Never heard of Flutter before. Not a dev. Don't know any programming languages. Not really sure why TH-cam recommended this to me!
But Flutter sounds pretty interesting. Would be nice if it could work on Linux and Mac if it doesn't already.

I'm loving the fact that I stuck with flutter for years now. I've been coding privately with flutter, convincing companies I worked with to use flutter instead of react or ionic and I'm loving it.

I remember attending the release event of Flutter 2.5 and beta for Flutter Windows support. Now it is 2.10 and Flutter Windows is in stable version. Truly amazing work. Thank you Flutter Team.

I hope flutter will one day replace electron. I still wouldn't want to use a flutter application for something like a creative tool but it's definitely an improvement over having small utility applications take tons of storage and ram.

I mean of course, if you're trying to build the next Photoshop, there's NO way you can build that with flutter right now, maybe not ever, but for common applications, this could be more than enough to provide awesome consistent UIs across platforms. I do want this to replace Electron

Flutter is my favourite framework to work with. It’s very easy to get an application working and just build up things. Dart is also a very elegant language, that keeps getting better and better.
I wish state management could be better out of the box, but I’m getting used to BLoC. Once you “get” it, it’s beautiful.
it's great that it has COM support. I once had a time modifying software for HMI interface that uses win32 forms and button which makes it hard to maintain layouts as every button has fixed position that it doesn't scale well when window getting resized. looked at MS Fluent language but it was(?) strictly UWP and wish it were possible to build apps that is easy to manage layout like web apps but no overhead like Electron based app. Hopefully Flutter engine is lighter than what is being used under Electron which is Chromium
I'm really excited for this! I always wanted to develop an App on PC but just didn't start and procrastinated it. Now a mobile giant comes to Windows, I believe I have a reason and excuse to start learning flutter and developing apps!

Yea, this is the final push I needed to try flutter out. I was always a bit hesitant with learning flutter since I'm a web developer, and PWA's where mostly fine for creating mobile apps. But I didn't really have anything for desktop app development (except electron, but I didn't really like the idea of just embedding chromium into a desktop app) Definitely am going to toy around with this!
If instead of Counter App, there was the standard Website templates like. Blog, eCommerce, Brand, and Admin, it'd be game over. Total UI kit

@@lewyathan exactly ! Competition is always a good thing. I do not develop with electron, but as a user I’m not that happy about having all those 200mb apps, each including the chrome engine.

One big problem is the lack of Firebase for desktop... Without it desktop feels like a second class citizen in Flutter…

as far as I know firebase has a REST API, no?
you can always write a wrapper for it, or directly use it
14:17 firebase_auth was mentioned so I'm guessing it is supported

I’v been following the progress of Flutter since the first public release and I am still blown away by what the Flutter team has done! I was very pleased with my prototypes on mobile devices. Never had a chance to try the web build and this windows app builder is incredible! Keep it up Flutter team you are awesome 👏 🔥

I think this is not a part of the Flutter team's job. It's the Firebase team's.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Flutter will still be in Dart and you can use Firebase with Dart so I don't see why there wouldn't be support
@@lazarkatanic8886 It wouldn't be supported, because the C++ library that the Firebase teams use to power all their clients doesn't support windows.

Google just buried a whole bunch of frameworks. True cross-platform functionality and plus Dart is a VERY capable and VERY fast language.
Great work guys! Can we get an update on the SEO integration on websites/webapps made with flutter? That's the only issue stopping me from using flutter to make everything, seems a little weird how flutter is made by google but doesn't support SEO in google itself. Thanks again!
Flutter community is the most wholesome community ever
You guys need to provide a widget that enables us to move items from one reorderable list to another! It's something that simply doesn't have a proper solution especially considering that the packages available are buggy, hard to customize and simply do not harmonize with other widgets, like for example if I want to move an item into another pageview.
