My grandmother's emotional pain at the expense of my grandfather's behavior led to an early hysterectomy. A woman's body is so sacred and intricately delicate. I pray & hope that more men can accept & express their innate empathy and sensitivity.

Thank you for sharing such a deeply personal and insightful comment. I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother's pain, and I completely agree-women's bodies and emotions are sacred and deserve respect. Healing starts with awareness, and I hope conversations like this help inspire positive change.

The older I get, the more I believe that marriage is based more in attachment than in actual love. Attachment is based in fear. Genuine love is unconditional, freeing, inclusive (never exclusive) and acceptance.
From being in long term romantic relationships and observing married people in my life, it seems like they take the constraints of attachment and label it "love".
Marriages/long term relationships are almost completely conditional. Upon physical attraction. Upon monogamy. Upon shared values. Upon ability to compromises. Upon finances. Upon feeling secure.
    Upon etc., etc.
I don't see long marriages as any type of accomplishment the way society does. Freedom to change and grow on my own sounds more appealing. Learning from friends, family and all of the people I encounter in the world. The break ups or divorces that happen aren't necessarily to prepare someone for another romantic relationship. It's to help the individual grow for themselves. It can lead to shared experiences with others going through the same things and new valuable friendships. But ultimately, each of us need to grow into our own power and find that strength within ourselves.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful perspective! Everyone’s path is unique, and there's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to love or relationships. Thank you again for sharing your insight-it’s definitely given me and, I’m sure, others something to reflect on.
