To say that the Poles are fans of the Polish song(s) would perhaps be an understatement ;D
They were invited to Poland by various clubs on various occasions (e.g. when they played a free concert on the anniversary of Polish independence). In addition, they received a quite interesting collection of thank you gifts from Polish dignitaries, including
      - from the archbishop of Gdańsk, an original officer's sabre
      - hand embossed gorge with a Polish eagle from the scouts in Wizna
      - Heraldry of the White Eagle by the Head of the Chancellery of the Polish President
      - Honorary citizenship of Zawady Municipality
      - ...

Really recommend their official live video of En Livstid i Krig - live in Gothenburg. It is in swedish but I think that only adds to the song as everyone knows and sings the lyrics. It's about the harsh reality of a life of common soldiers during the Thirty-years War and in my opinion it captures that feeling perfectly. (If you decide to react definitely turn on subtitles)

Fun Fact: It was actually closer to 58 to 1. According to Wikipedia the Battle of Wizna (which the song is about) was 42,200 Germans to an estimated 720 Poles which comes out to 58.6 to 1.
Not so Fun Fact: The commander in charge of the Polish defenses told Polish High Command that he would never surrender. When the Polish troops finally ran out of ammunition he ordered them to surrender and then committed suicide.

You really should react to their live performance of "En livstid i krig" (A lifetime in war) in Gothenburg (Sweden). The song is about the personal struggle, loss and pain of the individual soldier from Sweden travelling down to Germany to fight in the 30-years war. The song is both tragic and beautiful, very powerful, and the fans are just incredible.
The band has english translated subtitles to put on.

I've heard conflicting reports of how many people were in the audience. Anywhere between 300,000 to 750,000 people. Sabaton is one of those few bands that's actually better Live than in studio. Not taking anything away from their albums, which are always outstanding, but Live they REALLY know how to work the crowd! The red baron, 82 all the way , the last stand- from the great tour. would be great ones. But to be honest they don't have bad live performances! They are truly a live band. Great in studio but live....incredible! So choose and enjoy! Great reaction as always. Have damn good day!

The plan was for Poland to hold Germany for two weeks; France would invade Germany from the west, followed by Britain. France and Britain wussed out. Poland held for FOUR weeks even after the Soviets invaded on Sept. 17th.

If you see Tank’s videos he talks about the fender Stratocaster that Thobbe is playing. Thobbe has said that he likes the authentic sound of it.

Sometimes, bands borrows gear if there own, for some reason isn't there. Some borrow gear/rent gear if they go somewhere it's impractical to bring there own. So I think it's not his normal guitar. Or he just bought it and wanted to play it.

Best history class you will ever take is going to a Sabaton concert and just absolutely enjoying yourself!!!! Try Primo Victoria LIVE (th-cam.com/video/Av6kklFbUKs/w-d-xo.html) to see how insane a Polish crowd can be during a history lesson!!

I was at the same show. We were upstairs in the seated section. I enjoy concerts most when my back is against something. The back of the chair makes me feel the music more in the chest and feels more intense.
(Got a picture with the lead singer from Hammerfall, yay!) It was the last concert hubby and I will ever see together.

I'm with you their Chase, before Covid I bought tickets to see Jinjer in LA and Queensryche and Scorpions in Vegas and I just left them open waiting for this shit to be over. Queensryche/Scorpions have a date of May 31st, we'll see if that holds.

Whatever you decide to react to from Sabaton, my suggestion is to watch the Sabaton History about it first. Those are ~15 minute videos: ⅔ about the history behind the song, ⅓ an interview with a band member about the song (why it was written, weird behind the scenes facts, etc).
My favorite comment a band member had about 40:1 was something to the effect of: "I don't think we'll be able to leave ... alive ... if we did a concert in Poland without playing 40:1." (Badly paraphrased)
