As a Filipino Muslim, I'm so impressed by this Thai Muslim district. It's so clean and organized compared to the Filipino community in Manila. I want to visit this area someday. Thanks for sharing!
Welcome to the channel! Yes, hopefully you can visit one day! 😃
I ever lived this area in BKK for 7 years. That was very good atmosphere there, especially in Ramadan. Muslim community in the heart of Bangkok
I want to visit Thailand with family please guide me which hotel I stay I belong to Muslim family
@@Raza830 I hope this is not late reply. I recommend Almerozhotel Bangkok. From Suvarnabhumi Airport, you can take airport rail link and then get off at Ramkhamhaeng Station and walk to the hotel easily. You can find lots of Muslims street food along Ramkhamhaeng Rd. opposite the Ramkhamhaeng University and Huamark Indoor Stadium. Marhabal Bangkok.

Dont leave us out brother 🇧🇩
Awesome
I actually visited this area and been to Darul Aman Masjid as well especially looking for Halal food but there are a few Halal markets around Bangkok. I've been to 3 or 4 masjids around Bangkok including this one and Masjid Haroon which is close to the Chao Praya river. As a Muslim tourist from the UK who travelled to over 45 countries including going to Thailand 4 times which included 2 visits to Bangkok, it is definitely a Muslim-friendly city with so much amenities but yel like any major city you need to keep away from certain areas at night.
Southern Thailand is definitely the best place to visit for Muslims especially Krabi.
Thanks for sharing, yeah many people don't know Thailand has a good population of Muslims
Hatyai too. Big city with huge Muslim population
@@MrKirapu Yes I heard about that but didn't get time to visit

14:50 thats true , as an ex airline crew ,I love to visit a mosque everytime i transitted, a memoric journey 🥰
This was an excellent video. I’m not Muslim but I don’t eat pork or beef so I tend to gravitate to halal food. I will be traveling to Thailand in March. I must search for this area.
I'm glad you like the video 😊
Pad khra pao is great, can made with chicken also. Very testy, i love it. Ask for not much spicy. From dhaka, Bangladesh. Also eat Chicken, beef or fish ball, very delicious and cheap. Nissar.
Food ranger is not Muslim.
Good choice!
Bangkok has at least 27 mosques. The first religious building you will encounter when taking the motorway from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the city isn't a temple but a big mosque. Back when Siam ( Thailand old name) won the war, they would bring people from defeated kingdoms to live in the capital's suburbs, allowing them to work as laborers and obtain nationality once they do the job the king would give them land. Muslims were among the groups helping to dig canals around Bangkok, along with Mon Laos and sub tribs around here. Thai people kinda mix its the combination of South East Asia sphere and Chinese and it is why mosques are typically located near these canals. PS. Phetchaburi aint the well know Muslim area, the muslim hub of Bangkok is in Ramkhamheang area its where the University that that Southern people like to come to study, the area is also the origin settlement of Muslim since the capital relocate to Bangkok.
Before the Buddhist make it way to Thailand the foundation religion here was a folk religions same as other countries in South East Asia but the budhist is fit right into Thai people personality still there are many stuff that not at all what budhist suppose to be and the more tradion budhist in Srilank or Myanmar would disagree
Thai Buddhists vary in their commitment but one thing to be sure is most of them are not strongly devoted to the religion eitger teaching or learning but more of material and follow the tradion which they may break the rules at any time and people dont even care.
However, many still visit temples as a tradition to feel better. In provinces where Buddhists are the majority, especially in the South ( officially it only 4 provinces where the majority are muslim which is lower part of the Southern Thai) , there is a generally positive attitude towards Muslims due to centuries of coexistence.
In urban areas like Bangkok, people are neutral, neither particularly liking nor hating Muslims, or any religions as long as everyone minds their own business for peaceful coexistence. Additionally, Thai people generally disapprove of any kind of extremist.
Thanks for sharing the info 😃
Those who were employed to dig the canals around Bangkok came from northern Malay Peninsula, especially Pattani, Kedah and Kelantan.
Very interesting bit of islamic/ cultural history. Thankyou. Im going to Bangkok in July and looking forward to it. I think people in South Asia generally speaking be they muslim or non muslim are very tolerant of each other and have respect.
Love the fact that I’m living in America and there’s a video of my childhood street and mosque where I grew up. Makes me homesick, always a Phayathai Muslim.

Muslims are all around Bangkok in the heart of the city and at the outskirts they are among the first to heed the call of their beloved king to build a new capital.

I’m American by nationality, but my mom is Thai Muslim from Southern Thailand-seeing the people in the video kinda felt like home away from home in a way 😊 I’m not familiar with all the districts and neighborhoods in Bangkok, but since you mentioned it was the Muslim part of the capital, I wonder if you were in Ramkhamhaeng-my family told me it’s where most Thai Muslims in Bangkok live 🤷🏻♀️. And fun fact: Ramkhamhaeng is named after one of the old Thai kings from the Sukhothai Kingdom-the more you know

Sounds good!
In certain areas of Bangkok, there resides a community whose ancestors hailed from Kedah, Malaysia. Their presence in Thailand traces back to the turbulent period of the war between Siam (now Thailand) and the State of Kedah from 1821 to 1824. While historical accounts often assert that only men were taken captive during this conflict, further investigation is necessary to fully understand the extent of their migration.
The linguistic aspect of this community is equally intriguing. Those who still converse in Malay exhibit a creole that bears striking similarities to the dialects spoken in the northern regions of Kedah. Notably, they retain the distinctive "r" pronunciation characteristic of the northern states of Malaysia, preserving a linguistic link to their ancestral homeland.
This is the first time i watching your video, very nice. Greeting from Indonesia

Bidoon wizu anta salli ya akhi
It would be helpful to know where it is in BKK and how to get there or did I miss something?
I think you missed it in the video just Google search the masjid
Most of the halal food vendor/stall owner i believe from Southern Thailand, and then they migrated to Bangkok to make business. They are Malay same like us in Malaysia...but mostly they speak like malay Kelantanese dialect...same as i'm from Kelantan...next time try to speak simple Malay standard words like Apa Khabar, or Terima Kasih they will understand 😁
I think most of vendor owners in Bangkok cannot speak Malays. (Technically, most of them are Malays who migrated to Central Thailand hundreds years ago but cannot speak Malays anymore.) Most of them are local Muslim unless you go to some particular area. However it’s also not hard to find someone who can speak Malays in these Muslim area, because Muslim from southern Thailand always chose to live in the local Muslim area where Masjid and halal food are available.
@NJcba123 very very good comment. History behinds the scene. I'm Buddhist. Thailand is a melting pot of cultures. We have been living together with kindness and harmony. Thanks for one of the best video.

This is a long shot, but would there be any English language mosques in Bangkok?
Probably not, but that would be a great idea
Most Thai Muslim are Malay from Southern Thai and Malaysia, I saw most of their foods, mosque and culture are same to Malay culture in Malaysia
