Dave is the most minimalist fisherman I know. I heard that before he got those rod and reels, he just tied the lines to his toes so he could feel the bite.

What size spoon/color do you recommend for shad/skipjack? 2. When is the best time of day to go after shad/skipjack? 3. Cut bluegill is getting me everything but catfish. What do you recommend? chrome most of the time for skipjack but there are days they prefer a chartruese or even white..small spoons and medium spoons..skipjack bite at different times of the day..never know till you throw..in the summer they are easiest to catch at night under lights using a live minnow..bluegill is best live..it doesnt have oily or smelly meat..shad, skipjack, or even mullet would be more productive baits
