Buddy, you ARE THE 1% !!! Go back and listen to "KEEF" songs like "You Got The Silver", "Before They Make Me Run", etc.? G-I-A-N-T difference in vocals.
this is wonderful. they probably both sang the song and were recorded on different tracks. I hear Mr. Jagger's voice singing some lines, but the verses are sung by Mr. Richards. Mr. Richards can sing country like an authentic good ole boy. Mr. Jagger also sings country excellently. one need only to listen to Dead Flowers to know that they had that style down better than most of the country performers before or after. they made the so-called 'outlaw country' stars look like lightweight pop singers. Los Rolling Stones son realmente geniales músicos. muchas gracias para compartiendo y saludos desde Tokio.
It's not Keith, it's Mick singing in a rare voice. But, it can be deceiving a little at the start, but Keith never had a range like that. Sorry Smeadle, you don't listen to the Stones much?
So many times I've wanted to get in my car. Drive to Nashville. Get out of my car. And go up to every God dang country singin' poser (cuz these boys these days are about as country New Jersey) and bitch slap them and make them listen to Dear Doctor, Prodigal Son, Factory Girl, Salt of The Earth, Torn + Frayed, + lest I forget 2 songs with more emotion + more country than a dozen Blake Shelton songs about pickup trucks + double wides and they are: LOVING CUP + NO SPARE PARTS. Those are just a handful of COUNTRY SONGS by The World's Greatest COUNTRY BAND - The Rolling Stones that should've been re-recorded Nashville stars. I can't believe none of them have ever thought if it. Hell, even some of Ringo's songs with + w/out The Beatles would've made excellent country songs. Think about it.
You hate when Mick sings this? Well I hate to inform you that this is not Keef singing. It's definitely Mick. I was excited to hear it when I saw you posted it as a Keef vocal and I'd love to hear him take it on. But thenI was greatly dissapointed that this ain't it my friend. I'm listening on my cell but I still know the difference between Mick and Keefs voices - even on a tiny little shit phone speaker. Being as I am the biggest Stones fan on earth.
I agree. I think Keith (nobody still refers to Keef anymore) does a line or two but that is Michael Phillip singing. I've only recently purchased the Deluxe version but I'm hooked on the 2011 vocal version & wasn't familiar these songs. While I purchased Some Girls when it came out in '77 but I was so entrenched in Punk in '77 - '88 that I had no time for the Old dinosaurs of rock (or couldn't admit that I loved these "Dinosaurs" still or I'd be drummed out of the "Society of Punk Rockers" & they'd take my card away). I didn't know that Jagger recorded new vocals & our boy KR recorded new parts as well. I love the 2nd disc even more than the original. Maybe because it's new music to me - but I can't stop listening to it. I love Keith songs cuz of the passion he sings with, just like an old troubadour. One of the few things I give Mick credit for is 1): being able to put the right vocals on Keith's music and 2): Being one of the most UNDERRATED Harmonica players in music. He doesn't do it much anymore (it can not be easy being 75 yrs old, dancing & prancing on mile-long stages while singing, then having to wind to blow a wind instrument) but was one of the best in the '60's - '70's.
Gee thanks for setting me straight on the Keith thing, don't know HOW I could be so foolish as to refer to him the way I've ALWAYS heard his partner in crime. However, being as he been Keef to me for 40 plus years, GHS being the first Stones disc I bought at it's release when I was 12 or 13 I think I'll stick with keef. Tho I realize it is putting me in danger of being drummed out of your card-carrying RS fan club.
esta versión de la canción es realmente maravillosa y magnífica, todos seis minutos . . . qué ellos crean con dos o tres acordes es simplemente increíble. muchas gracias y saludos desde Tokio.
Keith DOES NOT sing 'the first couple of minutes!! This is ENTIRELY MICK JAGGER. All of the singing!! In his best Dartford, Kent via Southern US Country drawl ! Mick & Keith grew up in the same place, so perhaps Americans ( I'm assuming it's our U.S. cousins) who find it hard to tell their voices apart I dunno. They are unmistakably very different to anyone in UK though!
I believe it oak with singing for the first couple of minutes and then Mick starts up. I hear them alternating. I could be wrong but it sounds like Keith's phrasing style to me. Great version regardless. Thanks!
@ Peter Mills As an American I take exception with the general misinformation - or direct insult - that Americans do not know the difference between Mick and Keith's voice. I've known the who's who of The Stones since I was about twelve years old. To be clear...in other words...I know this is Mick. What's with the label and denunciation of your allies? If it weren't for Americans there would be no Stones. As I recall the records Keith was carrying when he met up with Mick again were American musicians.
micks voice straight out
YEP
That’s not Keef on vocals. That’s mick.
Buddy, you ARE THE 1% !!! Go back and listen to "KEEF" songs like "You Got The Silver", "Before They Make Me Run", etc.? G-I-A-N-T difference in vocals.

Wow Keith sounds amazingly like Mick! Oh . .. Wait thats cause it is Mick.

That’s mick singing not keef. I don’t know what they’re talking about.
Richards sings nothing on this - it’s a rough sketch vocal by Jagger
This is Mick on vocals and this version has been on the bootleg circuit since 78. It’s better than the remake they officially released with new vocals
like the man said it's not keith it's mick listen to his voice
It's not Keith, it's Mick singing in a rare voice. But, it can be deceiving a little at the start, but Keith never had a range like that. Sorry Smeadle, you don't listen to the Stones much?
Brenda - all the way through - great song - they shoulda released it way back then, it would've done well
BRENDA, LOL fucking keef
This isnt Keith, aint too hard to figure it out. Jagger likes to "broaden" his accent like this when he's singing country.
Nah man it's keith listen to his solo album

This is Mick singing with Keith's voice bleeding over into it.
That’s not Keith singing. Not even close. It’s Mick on this version too.
This is 100% Keith Richards on Vocals and Mick sings some lines.
You are no Stones fan. It’s Mick - every published list of recording sessions documents this

Mick Jagger
WTF this Is not Keith's voice
It's the live vocal.
Clickbait bullshit. This is the same old Mick version that’s been everywhere for many years.
Exactly
It's MICK but the recording sounds a bit off
Mick sings it so much better on this cut than on the finished version on the Some Girls reissue but this.
Is this whatcha call click bait
tom d is right - sounds like both, esp. at about 3:00 or so, it is Mick.
No IT DOES NOT !!! Is it just Americans who seem to struggle with telling Mick & Keith's singing apart? Serious question!
