I’ve got the money, but other things have to take priority. For years I keep telling myself no on a boat. I still catch lots of fish and big ones. Don’t be discouraged
I was in the same "boat" until recently lol. I really did appreciate his bank videos then, but honestly even now, sometimes it's just convenient to walk up and throw a line in from the bank rather than bring a boat
Richard you are a teacher second to none, very patient, and explain in a way that makes sense. and doing so while fishing, i know it's not easy. you my friend have a special talent. Im a old timer , but i learn something with each video. THANK YOU!!!!
Yes Richard it kills me at the garbage that people leave on this beautiful lake bank! Just to lazy or just doesn't give a you know what!!!! Some nice fish Richard!! LIVE FOR THE THUMP MY FRIEND!!
The swim jigs I use are the crappie strike king that comes with small soft plastic. Works great with or without a bobber. If there's a lot of structure that's really rough, I'll use a bobber. I'll keep leader 12 up to 18 inches works great. 😊
Richard you are Top Shelf Buddy Row. Class act , Good humor , And I would put your fishin ability up against ANYone. Love the channel , and thanks for all you do. It’s a true blessing watching your channel. WOOOOOO !
I dont know why Im so bad at fishing but I have loved it all my life. Im glad I found this channel because I feel like Im finally learning things I needed to know. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Richard Gene you are by far the very best fisherman I have ever watched on you tube. I'm telling you, thank you for being a class act. And the very best instructor, helping people like me that don't get to fish as much as we would like. Working all the time. Your knuckle head stuff you do is funny. I'd love to fish with you. Keep doing what you do. We really love you and momma Sue.
Ever time I watch one of your videos, it takes me back to fishing with my dad on creek banks , farm ponds and out of a14’ Jon boat on local lakes. Keep them coming
Mr Richard, you and Mama Sue have inspired both my girlfriend and I back into fishing. We both fished all the time in high school and fell out of it when we came to college. We want to be just like you guys one day, hooking monsters and dying laughing at each other. Happy summer from Kansas!
Heh Gene, I haven't watched your channel in a while. Been watchin lottsa other shows but none of them come anywhere close to being as informative as yours. Really appreciate all the info you give us on the gear, bait, lures you use. As well as your techniques on fishing. Get a kick out of you using vintage gear from time to time. You da man Gene. Thanks for all you're sending our way. Take care buddy!
Just want to thank you for your knowledge about fishing techniques. You are the fishing guru, I appreciate the most. Again can't wait till you next fishing video. GOD bless you and may your adventures continue to bring me enjoyment. Again thank you.
Ever time I watch one of your videos, it takes me back to fishing with my dad on creek banks , farm ponds and out of a14’ Jon boat on local lakes. Keep them coming and God Bless
Indeed true Richard. I use 1/8 1/16 and 1/32 oz jig heads a lot easier to unsnag. Plus the beauty is the hooks are light you bend them slightly upward to help hook the fish.
I caught 11 bluegills for supper the other day after I saw you use your cane pole again. 1/32oz jig and a gulp minnow on a medium black widow cane pole with 8lb fluorocarbon. Always learning from you Mr. Gene!
What a great tutorial. Your deliberate and steady pace of information really makes watching so relaxing. I just wish Elmo would listen. Would be good to see him with you. But, I guess he just does his own thing. Never seem to see both of you at the same time. Wait, what ....?🤔🤣
I fished both sides of that dam where he is now a couple months ago. The north side where he is now is a lot better. More open, less crowded. I caught some good bluegills and shell cracker for tacos that night camping out at Honeycomb down the road. I can’t wait to go back there.
Mr. Richard i have fished my hole life and have learned so many new tricks and pieces of knowledge that have helped a hell of a lot and I sure do appreciate you for yall the time you take just to teach ppl the mountain of knowledge you have thank you sir
Great video and spot on about the effectiveness of this fluke. A few years ago I caught an 11 pound bass out of a farm pond using such a fluke with a gamakatzu jig head.
Your videos just seem to get better and better. You are the easiest fisherman to follow along with and learn from that I have encountered. The plain and clear language and reasons behind the tackle and the technique are perfect for someone like me (and I am sure I am not alone in that aspect). Can you enlighten me on the brand of jig head you are using on this video so I can get some for myself? Keep the videos coming Richard, and remember, "go fishin' when ya can cawz its gud fer ya!"
That's one cool hat my friend, and it's all you, it looks so natural on you,....I could not look half that cool in that hat, and it's even better that a family sent that specially for you....thank you to that family, RG , you are loved, God Bless.
Nice video mister Richard love your videos keep up the good work it makes my day when you release a new video I go fishing every day and it is good for me
Excellent presentation with attention to details. Very useful information, thanks for sharing. I'm a huge fan of the channel and always looking forward for new content. Cheers from Canada.
Loving the bank videos, most of us on youtube watching stuff dont have boats and electronics, otherwise we probably wouldnt need to be watching, thank you!!
I have been watching a transition zone very much as yorz, RG. Some of my watching but not acting has been when others around ( i dont want them to think I am doing much of anything) and some has been watching where fish are and come back when I have time to go after them. This very tactic is going to come in handy. THANKS!
I love your channel been watching you for a few years never disappoint i seen you use the sowbelly rod a few episodes ago i ordered one for pan fish aka crappie it's 6.6 with a Tennessee Handel i can move the reel around to a rear seat or top or middle grate rod thanks for sharing the type of rods an reels you use
Love your video, Thanks Richard I will be on a road trip to portland from North Carolina early July Any rec's on streams to catch some fish with my kids? Especially crappie Thanks
Great video-- again. Sometimes it's fun bank fishing on rip rap like your doing. Main reason like you said, you never know what will hit your line. Could be a little crappie or a big ole whisker jaw. Love your videos Richard and love your scripture quotes In the discription. God bless you and your family and have a blessed day my friend. 👍👍
i love when u make bank fishing videos because i don’t have a boat…yet 💪🏾
If possible start with a kayak or float tube it’s easy for one person to use and a great way to fish
I’ve got the money, but other things have to take priority. For years I keep telling myself no on a boat. I still catch lots of fish and big ones. Don’t be discouraged
Im paddling a canoe! Takes a little more work but I'm out there with the big boys lol!
thanks y’all!
I was in the same "boat" until recently lol. I really did appreciate his bank videos then, but honestly even now, sometimes it's just convenient to walk up and throw a line in from the bank rather than bring a boat
This is my safe space in this crazy world. Thanks Richard Gene😎😎😎😎

I've lost sadly a lot of crappie swim jigs with the soft plastics in a lot of situations. That's why I'll use a 1 1/4 inch bobber.
you have made me a 10 times better crappie fisher man good job.
Thank You, Richard. I know you get a lot of thank you's but they are all well deserved and heartfelt.

WOOOO 😁THE FISHING MACHINE,how ya doing Gene?
You're a legend.
Thanks for the tips.
Ive always noticed when you hook a fish deep in the mouth on the top they put up a much better fight than when you hook the edge of the mouth
