @SirJellyBean  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@k98_zock_tv47 fair points just going off what I've read in there books honestly I believe in the mandess of combat the angling off armour just very really happened but I'm happy to take your points on board also love the discussion as always 😁

    Tiger I is the better choice in almost every situation. Weak side armor is a dealbreaker when hidden AT guns and flanking enemies are everywhere. In conquest enhanced, a panther will last 5 minutes.

  • @funkdoctaspoch
    @funkdoctaspoch 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    They both cool but you can angle tiger to be more tanky. Thus makes tiger is very effective in slow pushes. Panther is more like a flanker, hit and run tank. Fast speed makes it ideal for flank and run over enemy AT guns, mortars and such. I notice that panthers sloped rear is armor more efficent than it's weak side armor. Rear armor bounces even soviet 57 mm. Never show your side to the enemy while controlling the panther, guarenteed ammo rack.

    why? tiger is great multipurpose tank that can attack infantry and tanks becuse of great 88mm gun, and itself has:
    -great armor
    -good mobility
    -looks like tiger
