    I'd welcome the 40mp, needing 'more storage' really isn't a problem today. Storage is super cheap. If you can afford 1400 dollar toy camera you can afford hard drives.

      needing more storage isn’t an issue, i agree.

    I would do what fuji did from the xt2 to the xt3: same mp, faster processor:
    1) same trans 4 sensor
    2) new trans 5 processor ( like the s20)
    3)uh2-ii card writing
    4) make the flash shoe pins the same as other fujis for compatibility with the ef-x8 flash.
    5) better weather sealing by adding gaskets to battery and port doors
    6) bump up evf rez to 5.76 million dot rez
    7) provide compatible PD battery manufacturers fir the assholes that wanna use it as a movie camera and bitch about battery time.
    8) update OS, enable TIFF output
    Again, an overall refinement instead of enlarging the body to stuff it with specs.

      Thanks for the input, I agree. It just needs overall refinement.

    I agree with you. I think Fuji make a mistake with the new release with feature that is not necessary. They should hold on to X100V for a few years.

    • @robjkim

      They should but I guess it’s that time to release a new camera for the company haha.

    IBIS is mostly useful for video

    • @robjkim

      Yes true, would argue that this is a terrible camera for video though.

    The rumoured price is $1599 from Fuji rumours that came out a few days ago that price point is well under the used price on a x100v for major upgrades . It sounds like your trying to justify not upgrading

    • @robjkim

      Yes, i read that price today actually. but i was also speaking from a point of the MSRP, which i noted. i understand that the aftermarket for this camera is still ridiculous.

      @@robjkim really? Because the X100V retails for 1600 euro currently

      @ksoohw oh i don’t know what the market in EU will be. i just did a direct conversion from $1600.

    And why 40 megapixels? I have 24 on my Sony A7 and thats way too much than I need. 12 would do me. Why cant they keep the megapixels low and increase image quality at high ISO's?

    • @robjkim

      i agree with you, the average person buying this camera doesn’t need 40 MP, nor will you be really able to tell between the 26MP that the x100v already has. unless you crop that much.

    • @definingslawek4731

      @@robjkim You don't lose anything by going 40mp, it's not like they'll have to spend more. Realistically using the same part across multiple products is much cheaper than having to make a seperate one for a different product. If they wanted to go less than 40mp they'd either need to ask sony to make them a new sensor or they'd have to use one of their old sensors.
      And why buy a new camera with an old sensor?

    • @definingslawek4731

      Higher resolution also makes noise look a lot more like grain. I love my a7iv's noise pattern, it's very filmic. Instead of adding grain to photos I often just totally disable noise reduction.
      24 is far too low for an over 1000 dollar camera releasing in 2024.

    • @robjkim

      definitely don’t think think should lower the MP lol. i just said if that’s that’s not a HUGE selling point but i agree that obviously technology has to get better in any new product that a company releases. Thanks for your input.

  • @natandtheguy1

    I don’t think you understand Fuji sensors and cameras very well. A 40 megapixel sensor is going to be the main selling feature of this camera. It turns one lens into 3 lenses with a push of a button with the in camera digital crop . So if you have the 50mm converter on the x100vi you would basically be like having six focal options. It will convert a 50mm to a 70mm and 100mm in an external small form factor . Most Fuji shooters I know love the digital crop especially on the xt5 because of the cameras photography centric form factor . I will expect the new x100 to be fair more popular then the current x100v for this reason alone

    • @robjkim

      fair point! i was just speaking from my experience of never really using that digital crop, but you’re right. if you’re someone who does use that feature, 40MP will make a big difference. i should’ve added that part. Thanks for the feedback! Much love

      Wow I was surprised you replied back to both my comments , I was kind of straight forward and not the nicest . Keep up the good work

      Cropping in is not really the same as shooting with a lens of a different focal length.

      I WOULD NEVER USE X100V FOR VIDEO AS IT LITERALLY HEATS UP THE CAMERA. FOR VIDEO MY CELL PHONE CAMERA IS THE BEST.
      SO IBIS DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A GAME CHANGER IF IT'S EXPENSIVE. ALSO 40 MP IS NO GAME CHANGER AGAIN,BUT A F1.7 OR F1.8 WITH A BUILT IN 64 OR 128 GB MEMORY WOULD CERTAINLY BE A GAME CHANGER. THOSE ARE SOLELY MY VIEWS. MY X100V YIELDS STUNNING NIGHT PICTURES.

      @rakeshkrishnaraj1755 Agreed, i never shoot video with my x100v. we will have to wait and see but i do believe the aperture will probably be slightly better than the x100v. love shooting night photos on it! thanks for watching.
