      you will tone with two different toners to combat the two colors.. one to cancel the orange and another to cancel the orange and then probably do an over glaze of a gloss to balance out the color to one tone.

    Fantastic video!!! Very informative. Everyone keep telling me to use purple shampoo. Didn’t even know they have blue shampoo. I bleached from almost black hair, and of course it turned orange. So I had to bleached it again because the purple shampoo wasn’t toning enough. Still too much orange. so....I left the purple shampoo on over night. Yes!!! My hair is now purple. Glad tomorrow is Halloween, so I have an excuse before I can wash it after work with dawn dish soap and lemon juice. I wish I had seen this video 24 hours sooner, cause I’m pretty sure I just need the blue shampoo instead of purple. Now I know. Thank you for showing the difference.

    I’m 60 years old and had dark brown hair from the salon for the last few years. I had my hair bleached and then colored dark slate grey, but it seemed to just turn it a paler shade of ash brown with a lot of gold highlights. So I tried purple shampoo once. Didn’t do anything. Then I tried it a second time, leaving it in longer. Nothing. Then I tried putting blue shampoo on straight from the bottle without even wetting my hair, and my hair turned a little green. Exasperated, I gave up for a while. Then the 4th time I just jumped in the shower and used the blue shampoo on wet hair, not thinking it would do anything….to my amazement, it is now a GORGEOUS dark slate grey that I wanted in the first place. There is still a tiny bit of leftover green, but it’s darker and more like a dark teal that you have to get real close to see, and it blends in beautifully with the dark grey. I think I’ve discovered that it helps if you give it time and repeat the shampooing multiple times 😅

    My hair is bleached to an extreme platinum- it’s more like white (and of very nice quality- it looks like a white human hair lace front wig lol),
    My natural is a medium dark blonde with a naturally somewhat straight wave (my ethnicity is Italian and Finnish.)
    My stylist suggested that I use blue instead of purple and I love how my hair looks after she does it so I’m about to wash my hair for the first time with blue, I’m going to leave it on for the recommended 2-3 minutes and then update here to add to the study.
    Purple shampoo adds too much ash for me so I’m hoping to have a “brighter” result with the blue.

I have natural dark brown hair in my roots but the rest is pretty yellow hair colour tone is about10 but i know that bleaching is harmful i dont want damage my hair anymore but it looks drastically bad with my roots. So what happens if i apply the colour 10.11 dye directly without bleaching and using blue shampoo to get rid of orangeness and brassy parts ? And i know that it looks orange in roots without bleaching it. What do you think is blue shampo really works for nonbleaching and directly applied box dye 10.11??

    I really loved your video, it really helped me out a lot. I was wondering which I should use on my hair because I have brown hair and then professionally lightened/highlighted with golden & blond highlights about 3 years ago. I bought the Joico Blue shampoo but only left it in for about 3 minutes 2 days ago, and I do see I difference (it tone down the brassiness, somewhat). I am wondering if I should try the blue shampoo again and leave it on for another 3 to 5 minutes? Will a second time tone it down some more or should I leave it alone after my first try? Can anyone give me some advice with this. If I try it a second time and I don't like the results will it wash out in a couple of weeks anyway? :-)

    I need you so much in my life I love your content. So educational.
    I have a hair problem. I wanted a balaayage but my hairdresser is old school and I love her heart so I let her highlight me. We she used a toner that required 20 volume which she assured me would lift the brassy tone from the rest of my hair.
    I have hot roots. I mean the worst of the worst hot roots
    Went to a color rorrecrion specialist and they told me we can't cancel out the top with dark because the highlights with turn green or something.
    Is there anything I can do in the meantime till my appt. In 3 months.
    Please help.

      that true using a darker color cld turn your hightlights green..I say you can go get a shadow root toner at the salon to help with brass to hold you till your next appt..

    Hello! I have bleached hair, some parts are a light grey and other are a sandy blonde, I want my hair to be a light grey almost white with a grey tint in it! I think I will buy purple shampoo since it’s yellow and not orange, is this a good choice? I want it to be more grey/white than actually blonde. How long should I leave the purple shampoo in to get it?

    Most helpful video so far. I tried to have my afro hair ends re bleached but now have orange underneath the blonde but my hair is not long enough to really shampoo or tone separately. To tone down just the orangeness would it be wide to use blue shampoo, maybe on wet hair, for short time without turning the blonde parts blue?

    • @UrManeAveTv
      @UrManeAveTv  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can do that but sometimes the orange part are not bleached enough, so you might have to bleach those part again, depending on how light you want your hair to be.

    What happens when/if you mix blue and purple shampoo. When my hair is bleached it lifts to both yellow and brass. Can I tone both out at the same time by mixing? Would one have to be first than second?
    Thank you for your video! Very informative.

    • @UrManeAveTv
      @UrManeAveTv  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      i havent mixed the two... usually it is better when the hair is lifted to an even color... not sure how your hair looks like but I think using a toner to balance your hair may be the best bet.

    The matrix shampoo is actually considered more of a blue shampoo even though its a violete color it is meant to work against yellow and mainly orange tones. So you essentially used two blue shampoos

    i have natural black hair, did not bleach and only dye dark brown, to keep the colour from turning lighter, do i need to use a purple shampoo? or just normal color shampoo is fine?

    • @UrManeAveTv
      @UrManeAveTv  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      just use shampoo that is made for color treated hair. most of them have something on there along the line of "color safe" color protect" or something similar. thanks for watching.

    So u won't get that violet or blue cast/tint don't put purple or blue shampoo directly on dry hair. I find shampoo toning while showering works best because it's diluted & tones evenly & leave for 5min or I keep mine in the whole shower till the end to achieve the blonde quicker that I'm looking to get. In most cases it's a process to get the tone you're looking for w/ these shampoo's. you can also mix/dilute the purple or blue shampoo w/ regular shampoo also to avoid tint issues. hope this helps anyone 😊

    Okay but u do realize that blue and red makes purple, so purple shampoo already has blue in it as well as purple.So what do u do if u have 3 orange spots and the rest is blonde ?

    So could you do this on virgin hair? I was told to try the matrix mask because its an imdigo shade. I have mousey darkish brown hair but the ends are damaged so they pull brassy/yellow/ reddish. Im so confused but from what i was told it seems it could be right?

    • @UrManeAveTv
