    Everything is like brand new! If ever a video could make you green with envy it’s this one! Fair play to you, if I could, I would buy the exact same set up! Good to see people doing well! 🙏😊👌

I'm on a little Quest right now to give all my fellow Woodworkers subscription so I wanted to reach out say hello and let you know you've got another new sub. From Doug

    What a great use of space and wonderful ideas for organization! I work out of half of a small two car garage, similar in space to yours, and will be looking to implement several of your ideas to my space come Spring. Thanks for the tour and explanation of your process and workflow.

    Hey man, thanks for the video! As the proud owner of a small, one car garage shop, I'm always eager to see how other guys manage it. I'll add my two cents here for anyone that cares for it...
    Things that I like: the general layout is similar to others and what I'm planning for my shop as well (after lengthy consideration and working in a sub-par layout for years). I like how you made space for the mitre saw. That wall is the best spot for it. I also agree with your placement of the table saw and assembly/outfeed table. I've seen this in a bunch of other small shop videos and I'm going to do the same. Of course, every shop needs to be designed based on the work you do and I'm not familiar with what you do, so I'll go out on a limb here and assume that not having a jointer and bandsaw isn't a big deal for you... or that having to pull out the planner every time you use it isn't a problem either. These are three items that I'll need to make room for in my shop so I'm going to have to get creative.
    Things that I'm not sure that I would have done: you clearly love systainer boxes... that's ok but unless you regularly pack them out to job sites, I'm not sure simple drawers wouldn't have done a better job for less money. I'm also not a fan of open storage in what might be a rather dusty environment. I would prefer the clean look of drawers and doors.
    Something I will seriously consider: buying a rolling tool chest instead of building my own cabinets with doors and drawers. What can I say, it's purpose built and you can take it with you when you move! Smart.

    I like that it's so neat looking. I was in a 12' x 25' space for a while and between a garage door, window, and two doors it was difficult to find wall space for everything. Having the systainers really maximizes the edge of your available space.

      @@BrianWatersOutdoors Regarding the horse stall mats. I would go a different route. Something softer. I use them for my gym and had some left over for my assembly area and they are not that much better than concrete. I would definitely look for something softer. Your choice though.

    I live in the 210 area code, I didn’t see in your video but what or how do you keep the area cool, if it’s like the 210 it’s hot and humid, there’s times I can’t even with because of it being so hot.
    Also I’m looking into getting a SawStop I’m undecided if I want to go with the 1.75 or the 3 hp, You mentioned you haven’t had any issues with it , just trying to get some kind of feedback.

    • @BrianWatersOutdoors
      @BrianWatersOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have gone with 3hp if I had 220 in the garage, but I don’t. That’s really the only reason I went with the 1.75. I haven’t had it big down on anything I’ve ran through it though, including some 6/8 oak

    I LOVE your shop!! Mine is similar size 360 square feet. That double MFT/cabinet is great. I’m stealing that idea for my MFT. I have a 4x8 torsion box outfeed/assembly. But I use my MFT and clamping elements for my sanding though. I’ve tried to get my hands on the vacuum system but it’s been on back order. Now I think it’s discontinued 👎

      Ya that's what I been saying at just kept counting them after the second one.☺️ I was like one that's a waste of money and space I don't see any need for more then 2. One small one to clean the shop and one of the big main ones he has to stay connected to stuff with close off valves. He's worried about space he could make up quite a bit getting rid of 3 dust collector's.

    Would love to know more on where and why you use 3 differant Festool Vac systems. I have a CT36 for my saw abd built in router. Wa thinking into getting a nitherone for my sanding and assy table. Any advise on this. TY

    • @BrianWatersOutdoors
      @BrianWatersOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the midi and the mini as dedicated dust collectors for my miter saw and table saw. I didn’t want to have to move the vacuums to different tools every time I used the table or miter saw. My ct26 I use for my “everything” vac. I use that for all of my sanding, dominoes, and other hand tools that use dust extraction. I also use the ct26 for basic shop cleanup.

    • @tcbridges
      @tcbridges 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are the Srong enough to vac for a Sawstop and a mitersaw. I would of never thought they would of been powerfuk enough. If you coukd only buy one of those which one would it me. Thabjs for tge help cant afford to buy both

    • @BrianWatersOutdoors
      @BrianWatersOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, not strong enough by themselves. For the miter saw, I use the mini for the dust collection connected directly to the saw, but I also run my larger delta 2hp dc inside the miter saw box, so I essentially have two vacs running. Hope that makes sense. The midi is only used on the sawstop for the blade guard dust collection. I run my 2hp dust collector hooked directly to the cabinet on the sawstop for the bulk of the dust collection.

    Nice and snug, very well organized Multiple dust collectors strikes me as redundant, why not recover space by going to just one? A second question on the Racedeck, how is it on the feet?

    • @BrianWatersOutdoors
      @BrianWatersOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The multiple dust collectors don’t take up any “usable” floor space. They are all under a piece of equipment and are dedicated solely to that machine. The race deck honestly is the same as concrete in my opinion. I wish there was a bit of padding, but it’s still pretty rough standing all day on it.

    I know what you mean cutting a $125.00 hose. I just keep thing I may want to use it elsewhere if I cut it.

      I used to get into that years ago, but not really anymore.

    As a small shop owner there is only one thing I can say; "It must be nice". I see your shop and I see tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools and shop organizers. Your table saw cost almost as much as my shop building. So, yes it must be nice to have an unlimited budget.

      Who said unlimited? This has taken me almost 20 years to acquire and I keep my things in good shape. I take care of them.

    I don't understand how some loath sustainers and festool. I only have one systainer and one festool drill due to budgetary constraints. However, those who have copious amounts, more power to you!

    The festool storage boxes are disgusting and overpriced.

    We get that you love the brand, but it would be best if you didn't set the bar for all the newcomers. Festool doesn't sponsor anyone so you're not making any money from them. Do your video to show your shop ideas and STOP naming the brand. That creates unrealistic expectations for the newbies. Say the tool or hardware, not the brand.

    Hey Brian, can you show how the MFT units move around? Nice shop!

      Mine don’t move. I built cabinets and took the legs off the MFT’s and put them on top of the base cabinets. 👍🏻

    He doesn’t want to cut a $100 hose but has a systainer to hold his pencils
