    Thanks Chris. That makes me feel better about the idea. Another idea I have is to do a kit of Revell's 65 Chevy Stepside pick up truck which I already have that I did a custom paint job on. I used Testors "Purplelishous" on it (if I spelled that right) lol. But when I was 12 years old my dad had an Aqua green 65 Chevy Stepside pick up truck that had the old white Jeep Wagon wheels from the 80's. And at the same time daddy had this truck, he bought me a red go-cart. He used to take me to places where I could drive my go-cart and he would help me load the go-cart on that old truck. I was thinking about doing a kit and trying to get it to look like my dad's truck and taking the little go-cart from this kit here and putting it with that kit. Daddy used to have a dark green GMC truck kinda like this one here. Sadly my dad passed away a year ago. But I think if I did a model truck like that he would smile and say "Todd that's pretty !" Just like he always did whenever I would finish a model. Dad loved these old cars and trucks as much as I do and he instilled that love in me.

    I'm totally impressed as always Chris! Beautiful build! My dad owned a 60 Chevy step-side when I was a kid. Had a huge rust hole in the floor board. Everytime we hit a puddle water sprayed up in the interior. Lol

    We recently got an "Ollie's" in the area. I have been in there a couple of times. The have more models than any other store, outside of a hobby shop of course. Many Lindberg ships. No, did not see a Blue Devil Destroyer or PT109, but they do have the Robert E. Lee riverboat, the tugboat, and many smaller scale battleships and cruisers. Lots of car kits too from other manufacturers.

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wish they'd open some near me but wishful thinking. Love me some old Lindberg ships. That Robert E Lee is a nice kit and usually goes for $50 or so. Worth grabbing on bargain prices.

    • @jnichols3
      @jnichols3 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Went by there today. No more Robert E. Lee, still had the tugs though. One I thought about getting and putting away was the Dodge L-700 with chrome tank trailer. It was $24.99. I think retail is near $50. Revell must have had some quality control problems, because I spotted two Challenger SRTs with the prepainted bodies. Both were sealed in Camero ZL1 boxes. These are the boxes with window so the body and rims are visable. $9.99 each. Also tempting because I have a Challenger. I have enough kits, and they are in a big box somewhere???? Keep up the good work.

      I guess it is a matter of taste. I prefer stock vehicles. The best looking older cars I see are those that look like they just came from the factory. I cringe when I see a classic car "chopped" are lowered to within 2 inches of the ground, but that is just my preference. If I ever restore a car, or more likely a tractor, it will be as stock as possible. I have not built a model in 20 years, but that has not stopped me from collecting kits and putting them away for sometime when I may start up again. I am 51, but up to a couple of decades ago I still had a ceiling full of hanging 1/72 scale WWI and WWII fighters. Thanks for reigniting my interest in this hobby. BTW I am subscribing to your channel.

      The biggest investment with any new equipment is time in the form of learning how to use it and "tuning" for best results. I appreciate that you are willing to do this to improve your reviews!

    Loved it! When you choose a custom color, do you consider automobile manufacturer colors, or do you choose what "pops?"
    Your attention to detail and explicit guidance amazes me! Your build reviews are very relaxing for me, therapeutic. Thank you!

    Chris, Another wonderful build, man. I can't tell you how many videos are out there when the camera just does not focus. I was just thinking, whenever you bring something up close, your camera ALWAYS focuses. That IS a Gr8 feature. I am Really glad that you got a new camera, but I have noticed that. AND I like that color on the truck. It really does look like a mild custom. Go kart came out really nice, also. God Bless, Be safe my friend. T4, tom

    Cool Chris! I like it dude! Looks good brother! I wish one of the models companies would make a longbed Chevy P/U 60’- 65’. My first vehicle I had when I was 16 was a 65’ Chevy longbed pickup! Guess if I want to make a model version of it I’ll have to make my own longbed, literally! My truck was about that color you painted that one! Anyways, good job man! 👍🤘✌🏻Doug

    This truck is beautiful! But the translations! They burn! 3rd degree burns to my eyes!
    Your build is really beautiful and personally, I didn't notice a change in the quality of the "film". I did however, notice that the sound was a little "canned" tho. I guess it go with learning to know your new camera too.

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! Yeah, working on the sound. It's true 1080p at 30fps now, instead of 720p at 17fps before. On a TV I can see the difference but not on a phone or laptop. Hoping I can figure out the sound in the settings, we'll see.

    very informative videos bud. Question...you part the parts while they are still joined to the plastic trees. when you take them off the tress, how do you paint those areas that were connected to the tree?

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll want to watch Saturdays upcoming video for that answer. It's very simple. ;)
