Saw this on crutchfield as a new arrival so I knew I had to learn more about alpines new products. I had a hand me down box with two Type E’s for awhile but I sold them with my old car. They thumped hard for only having a mrp-m450 amp. Looking forward to adding some alpines to my new car
I don't care how's it looks. All I care about is the performance of this subwoofer. Would like to know the advancements compared to the previous generation subs.
i dont think alpine is that good anymore, especially with all these newer brands putting out so much power with excellent quality with amazing prices, i owned a type s10 with 500 watts and it really wasnt anything special
@@ezioassassainyou gotta get a ported box and filter out the highs too, to really bring out those subsonics. I have a Type S 12 in a ported/vented box and it slams (especially using a filter)
A couple of questions. The R2-S65C speakers can play far lower frequency than the specified 65hz. Is it safe to bypass the crossover for extra bass as long as the signal isn't clipping? Is there a time frame to update the Tidal app on the 507 since they are now offering hi-res lossless flac?
Been looking to purchase Alpine SS-SB10 S-Series 10" 2-Ohm Preloaded Shallow Subwoofer Enclosure but have not found any detailed reviews on this down firing sub. Any advice?
The loaded enclosures are still the older model S-Series subwoofers as of right now but we will be updating them in the coming months to the new woofers once we get more stocked.
Appreciate the feedback. Design is always very subjective so hard to make something that is universally liked from a looks standpoint. Alpine is always very focused on the sound quality above anything else.
As a dedicated Alpine fan, I’m sure the suspension of this woofer is durable and powerful. Great build materials go into the cone, spider and basket. But I’m disappointed in the new convex design, it’s similar to Skar Audio subs and it’s just plain ugly! Last gen Type S had a concave design that’s similar to the latest Type R’s. The SWS-12D4 from 2 generations ago had the coolest design of all the S series. Last gen type s I own is “okay” but the latest gen is just plain ugly lmao sorry to be harsh
Yeah, im not trying to bash you guys... as i worked for multiple alpine dealers over the past 15 years... but y'all need some serious help in the design and marketing side of things. I'd love to help you guys be restored to your former glory. Don't take this the wrong way.. have a good day.
Bro I'm reconning a Rockville punisher 12 that is like 20 dollars less in price and has 40lbs of magnet and I'm willing to bet my 5k amp my reconned sub with play way lower and be far louder then childs toy of a sub. They have been a joke for a long time to many other better options

If i order this in a loaded enclosure will it have next gen sub or the older sub?

The cone looks great by the way, but when you turn the woofer around it looks like something you would see next to a dual or jensen.
