      i figured this one out, make a path in Ai without fill or stroke, copy it , go to Ae create a shape layer then paste it there then apply the thicc effect

    Cool!
    I was wondering if you could do a tutorial explaining the purposes of animation principles like overshoot, anticipation, follow through etc. with detailed examples.
    I find applying these techniques tricky as i'm new to it

    you didn't explain how to import the vector from Illustrator and I'm really struggling on that since I can not find the way to create a Mask so the thicc stroke effect detects the mask

    • @ManueldoesMotion
      @ManueldoesMotion  วันที่ผ่านมา

      You need to use a solid and draw a mask path. As far as I know it doesn’t work with shape layers. You copy the path in illustrator add a random mask to your solid in Ae. Then you add a keyframe and paste the shape from Illustrator.

    Sorry, but the stuff I do in Thick Stroke can't be composited with other stuff. There is always a black square around the strokes, even when choosing the blend mode to "Add" or "Screen". Am I misunderstanding something?

    • @ManueldoesMotion
      @ManueldoesMotion  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's weird. Is the square the size of your shape? Or is it like a padding around the strokes?

  • @sophiemulders

    but i neeeeeed to know how you added the exclamation animation. i looks like some drops ... have been looking for very long on how to do this and i think i am missing something

    • @ManueldoesMotion
      @ManueldoesMotion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I drew lines with the pen tool. Then I added a trim paths animator to animate the start and end point. If you increase the stroke width, you can then use the "Taper" Option in the stroke property to "thin" the end of the stroke. And you need to set "Line Cap" to "Round Cap". That makes it look like a drop. Does that help?

    Great job ... But it is not clear about the white lines that accompany the text ... Thanks!

    • @ManueldoesMotion
      @ManueldoesMotion  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thx very much! The white lines are simple path shapes, drawn with the convert vertex tool. Stroke width 4 pixels, no fill. You need to add trim paths and animate the start and end point of the stroke. I animate one example in this chapter:
      5:58 Adding more details
      The timing is important. The strokes needs to follow the main shape with a few frames offset. I would add strokes, where ever there's enough space to place them.
