I'm still not convinced with Shubhman Gill as number 3 in tests esp in overseas conditions considering his technique. I think KL Rahul should be the ideal choice to bat at 3 (esp in overseas tours) considering he's better suited technically.
I don't think technique is any issue with gill. He is as gifted technically as anybody else. The only thing that he is learning and yet to master is the temperament and the ability to read the game. These two things made Kohli one of the greatest to ever play the game because if you see Rohit sharma was more gifted than Kohli but kohli's mindset took him to another level in all formats. And gill I feel is on the same path with a little more natural talent.
KL is overrated. Jadeja and Axar have a better batting batting average than him in Tests. There are numerous young talents who deserve an opportunity since KL has crapped in 51 Test matches. Top 5 batsmen who deserve a spot in the XI: 1. Sarfaraz Khan 2. Musheer Khan 3. Pradosh Ranjan Paul (W) 4. Rinku Singh 5. Devdutt Paddikal
A great player of spin he his.. but we've witnessed that the ball pitching outside leg skidding on to pads (not turning) has troubled him a lot .. he anticipated and tried getting on the pitch of the ball but then the leg spin was the problem as he couldn't judge the fall and the spin hence getting an outside edge and git caught. In my opinion he should be a holding back puch player against the spin.
To win consistently overseas need stong middle order so need to make changes and give opportunities now to youngsters so they are ready. My pick Rohit, Jaiswal, Gill, Safraz, Jurel, Pant, allrounders, bowlers
Subhman, no doubt be one of the talented young players but in the last 25 innings Subhman Gill scored only one century , unfortunately Ruturaj Gaikwad is still waiting & performing consistently not getting a chance
Prince Gill❤❤❤
Superlative comments by DK. Nice observation about gaps
That’s again a huge statement.
It's against Bangladesh guys! We will talk about gill if he will score in sena countries as number 3

He batted well in Australia in his debut tour, in England he got few starts but he hasn't played much tests there

Go get your stats right he has scored 3 centuries and 2 half centuries in his last 7 innings in test cricket
Gill will certainly have a better test career than Virat because he is far more talented than Virat and is temperamentally strong too.
