Plum is one of my favorite notes...If I'm gonna wear a fruity fragrance, I reach for dark fruits or dried fruits like plum. Plum is just this rich, dark, winey, almost savory note that gives almost any fragrance its blended in more depth...and sometimes a touch of sweetness without being too sweet. It is one of the most versatile fruits to me - because it can go in a 'feminine', floral, sweet or gourmand type fragrance - just as easy as it can be paired with smoke and leather for a bad@$$ masculine leaning fragrance...I think its NOT that other fruits are paired with Plums to make IT more fruity - I think Plum is paired with other fruits to calm them down! So, its not like lollipops and bubble-gum and gummybears...Its like a rich, sultry, deep fruity note. Three fragrances I own with plum that didn't make the list but are worth noting are: Wood Jasmin by BDK, Midnight Jasmine by Pearlescent and Suki Essence by Weil...Thank You for doing a Plum video for us! xoxo

I just bought Plum in Cognac and dang, it smells SOOOOOO good. I actually sprayed my arm this morning so I could smell it as I did my housework before taking a shower and getting ready for the rest of the day. It's probably my favorite that features the note.
Plum in Congac is hands down one of fav discoveries in 2021, such a great boozy dark plumy experience, even the juice has a plum color to it, delicious fragrance and it deserves to be number one in this list...Great review Sebastian..Thank you and stay safe!
Thanks for the suggestion on the Plum Japionais dup! For me, the absolute best plum frags in my collection are Initio Paragon (omfg) and Penhaligon's Halfeti Leather. I fell hard for Plum in Cognac a few months ago so will be adding that once my decant runs out.

My favorite fragrance with the note of plum is Danse Sauvage from Chris Collins. Smells like an even better version of HalfetI Cedar. Came out way before too.
I love to eat plums. It's possible that I've tried only one fragrance which includes plum as a note, and it is "Joop! Homme Ice", which is not bad, but it's not great. I hope to try all of the fragrances which are mentioned in this video.

Love that you always include brands and Houses I haven't tried or in some cases even heard of yet. I subscribe to over 60 different channels on this platform but seem to ALWAYS keep coming back to The Perfume Guy! I don't know how familiar you might be with the brand House of Matriarch, but Christi Meshell has two plum-centric scents in her catalog: Sacre Noir (her Yule/Xmas scent with a sugarplum accord) and The Longing; both of these are sensational. Dawn from DSH also did a Sugar Plum scent for one of her annual Holiday perfumes 2 or 3 years ago. Molton Brown has/had a perfume called Muddled Plum but sadly, if I recollect correctly, it's been discontinued. Thanks for all you do for we viewers (research, travel, spending your hard-earned cash). Your dedication and passion are evident and have helped to make you one of (if not) THE best content creator in the fragcomm/blogosphere; and this is coming from someone who has been in the sniffing game for over 15 years and worked "in the industry" albeit peripherally. I was looking so forward to this video! I have Plum in Cognac in my wishlist; I love plum and vetiver. I used to have Nest Black Tulip, which had a really nice plum note (and patchouli and peppery violet).

Great selection! I have Feminite and Rouge Saray. Love them both. I do not find myself pulling for them often but I do really love then and will have to put them front and center so they stand out. LOL
I always felt that SL Feminite Du Bois was quite similar to TF Plum Japonais. I'll have to check out the Smokey Plum, could always use another cheap alternative to PJ.
Mmmmm, our favorite Rouge Saray up there in the top of the list. Love that one sooo much. I need to get my nose on that Gallagher Rose all Dae as well as the Van Cleef and Arpels Orchid Leather, they both sound great to me.
What a great list!! I agree with the Serge Lutens but would also say their Fille de Joie has plum and other darker fruits, florals and Musk imo. A great plum one! Another plum I like is Tom Ford’s Fleur de Chine. A variety of florals with plum, peach and cedar. Wazamba has a beautiful plum balancing all the resins and woods. Plum is almost a warm fruit, and dried it’s a roasty almost nutty cola aspect to it as well. I agree with a great Rose Plum combo! Or a Plum Apricot with a cedar to balance it? Sebastian, what an enjoyable video! I do have a few of these fragrances (BDK Tabac Rose, Lutens Feminite du Bois, Chypre Palatin and an almost full 50ml bottle of Plum Jsponsise. Too bad it was discontinued. Chypre Palatin is one of my all-time favorite fragrances.

When I saw the Serge Lutens & Scents of Wood bottles inthe thumbnail, I instantly clicked before I realized that this is the Plumb Fragrance Video that you announced. Plumb in Cognac & Feminite Du Bois are on the wishlist! I was recently informed that Serge Lutens is no longer sold in the states.
Plum is one of my favorite notes in fragrances. In my top, I would add Plum Japonais from Tom Ford, Arabesque from The Merchant Of Venice and Black Collection II from Widian. I bought a sample of Eau de Mystique by Wesker two years ago, without knowing anything about it and I immediately loved it.
With how cold it’s gotten here in the Bay Area, I can imagine a plum fragrance would be perfect! Especially, in combination with all the holiday foods coming up. I’ll have to check a few out! Great video!
Plum is not a favourite note of mine but I sampled Bibliothèque by Byredo and that one was a beautiful, fruity leather! Tabak Rose alwyas makes me laugh because it straight up smelled like Big Mac sauce to me and I didn't care for Wood Jasmin and that has plums too. Great collection Sebastian, thanks for the video

I recently picked up Plum in Cognac- and I was expecting it to be more fruity and tart- but it really is gorgeous! The drydown is so complex and beautiful. I do not know Athena fragrances!
I've only tried Feminite du Bois and Rose all Dae from this list. I didn't like either to be honest, and i was expecting to. I do have Dark Purple from Montale and Pulp from Byredo which doesn't say it contains plum but they remind me of one another. Maybe I am not a fan of this note ultimately 😬 the Fath sounds nice though

I had the pleasure to smell Plum in Cognac from Scents of Wood in the recent box from Nez/Au Parfum,from the start to the drydown, absolutely fantastic, rich, deep and cozy! A plum fragrance I loved, but sadly discontinued was "Plum" from Mary Greenwell, fresh plum with white florals and oakmoss

I love the idea of plum & actually eating plums which do pare so well with spices and woods - I'd love to sample this entire list starting with Rouge Saray and Plum In Cognac ; Wesker Eau de Mystique intrigues me with the notes of neroli and blood orange.
MDCI Chypre Palatin is actually my favorite Amber fragrance. I consider it an amber more than a Chypre. I don't consider it a plum fragrance even though the note is there. I have a layering group that features notes of plum, dried fruits, dates, sometimes fig fruit, and some leather. I just got a decant of Atelier des Ors Rouge Saray so I've added it that layering group. The other frags in this group are Le Dandy Pour Homme by D'Orsay, Michael by Michael Kors, John Varvatos OG (date note), Serge Lutens Arabie, and Andy Warhol by Bond No.9.
I don’t know plum well enough. I’d like to try the dupe for sure. I’ve had a sample of the SL and really liked it. As always, I’m inspired to try more and more and more!!

I've Never try Plum Japonais, but there's Something I noticed after testing Athena Smokey Plum, it REALLY REALLY reminds me to Vanilla Havanne, but less sirupy... in Vanilla Havanne there's a juiciness that's intoxicating. I'm loving both of them anyways 😄. Keep on rocking...!
I have Eau de Mystique and really enjoy the dark prune aroma. I’m hit or miss with plum fragrances especially if the plum is prominent. In my experience the plum is not always delectable. My favorite fragrance with the plum note is currently Paragon by Initio.

I am all over the plum fragrance it's also beautiful in body products. Korres vanilla plum. You actually can't offend anyone with a plum scent. Perfection 👌
I am not very familiar with the plum note in fragrances. I was so disappointed with plum japonais, i was waiting something mind blowing but it was just ok. The hype in my opinion comes because it is discontinued. Chypre palatin is beautiful but my favourite fragrance with plum is Guerlain's l'homme Ideal Extreme!!

The only fragrance I own with plum note is BDK Tabac Rose. I'm obsessed with the juicy tart plum opening. I'm now interested to try other fragrances with plum.
I have 9 from this list and my favorite is Amber Absolutely. I have the original bottle and also have a backup in the new packaging that I haven't opened. I'm hoping it's the same formulation.
Which one is the most ambery,, rasinous, smoke, leathery plum scent without flowers out of them? As mentioned many times - Ambre Eccentrico is my favorite so far. In case of plum i like the darker style. It gives them a fruity touch without losing the mysterious character. It matches so well with resins 🤤 Well check some of your recommendations for sure 👍
Yeah, I heard that the jasmine in Isvaraya could be a bit much. One of the reasons I passed it by tbh. Never really got much plum from Plum Japonais myself. The spiciness is actually closer to Carven's Homme in the mid on me. Rouge Saray for sure.

Don't have many Plum frags but the ones I do enjoy: TF Plum Japonais, BR Tobacco & Tonka Bean, Bond No.9 Andy Warhol and Liz Claiborne Lucky #6.

Byredo's Eleventh Hour is really nice plum and spice fragrance. Not too shouty, just right.

A designer plum pick from me, but Narciso Rodriguez’ Musc Noir has a gorgeous and addictive plum facet. Great vid! 😊

I had the pleasure to smell Plum in Cognac from Scents of Wood in the recent box from Nez/Au Parfum,from the start to the drydown, absolutely fantastic, rich, deep and cozy! A plum fragrance I loved, but sadly discontinued was "Plum" from Mary Greenwell, fresh plum with white florals and oakmoss

I love the idea of plum & actually eating plums which do pare so well with spices and woods - I'd love to sample this entire list starting with Rouge Saray and Plum In Cognac ; Wesker Eau de Mystique intrigues me with the notes of neroli and blood orange.

MDCI Chypre Palatin is actually my favorite Amber fragrance. I consider it an amber more than a Chypre. I don't consider it a plum fragrance even though the note is there.
I have a layering group that features notes of plum, dried fruits, dates, sometimes fig fruit, and some leather. I just got a decant of Atelier des Ors Rouge Saray so I've added it that layering group. The other frags in this group are Le Dandy Pour Homme by D'Orsay, Michael by Michael Kors, John Varvatos OG (date note), Serge Lutens Arabie, and Andy Warhol by Bond No.9.
I don’t know plum well enough. I’d like to try the dupe for sure. I’ve had a sample of the SL and really liked it. As always, I’m inspired to try more and more and more!!

I've Never try Plum Japonais, but there's Something I noticed after testing Athena Smokey Plum, it REALLY REALLY reminds me to Vanilla Havanne, but less sirupy... in Vanilla Havanne there's a juiciness that's intoxicating. I'm loving both of them anyways 😄. Keep on rocking...!
I have Eau de Mystique and really enjoy the dark prune aroma. I’m hit or miss with plum fragrances especially if the plum is prominent. In my experience the plum is not always delectable. My favorite fragrance with the plum note is currently Paragon by Initio.
Jimmy Choo Fever is the only plum fragrance I own. I am interested in trying others.

I am all over the plum fragrance it's also beautiful in body products. Korres vanilla plum. You actually can't offend anyone with a plum scent. Perfection 👌

I am not very familiar with the plum note in fragrances. I was so disappointed with plum japonais, i was waiting something mind blowing but it was just ok. The hype in my opinion comes because it is discontinued. Chypre palatin is beautiful but my favourite fragrance with plum is Guerlain's l'homme Ideal Extreme!!
Great video and astute observations regarding how plum wears and what it needs to really shine. I have a friend who has a big decant of PJ by TF and I always reach for that. ;)

I have not tried a whole lot of fragrances with plum, but Rouge Sarây is one of my absolute favorites now. I definitely want a full bottle.

@@unicornifelici6135 It is very sweet, but not in the typical way, at least to me. It is like sticky dates at the holidays. That's the image I get when I smell it. Very transportive. I would sample it first, for sure.
Rouge Sarây is definitely for me. I'm keen though to try Plums in Cognac.
The only fragrance I own with plum note is BDK Tabac Rose. I'm obsessed with the juicy tart plum opening. I'm now interested to try other fragrances with plum.

I have 9 from this list and my favorite is Amber Absolutely. I have the original bottle and also have a backup in the new packaging that I haven't opened. I'm hoping it's the same formulation.

As mentioned many times - Ambre Eccentrico is my favorite so far.
In case of plum i like the darker style. It gives them a fruity touch without losing the mysterious character. It matches so well with resins 🤤

My favorite plum fragrance is "Boyfriend" by Kate Walsh -the 2011 edition (well, it is more of a myhrr/vanilla, but I also smell the plum).

The closest I get to a plum fragrance is Liaisons Dangereuses By Kilian. I miss the smell of it. I can't afford it anymore.

Yeah, I heard that the jasmine in Isvaraya could be a bit much. One of the reasons I passed it by tbh. Never really got much plum from Plum Japonais myself. The spiciness is actually closer to Carven's Homme in the mid on me. Rouge Saray for sure.
There is a certain fruitiness in Plum Japonais but yeah I can see why people don't get plums from it!
