    Beautiful shop. How nice to work in. The one thing you had that was most important is your shop dog. No shop should be without one. I have a 6 month old Beagle and she can find things I didn’t even know I had. And if you drop something you have 2 seconds to pick it up before it’s gone lol well it’s 2024 and I’ll bet you have your new lathe. Your granddaughter is very lucky. When my first of 3 sons was born I made an 18 th century reproduction cradle. All solid black walnut. Carved wheat sheafs W on the top front. A family heirloom . Four grandkids started life in there lol. Before too long I suspect a great, great grandkid. Interesting as I was a tool and die maker at the time. Now my garage hobby shop is metal and wood working. Pretty much the same processes. Just different medias. Wishing you much success sir. Enjoyed your video. Hope to make my first shop tour in a few months.

    Great tour! Likes and dislikes on that drum sander? Also, interested in your Festool rail storage, I like they are over the top of each other saving wall space!

      Thanks! The drum sander has served me very well for quite a few years and I couldn't be happier! Obviously, I changed the original useless stand but, that's the only negative I have to say about it. The rail storage actually came from a member on my forums. They were originally designed to fit on a panel of a garage door and with a thin layer of cork, they hold well when the door is opened. Great use of space generally unused in many shops. Suggest logging into the forums and asking. I'm sure the original poster there would be happy to either supply the measurements or I can grab them from the ones I have.

    I've went through the mental gymnastics of choosing between the 14BX and 18BX. Being you have both, if you could only have one, which one would you choose and why?

    • @KevsWoodworks
      @KevsWoodworks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ultimately, it depends on what kind of work you do. If my saw was primarily for resaw, then I would have the 18. If I just wanted general use with the occasional resaw, then I would have the 14. The 14 is actually plenty to do everything I've asked of either saw so far.

    I discovered your channel about a month ago when someone posted on a Facebook group I subscribe to your collaboration with Jeff on his workbench. I enjoyed watching your workbench build and look forward to your future videos. Great, informative videos. Well done. In this video of your shop tour, what are the two square things mounted to the ceiling in front of your clamp wall? Thanks in advance….Mike from central PA

      Thanks Mike! The items you're referring to are actually lights for when I'm filming at either side of the clamp wall. One is aimed at the router table and the other is aimed at my 14" bandsaw. Not normal items for most shops.

    Happy New Year. May 2023 be a Banner Year for you & your family. I see you have both the 14bx & 18bx. I’m looking at both of them as possibilities for my first bandsaw. I have large rough stock material so Resawing is a must but don’t want to sacrifice finesse procedures. Can only afford one model though. Is the 14bx up to the task of cutting up 4-6” thick black walnut planks? Cheers.

    • @KevsWoodworks
      @KevsWoodworks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the 14BX will handle that resaw.

    How do you like your Woodpecker Flip and Rip? Worth it?

    • @KevsWoodworks
      @KevsWoodworks  ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, it hasn't fully integrated into my work flow yet. On the few occasions I've used it, it's been awesome. I'm sure it's just me but, things like this take time to work into my flow. No regrets.

      The shop is ~30 x 35. I think that's what you're asking?
