I have both Tom Ford PJ and Alexandria’s FB. Forbidden plum opens much harsher and straight into some of the spices and woodiness. Plum Japonais opens more smoothly with the plum and spices. But on the dry down, they are very, very similar. Im glad to have a fragrance thats so similar to plum japonais since its my all time favorite scent

Plum Japonais is my all time favorite fragrance , and i'm stocked for life with 4 250ml decanters. I've tried all clones , including Forbidden Plum ,and up until now there's no clone that comes over 80% close. HH even said in one of his interviews Forbidden Plum is not a direct clone of Plum Japonais,he changed something. As a standalone fragrance it smells good , but it's more a flanker than a substitute.

I have two bottles of the originals. Well, one and a half. It's pretty much what you have but the base notes are a bit stronger and the top notes smell a bit more natural. Plums are a real show of skill as a perfumer. It's a beautiful smell when done right, but it's very easy to do wrong.

If you ever get a chance to try Scentual Obsessions version of Andy Warhol, I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised especially in terms of pricing and scent quality. It kind of has a cult following in the background of the fragcom and, man, it smells soooooo good. I'm interested in trying the FAME15 for comparison. But yeah, I am starting to really really love plum fragrances thanks to those that you mentioned (especially Plum Japonais -- WHY IS IT DISCONTINUED?!!!) and a few others like Guerlain L'Homme Ideal Extreme and Gallagher Fragrances Rose All Dae. Great video, Chris! Always glad to stay tuned. :)
It's crazy PJ was discontinued. Perhaps it will trickle down into the Signature line at some point.
Do you think it would be worth getting both of the fragrances? I already have Fame 15 and find it is plum with woods while forbidden plum is plum with florals. I can't decide if they are too similar to justify owning both. Also, the plum note is A LOT more prominent in the Fame 15. I might just be trying to convince myself to own both because I am always on the hunt for good plum fragrances.

If you're going to buy clones (which you should avoid if you can as it takes money from skilled perfumers who work very hard to learn the trade) Alexandria are the best ones.
