Though The Helio Sequence clearly deserves success orders of magnitude above their current status, a part of me is happy to accept them just as they are: a band who's stunning music speaks to my soul. Other bands that I adored reached mainstream success and lost a little of that personal connection, where I can easily see The Helio Sequence being a band I'll enjoy just as much for the rest of my life.
Love The Helio Sequence. Saw them about 4 or 5 years ago in Sacramento. Unfortunately I ate a REALLY potent pot brownie and I was so baked I had to sit down for the whole performance. So I didn't get to see the performance though I enjoyed hearing it, lol.
I wonder if that drummer ever plays with the bass player from Haim. They would be the most distracting rhythm section ever. It would be hilarious. I bet they'd sound good, too, but who cares about that.
It's a shame that the promoters of big festivals in México do not give opportunities to bands as incredible beautiful like this one, after 6 years waiting finally they had a presentation in just a few days in México City and was canceled due to "poor ticket sales" What is happening? My heart is a little broken.
Claus Bertels That's just his drum face. You ever see any musicians that get super into what they're doing? Like giving themselves fully to the music? That's whats happening here. That's just how he plays. I saw them live 2 years ago and it was the same thing. Talked to them after the show, he's a perfectly normal dude. He just makes funny faces when he drums.

The number of people oblivious to drummer O-face is kind of shocking. That's literally one of the hallmarks of someone with the rhythm inside of them.
