It takes more time and money now to produce a video game because they're _expected_ to be large now and be really fun to play multiple times, whereas in the 90s/2000s a really short game with little replayability was common and considered acceptable as long as it was pretty good once or twice. Super Mario Galaxy kind of raised the bar for what mario games were, maybe a little _too_ high, but Nintendo's been struggling to meet or raise that bar since.

Its nice to see that the new versions of princess peach wear clothes that are actually appropriate for the special situation. A long pink dress is not a good outfit if you try do drive a race car. Also, I am really impressed by all the different outfits she has in Super Mario Odyssey. Adding this was a great idea for the game.
My top three favorite outfits are: 1. Her classic dress. Mario Party 3 is one of the first video games I ever played, and I always selected her or Daisy when I was little (I go with Waluigi whenever I revisit the game now though, but I still select the princesses as computer players). It’s still one of my favorite games to this day, and as a result, I get really nostalgic when I see Peach wearing her classic dress, especially when I’m playing Mario Party 3, or looking at a screenshot or watching a video of it, because in that game, the dress is more neon, and I’m a sucker for bright, bold colors! Also, the half-pink, half-magenta skirt is gorgeous, the brooch is a really deep, beautiful blue, and the sash gives the skirt more volume, and big, poofy dresses get an A+ in my book! Don’t get me wrong, I like her current dress. But I love her classic dress. 2. Her Strikers Charged outfit. That game gave every character more personality, and I love how Peach is portrayed as a sassy, confident diva who takes pride in her femininity. Her animations are spot-on, and her Mega Strike is magnificent, definitely one of the best in the game! Even as someone who’s not a super girly girl, I find her boldness and attitude very inspiring, for the most part anyway (I don’t see her losing animations as a source of inspiration, lol). Anyway, as for her outfit, it’s awesome! I love how she’s wearing a few colors that she doesn’t usually wear, like dark magenta, yellow, and powder blue, and the whole outfit in general says, “Femininity is not a sign of weakness, and I’m going to enjoy kicking your butt!” I love that so much! When are they going to make another Strikers game? 3. Her black coat from Mario Odyssey. She looks so classy in black! Just because her name is Peach doesn’t mean she can only wear pink! It kinda drives me crazy how she wears pink in 90-99% of fan art in which she wears a made-up outfit. But I also find it kinda funny too. Imagine if you were stuck wearing one color for the rest of your life, because that was a way for people to recognize you. I would be very unhappy if I was stuck with olive green!
